Monsterfucking is so normalized on Tumblr I kinda forgot it even counted as a kink. I thought it was like liking boobs on girls. The basic normal stuff most people like.

I feel like DMC4 Dante is heavily misunderstood and I blame the fact that his more in depth thoughts during the game are locked behind a novel that was only released in Japan.
People think 4 Dante was just fucking around the entire time and wasn’t taking the situation seriously, and it’s actually often used to hate on his characterization in that game and say he’s regressed since DMC1. But Deadly Fortune shines a completely different light on the situation (and also just contains a lot of story content that was going to be in the game but was cut due to time constraints) and shows that Dante was just ACTING silly and he was pretty worried the whole time about things like Trish being able to evacuate the citizens on time. He was also incredibly angry about how corrupt the order was, especially when Credo died. This is pretty consistent with his characterization in the early days due to the first two novels directly saying he acts this way on missions to put himself and others at ease.
If he acts confident that everything will be fine it reassures others. My favorite example is how in episode 1 of the Madhouse anime Patty was terrified because she was about to die until Dante showed up and said a silly one liner, which immediately cheered her up and made her feel safe.
Nero also says in the novels that Dante’s optimism in DMC4 is what saved him. It put Nero at ease and drove him to keep fighting.
Basically I’m saying Dante doesn’t act that way to be a dick or because he doesn’t care, but because it reassures others (and himself) that everything will be fine.
