The Chosen: Season 4 Episode 1 Recap
Mary and Elizabeth’s prophetic encounter in The Chosen
The Chosen Season 4 Episode 1 begins with Mary, who is pregnant, visiting her cousin Elizabeth, who is also pregnant, after receiving a word from the messenger. Mary’s voice from the door causes the baby to kick Elizabeth’s womb. Elizabeth brings Mary into her house and shares the story of the messenger’s meeting with Zecharia, who became mute due to his refusal to believe. Elizabeth names her newborn baby John to bring Israel closer to God and prepare the way for Mary’s son Jesus.
Salome’s dance rehearsal for King Herod’s birthday
Tumblr media
In the following scene, Herodias’ daughter Salome is forced to rehearse dancing for King Herod’s birthday. Herodias is King Herod’s second wife. The teacher ensures flawless execution of the dance movements and techniques. Despite learning her dance moves, her mother still insists on practicing to avoid mistakes and ensure perfection.
Big James and John help Zebedee with anointed oil delivery
Big James and John, often known as the “Brothers of Thunder,” assist their father Zebedee in delivering anointed oil to the high priest. While Thomas is eager to meet Ramah, they cross paths with Shula and Barnaby, who are also looking for Ramah, who has recently returned from Capernaum.
Joanna’s secret meeting and marital strain in The Chosen
In the following scene, Joanna (last seen in season 3 episode 1), a secret disciple of Jesus and John the Baptist, is caught by her husband Chuza (Herod’s manager) and accused of meeting John the Baptist. Their marriage is strained due to Chuza’s affair with Cassandra.
Simon Z and Judas discuss ministry priorities
The next scene features Simon Z and Judas washing clothes while Judas discusses the ministry. Judas believes that boring chores should be delegated to others, while disciples should prioritize spreading Jesus’ message. Judas criticizes Jesus for not accepting offerings, but Simon Z reassures him of his uniqueness. He makes use of the washing of clothes to explain a new way of thinking.
Zebedee’s successful contract victory with the High Priest
Zebedee, his sons, Little James, and Tamar visit the High Priest to investigate the oil, but Tamar is denied access. The high priest then inspects the oil. Zebedee’s support from Yussif and Jairus leads to their successful contract victory.
Joanna warns John the Baptist of his death in The Chosen
Joanna sneaks out to meet John the Baptist in jail, while Salome’s dancing instructor discusses progress with Herodias. Following this, Herodias describes the aim of the dance. If Herod is satisfied, he will provide Salome with everything she wishes. Herodias wants to punish John for disrespecting her. Joanna refuses to see John the Baptist and informs him that he will be killed. John, unconcerned, tells Joanna that the road of the Lord (Jesus) has been prepared.
Thomas and Ramah’s marriage plans
The following scene features Thomas and Ramah. Thomas asks Ramah if her father agreed. However, the father disagrees since he does not embrace Jesus’ beliefs. Ramah proposes that the groom (Thomas) present the bride with a valuable thing. Thomas picks John and Jesus as witnesses, and all they have to do is exchange vows. The two become quite excited.
John the Baptist’s execution and flashback in The Chosen
Joanna skips the celebration in Judea and rushes to Capernaum to alert the disciples about John’s fate. Salome charms King Herod with her performance, and Herod agrees to grant her wish. Herod is taken aback when Salome suggests beheading John the Baptist. As John is about to be killed, we get a flashback to the circumcision ritual. Elizabeth instructs the local Rabbi to name the infant John per the messenger. Zechariah acknowledges the messenger by speaking after consenting to the name and remaining silent.
In the present day, John learns he will be beheaded on a silver wedding plate. He chuckles since he has never attended a wedding, which confuses the guards. Before being beheaded, he notices a lamb outside the window and expresses gratitude to God. When the Rabbi who baptized John meets with Jesus, he discovers that John’s prophesy has been fulfilled. Jesus shreds his robe in grief for his cousin’s death.
Disciples gather and console each other in Capernaum
In the following scene of The Chosen, the disciples gather in Capernaum, where Thomas confesses his desire to marry Ramah. While the disciples celebrate, Matthew observes Joanna, who is looking for Andrew. Joanna weeps without saying a word, and Andrew understands.
The disciples console Andrew, as John tells how he came to prepare the way for Jesus. The story concludes with Jesus being shown with a tattered robe and ash on his head, indicating his awareness of the situation.

