Something I was always told. That I would never be able to fully heal unless I forgave the people that hurt me. It took me until very recently to realized that it's very much not true. It doesn't help me in the least, and they do not deserve an ounce of my sympathy. They deserve to rot with that feeling for what they did. #stopvictimblaming #stopvictimshaming #noforgiveness #endrapeculture #stopsilencingrapesurvivors https://www.instagram.com/p/CDmw0ECFWHw/?igshid=3od59th7wy2x

::::TRIGGER WARNING::: mention of Rapist and self healing through the years, but this is an important message for my family and people that knew my late brother. This is something I have to start doing. I'm sorry to any and all family members this may offend, upset or piss off, but as of this coming December, 12th, and next June the 4th, the anniversary and birthday of my late brother Louis Baron, I will not be online. And probably be unable to reach. Every single year, for the last almost 10 years, it's hard seeing his face flood my news feed. These are days that I cannot and will not be reminded of him. I'm refusing to allow those days to bring me down any longer. The horrible things he did to me (among other people, with whom I will not mention) cannot ever leave my mind, randomly sending me into flashback after flashback that literally take me out of reality and send me back, even 21 years later. It's definitely one of the many sources of my C-PTSD, and D.I.D. I understand it's not easy for people to read about someone they love, but it's even harder as someone that went through it for a year to talk about. I love you all, but I'm not sorry. This is something I have to do for myself. If at all possible, please try to stop tagging me in anything that is related to him. I know it's not your intentions, but I can't. If you made it this far.. thank you for taking the time to read.. #dissociativeidentitydisorder #cptsd #survivortherapy #endrapeculture #stopthesilence #traumatherapy #traumahealing #stopsilencingrapesurvivors #loubaron #traumaticflashbacks https://www.instagram.com/p/CDh9mFrldrO/?igshid=57p9tcj3qa1u

Current Situation in the DID community
You should never disrespect people with a serious disorder or make fun of it. DID is already heavily stigmatized so stop saying it’s ‘not a disorder’ or that it’s 'scary’. We are not your horror movie trope, We exist due to real severe trauma. We suffer daily due to PTSD. If you support Trisha Paytas, please block my account. She has lied about being transgender and having DID. This isn’t okay, she harms already harmed communities and spreads alot of misinformation.

if deaf and hoh people all knew sign language, it would be the second most common language in the world after chinese. the only reason this didn't happen is ablism.
Yes, there are many variations of sign language in the world, but let's face it: if hearing people knew at least one, we would make life much easier for a few percent of the 466 million people who are hoh/deaf.
why do people consider it important to learn second languages, whose speakers in your country can often be counted on the fingers, but no one considers importance of learning sign language? only in the usa there is 10 millions of people who are hoh and 1 million of people who are deaf. deaf people among you, accept it finally.

Wow this is accurate as fuck 😂
what people think internal communication is like with DID: normal paced dialogue, full sentences, taking turns to talk, hearing each thought fully and individually
what it’s actually like: instantaneous silent telepathy so quick you beg the headspace ‘STOP THINKING OVER EACH OTHER I CAN’T KEEP UP!!!’

PTSD & DID
Today I wanted to touch a little bit about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD.
A large part of having DID is also having and coping with PTSD. My therapist recommended a very helpful book and I would like to pass the recommendation on. It’s called “The PTSD Workbook: Simple, Effective Techniques for Overcoming Traumatic Stress Symptoms” and it is a pretty good starting point if you are just being diagnosed with PTSD. You can find it here.
Personally, I have “go to” strategies when dealing with PTSD, and that is what I would like to share.
Knowing my Triggers - Prevention is the key here. I think it is very important to know my triggers. That way I can avoid, a flashback, dissociative episode, or a switch. Knowing my triggers and avoid them all together is by far the easiest route to take, however, it’s not always practical. For instance, sometimes there are things that trigger me that I didn’t know where triggers or that are unavoidable; like the way a certain word is said or a look.
Grounding - Grounding is way for me to stay in the present when I feel I’m about to go into a flashback or dissociation. I used to think that a good way to do this was to listen to some music, until I realized that I dissociate into my music. But in may be a good way for you. Some ways I ground now are to smell a peppermint - I always have a few on me - or anything strong smelling, have a bite or sip of something sour, grab onto a piece of ice (this one isn’t very practical unless I’m at home or in a restaurant), or concentrate on my surrounds - for instance see how many red things I can find or count the chairs etc.
Meditation - As stress is a very big trigger for me, I like to meditate, especially if I know that the day is going to be a stressful one. This can be a preventative measure or one used as a way of avoiding an impeding flashback or dissociative state. Personally, I only use it as a preventative measure because if I use it as a deterrent I find it only pulls me into the flash back or dissociative state faster.
Bringing a friend - Sometimes the best thing you can do is have a friend around who knows about your PTSD/DID. I like to have my boyfriend around especially if I know I may be going into a triggering situation. This way if I do have flashback or switch, he is there to help me with it.
I hope this proves to be helpful to someone besides me. Again, I highly recommend this book to anyone who has been diagnosed with PTSD.
Thanks for reading. Until next time, Kay
