Please allow me a second manifesto at midnight. I’m seeing some people suggest that the new Dragon Age will give Solavellan too much prominence, overshadowing the other Inquisitor relationships, or even that it’s going to be considered canon (I’ve even seen claims that this means the rest of the romances are “wrong”—you know, Twitter). I truly marvel at people’s inventiveness. A game where Solas is one of the main characters—literally, it was going to be called Dreadwolf, for crying out loud—and people are surprised that an Inquisitor who romanced him might have some, minimal, importance? Honestly, as a hardcore Solavellan, I’m not expecting major significance or hugely relevant scenes between Solas and the Inquisitor. And no one has said that the other Inquisitor relationships will be ignored. In fact, I think it’s quite likely that characters like Dorian or Iron Bull will appear at some point, given their connections to Tevinter. Unless I’ve missed something, there’s been no confirmation that they won’t show up or at least be mentioned. In fact, who the Inquisitor romanced is one of the few things we can choose. There must be a reason!
This hatred of Solas—and by extension, Solavellan—seems completely ridiculous to me.
And btw, it's a game, some people are taking this FAR too serious.

I'm super excited about the new Dragon Age game, but I feel a bit alone in this. I keep seeing criticisms that I just don’t agree with (the top surgery scar nonsense, the combat system, the cartoony style…). I’m not even going to comment on the scar thing because it seems so insubstantial to me (and less about DA becoming “woke,” hello? are you new here? Fucking tourists). But I do have opinions about the combat system. One of my favorite combat systems is in Black Desert—it’s difficult to master but very dynamic and fun. I prefer it a thousand times over the traditional RPG combat style. Maybe I’m just too used to modern combat systems, but the main reason I could never get into Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 was because of the combat. I find it chaotic, overwhelming, and stressful when I can’t control everything: the constant waves of enemies, running out of spells… it all stresses me out. BG3’s turn-based system is way better, but I think action RPG combat is even more fun. So no, I’m not worried about DA:TV’s combat system; I’m thrilled.
The latest thing I’ve read is that fans are concerned about the reduced world customization options in the new game compared to previous titles. Honestly, I couldn’t care less. In Inquisition, we had the Keep, but let’s be honest—nothing really changed. Most of it wasn’t even acknowledged, and in the end, only a few small things made any difference. “But in the Codex they took it into account.” Oh, come on! What difference does it make? It’s completely trivial. Everyone can have their own headcanon and that’s it. Play the game based on your previous experiences, use your imagination. I don’t know, it just feels like people criticize just to criticize.
The one major issue I have is with how the company has treated its workers, which leaves me feeling conflicted. It’s upsetting to see so many people lose their jobs, and it makes it hard for me to fully enjoy being excited about this game because I don’t feel the company deserves it—but the workers absolutely do. I’m not sure who’s really to blame or what exactly happened, but I’m certain it’s not the fault of the people who actually made the game and poured their effort into it.
In short, I can't help to be very excited and I can't wait to play it.

At this point, I'm just going to say it: the whole final scene in the Living Waters was unnecessary. EVERYONE already knew that Grogu was Din's son, he just needed to say it at some point. There was no need to say "I adopt him". In fact, in my opinion, it's counterproductive because it implies that up to that point he wasn't his son. Doesn't the term foundling already mean "child adopted by a Mandalorian"?
Btw, the Ragnar thing was also pretty random. It would have been much better to make a small tribute to his father instead of a second baptism.

I wonder why Din's helmet is wet in this scene? According to pre-season leaks supposedly the "Mythosaur is awoken in the finale. It chases everyone around and causes a bunch of trouble before it is brought under control. (MSW)". And MSW got quite a few things right.
Is it possible that they got to film something like that but had to cut it for some reason? Too expensive perhaps? That would explain why the episode is so short. It would have been great.

About this season of The Mandalorian, it hurts me that they are not giving Din the development he deserves. Din needs to evolve as a character, what he is learning with Bo-Katan should make him start questioning his beliefs, even if he decides to follow the old ways in the end.
But for that we need some background. We know almost nothing about his past or the time he spent at Concordia and, considering Bo's past, I think they should talk about it. Bo and the Nite Owls were members of Death Watch, a criminal organization that was based on the same planet where Din grew up. There's no way he doesn't know who they were and surely the Children of the Watch had some sort of relationship with them, even if it was just a pact of neutrality. Surely the Children of the Watch did not agree with Pre Vizsla's vision, so they either broke away or never wanted to be part of the Death Watch in the first place, but something happened between them. I NEED them to mention it, please.
Considering how many times Concordia has been brought up this season, I'm hopeful that they will mention some of this in the two remaining episodes. Maybe even a visit to Concordia? It would be great if they had to go there and Bo and Din had a heart-to-heart conversation about their past. We've seen them work so well together, maybe it wouldn't hurt for them to have a little argument to cement their relationship.

I know I’ve been pretty inactive on the blog lately, mostly because I’m paying more attention to my Instagram…but, here’s something fun for you! Ha nope it’s not Batboys, I know you were thinking it, I KNOW IT. Kidding.
Anyway, these are the two main characters from K.D. Edwards’ Tarot Sequence series! I picked up his Last Sun a few months ago, just got the second book a couple of days ago, and I am hooked. It’s a genre-mashup fantasy-mystery-action story based on tarot Arcana that I can’t even describe and there’s tons of queer representation as well. The dialogue is what’s really drawing me, it’s HILARIOUS. Kind of reminds me of Midnighter banter, which is always a good thing!