On the night of the party, Mr. Park introduces the new bodyguard and the man who saved her life, Do-Yoon.
Red Swan Episode 1 Review
Delving into episode 1 of “Red Swan,” it’s evident that the drama falls short despite its beautiful aesthetics and ideal plot setting. For various reasons, the interactions fail to ignite the desired feelings we would expect, lacking tension or thrills.
The first interaction between Wan-Soo and Do-Yoon is critical to the drama, but it does not deliver the required intensity. The assassination attempt and subsequent rescue could have been more thrilling and glorious.
The scene at Do-Yoon’s stay was progressing well until the moment he wiped the blood off Wan-Soo’s face, which felt awkward and forced. Building a good relationship takes time, and it would have been much better if the two had shown some restraint before finally giving in to their feelings.
We’ve still got the entire show ahead of us, and the premise is promising. Let’s hope the drama makes good on its potential! If you’re looking for more K-Dramas to watch this July, here are the Top 5 K-Dramas for July 2024.

Miss Night And Day (K-Drama): Episodes 9 & 10 Review | The Drama Scoop
Tumblr media
In episodes 9 and 10 of Miss Night and Day, Ji-ung, Byung-duk, and Lim-sun can be seen suspecting Baek Chul-kyu and gathering evidence against him. This weekend’s episodes also feature Mi-jin and Ji-ung misunderstanding each other. Meanwhile, Ko-won expresses his feelings for Mi-jin. Our article “Miss Night And Day (K-Drama): Episodes 9 & 10 Review” contains major spoilers.
In the closing credits of episode 10, Ji-ung takes a leave from work after falling sick. Mi-jin pays him a visit at his home, and he asks her to stay. We also see Lim-sun with a tape on her mouth, implying that she may have been abducted by Baek Chul-kyu.
Furthermore, it seems like Ko-won plays a more important role in the drama. The fact that he readily accepted Lim-sun’s transformation into Mi-jin raises suspicions. We might be going overboard here, but he could be the actual serial killer, and Baek Chul-kyu could be working for him.
Highlights Of Episode 9
Mi-jin leans in for a kiss, but Ji-ung blocks it with his hand, assuming she is about to bump her head against his.
Mi-jin runs into Ji-ung at the supermarket while shopping with Ga-young after leaving Ji-ung’s house.
The next day, Mi-jin, who has transformed into Lim-sun, finds it difficult to work alongside Ji-ung.
After further investigating the missing persons case, Ji-ung suspects the dead body is in the reservoir. Just as he expected, the victim’s body is discovered peeking out of the reservoir.
Since Fentanyl was discovered in Baek Chul-kyu’s late wife’s system as well, Lim-sun, Ji-ung, and Byung-duk have grown increasingly suspicious of him as the serial killer.
Lim-sun, Ji-ung, and Byung-duk conduct an operation to gather evidence against Baek Chul-kyu.
Baek Chul-kyu appears as Lim-sun searches his office for evidence. As a result, she hides in his closet.
Highlights Of Episode 10
While carrying out the operation, Lim-sun picks up Baek Chul-kyu’s razor and overhears him talking about her aunt and her blood type.
On the other hand, Ji-ung discovers a suspicious medicine, and Byung-duk locates and photographs fentanyl in the pharmacy.
Lim-sun and Ko-won look for the strange cat together. While Mi-jin is away, Ko-won answers her phone, which upsets Ji-ung who’s on the other end of the call.
Byung-duk learns that the drugs are moved to Obongsan Mountain. Following this, Ji-ung, Byung-duk, and Lim-sun go there and find the drugs that had been buried.
Byung-duk and Ko-won drink together. When Ji-ung goes to pick Byung-duk, Ko-won confesses his feelings for Mi-jin.
Lim-sun goes on to confirm that the drugs found at the medical center are identical to those found buried on the mountain.
Following this, Ji-ung instructs Byung-duk to obtain a warrant.
Ji-ung pays a visit to Mi-jin, but they continue to misunderstand each other.
After Ji-ung leaves, Ko-won visits Mi-jin and confesses his feelings for her. While this is going on, Ji-ung returns to speak with Mi-jin and finds the two of them together.
Miss Night And Day (K-Drama): Episodes 9 & 10 Review
Tumblr media
Positives
Episodes 9 and 10 of Miss Night and Day raised the stakes of the drama and essentially served as the show’s crescendo. The show’s tension has increased significantly in both the serial killer and love triangle storylines.
This nail-biting tension of the kdrama has us on the edge of our seats, wondering if Baek Chul-kyu is the serial killer and if the trio can find evidence against him before he gets his hands on Lim-sun. Furthermore, the will they/won’t they situation between Mi-jin and Ji-ung is exciting, and their chemistry is palpable.
Negatives
While the kdrama has many elements that work well for the show, it does have flaws. For instance, the romantic storyline involving Mi-jin and Ji-ung is painfully slow, and the show barely focuses on them, leaving viewers frustrated.
Miss Night And Day Episodes 9 & 10: Our Verdict
Overall, episodes 9 and 10 of Miss Night and Day were engaging, entertaining, and thrilling. While the show excels at comedic timing and keeping us interested in the love triangle, the romantic storyline appears to be paced very slowly, making it feel dragged and overlooked in favor of the crime storyline.

