I love your art style, do you have any tips you could share on drawing / coloring?

Hi, thank you !! 💙💙 It took me a little while thinking about this because whenever I draw I'm more driven by instinct than following methodical steps. Still I've tried to gather some general "tips" I personally try to apply whenever I draw 🙌

I'll demonstrate everything on an old doodle I wanted to redraw for fun. ⤵️

1. LINE CLARITY ✨️✨️ (for other lazy ppl like me who don't like to do lineart yet want readable lines)

Ok so I absolutely hate lineart, personally it takes aways all the whimsy of my rough sketch. So instead I clean my sketch. Even better I pick a default pen with no pression nor opacity settings to force myself to keep clear lines.

Altough I've noticed my sketch once finished lacks some volume. That's where few well placed thick lines saves your days and makes your drawing pop.

If you you're used to draw with sensitive brushes while sketching tho it's totally fine, you all rock even ! I just think breaking this line weight thingy into two steps just makes it easier to control and understand.

2. Good silhouette

This one is not original at all and you've all heard or seen it once but I consider it super important. Especially if you want to achieve dynamic poses or shapes, it's good to keep in mind how your whole character looks like when they're colored with flat colors.

And yes exactly... it looks like a huge blob in my case because of the weird outfit. Yet you can notice how some belts are poking out of the general shape to keep things interesting. It's not because the pose is static that it cannot be dynamic ! Also as shown on the picture you can use the black flat color to spot weird tangents or shapes you're not satisfied with...

3. Don't feel restricted and keep refining and creating !

Lastly just keep having fun and exploring concepts by pushing your silly doodle further. Here I just wanted to check back the anatomy because I tend to skip that part and draw the outfit directly on the character first... And there just by figuring out how his legs where under the robe I got the idea the character could be walking justifying why his foot was poking like that out of the fabric.

So in the end it may be a chaotic process because you start with one concept and end up with ten new ones but I think that's a good thing 'cause you get to experiment, refine your original idea and also you get to chose wich one you like best !

That's it, I'm not going to give advices for coloring or rendering because uh tbh I think I kinda suck at it, since usually I never really bother going further than shading a piece and adding few highlights 😋

But that's something I'm trying to learn atm, so if I find anything useful in the future I'll share it there. Hope these were useful nevertheless ! 🙏

I'm still alive and well. I just got badly artblocked these past months + my load of homework was difficult to deal with, but hey ! I made it and now I'm on vacations.

So yeah first, I wanted to apologize for completly abandoning this account... But also I wanted to thank you all because you seemed to really enjoy my last post so I'm really happy about this. 🙏🙏💕💕💕

Like fr 😭 someone even made some sort of analysis on the first piece that was so delightful to read, as well as all the other kind comments I got. So thanks again !

As for now, I'm still stressing a lot about posting on social medias again so I'll take it slow. But you can expect some new content from me in the next days :)

I'm still into V3 and Kokichi of course but I'd like to take the opportunity to draw stuff from other fandoms too so I'll hope I'll get to that.

SPOILERS FOR AMALGAMATE CHAPTER 20 BELOW ‼️ CW FOR MEDICAL/BODY HORROR AND BRIGHT COLORS

Please please please please, BEGGING AND WAILING read this fanfiction by DoctorHaifisch on Ao3, it's SOOOO GOOD !! 😭 Words cannot describe what did I just experienced while reading the whole thing but I can surely say that it made it to my favorite fic top.

First of I was just immediatly enthralled by how well Kokichi was characterized (I'm a simple woman, I see good Kokichi content, I click).

But then I quickly realised everyone else was super well written ? Even Kaito who's a character at the very beggining of my Danganronpa V3 journey I didn't really like at all because idk I guess I couldn't see clear through him and I would just label him as the hothead guy with a hero complex...

But omg with this fic you opened my eyes and unraveled something in my brain, even if it sounds dumb I think I never realised before the potential Kokichi/Kaito had together and the undeniable bound there must be between these two after what they experienced in the hangar in Chap. 5.

So just for that, thank you for making me appreciate and love Kaito where the game apparently couldn't and thank you for making me love Kokichi even more if that was even possible.

Now these two purple guys are very very dear to me and I want them and their classmates to have their happy ending after all they've endured 🥹

As for the art here, I had to redraw that beautiful art piece the author made for Chap. 20 because I'm a sucker for angsty stuff and also I was captured by how emotional and impactful it was displaying the sheer horror Kokichi experienced at some point of that chapter.

I'll definitively make more art for this fanfiction later, the only reason I've never done that before being that I didn't like how I drew Kaito but now I think I got a design I'm happy with, so be warned there will be content >:)
