recently i have been scared shitless abt what 2025 will bring for me and for many others. my mom told my dad that i was worried bc he was visiting, and we talked. he has told me in the past that he voted for trump bc he'll be better for the economy and that he doubts that he'll actually do what he says he's going to.

i love my dad, dont get me wrong, but wtf? by voting for that greasy bandaid, you are not only displaying your apathy for all of the people that are going to be oppressed bc of what he has in store for when/if he gets in office, you are also showing that all of that was not a dealbreaker for you.

i see far too many posts saying something along the lines of "never tell me men's careers suffer from (false) rape accusations" or the opposite: "never tell me men's careers DON'T suffer from (false) rape accusations"

i'm actually so tired of hearing people say this. some rapists are doing completely well and some are persecuted and shunned. when you look at patterns this is REALLY a matter of race and class and making it about gender is setting yourself up for failure.

richer men are often unfazed by these accusations, while poorer men are hurt more. white men are often unaffected, while black men almost always suffer.

a man like donald trump, who has several accusations of rape but hasnt been punished, will often go off scot-free. but think about false accusations being used as a tool for lynching, such as with emmett till.

obviously its not as simple as that but i hope people understand race and class are what to look for, not gender. a black female teacher at my middle school was sent to jail for grooming one of her students, white male teachers i know get away with similar behaviors all the time.

Kinda fucked up that we all coo and sympathize with "former gifted kids" but never talk about the students who had to stay late after school or over the summer for remedial classes/clubs, who struggled to get above a C, who were given up on or punished. Who tried so hard to understand or just couldn't. Who were grouped with the "stupid kids" (a classmate called us that in remedial math btw)

Autistic kids and adhders who can't relate to their gifted peers and are constantly alienated by them. Kids who struggled in school due to dealing with a chronic or mental illness or physical/learning/developmental disability. Those of us who have had to drop out of highschool or college. Kids who worked so hard and wanted to be seen as smart, but never were. Who watched as their peers seem to fly by them in school, while they were left behind. Who were bullied and put down by those in the gifted and honors classes. Whose confidence was absolutely destroyed by education.

I love you all and I'm so sorry the school system failed you. I'm sorry you weren't properly accommodated and given the education you deserved. I'm sorry people put you down for something that they never had to fight for.

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday, just because l I like the cracks and bangs from the fireworks.

Some people are bothered by loud noises, some people can't handle chaotic environments like that, but others don't mind at all.

There is more than one way to be autistic.

You shouldn't say "be quiet around your autistic friends." You should say "Remember to talk to your friends (not just the neurodivergent ones) about what their needs and boundaries are."