Pil-seung takes Ji-young and Ji-young’s grandmother out, rekindling old feelings between them.
When Pil-seung drops Ji-young home, he assures her that he will always be by her side. Jin-dan, on the other hand, spots them together and grows envious.
The debtors begin to press Mi-ja into paying the debt, and she receives an offer from Jin-dan to pay her debt in exchange for being with Ji-young.
Mi-ja manipulates and persuades Ji-young to date Jin-dan in order to save Do-sik and Do-joon.
Ae-kyo has Soo-yeon and Pil-seung’s DNA tested, which confirms that they are mother and son.
Ae-kyo proves that Soo-yeon and Pil-seung are related to Jin-taek and Dae-sook.

Ma-ri struggles after Soo-yeon leaves the house. Following this, Pil-seung and Geum-ja reassure and support her.
After Mi-ja manipulates her, Ji-young reluctantly starts dating Jin-dan. She doesn’t seem interested in him, though.
Soo-yeon goes to Jin-taek’s office and apologizes to him. She goes on to explain her situation to him, but he suggests a separation.
We then see Soo-yeon faint in the office building, after which Pil-seung takes her to the hospital and Sun-young looks after her needs.
Following the major revelation, Jin-dan steps in and does everything he can to remove Pil-seung from the position of drama director at GOGO Entertainment.
After seeing Pil-seung drinking alone, Ji-young joins him and consoles him. When Jin-dan sees them together, he gets furious.
Jin-dan pays a visit to Ji-young’s building and asks that she stay away from Pil-seung.
The drama’s staff protest the APP group’s decision to halt production.
Beauty and Mr. Romantic (K-Drama): Episodes 33 & 34 Review
Positives
In episodes 33 and 34 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic, tensions are at an all-time high. On one hand, Soo-yeon is about to get divorced, and Pil-seung is about to lose his job as director at GOGO Entertainment. Mi-ja, on the other hand, manipulates Ji-young into dating Jin-dan in order to repay her debt. These plot twists will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.
The kdrama has a reputation for presenting outrageous situations, which works well for the show and, ultimately, keeps us coming back for more. In some ways this kdrama is similar to a toxic relationship; the extreme highs and lows act as a drug, keeping you engaged.
Negatives
While the episodes keep you hooked, they can also be frustrating. The kdrama currently has nothing pleasant going on, which is certainly upsetting to watch. We can only hope that the resolution is worth going through these unpleasant plot twists.
Beauty and Mr. Romantic Episodes 33 & 34: Our Verdict
Overall, episodes 33 and 34 of our favorite K- drama Beauty and Mr. Romantic are entertaining, albeit somewhat unpleasant. The kdrama has also teased some fascinating developments during its credits, so it will be interesting to see where the show goes from here.

Tumblr media
In episodes 31 and 32 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic, Pil-seung and his family deal with the aftermath of discovering that Soo-yeon is his biological mother. Ji-young, on the other hand, receives a surprise visit from her grandmother, which causes her grandmother to bond with Pil-seung. Furthermore, after experiencing guilt over abandoning Pil-seung, Soo-yeon considers divorcing Jin-taek. Our article, “Beauty and Mr. Romantic (Kdrama): Episodes 31 & 32 Review” contains major spoilers.
By the end of this weekend’s episodes, the kdrama’s ending credits suggest that Ae-kyo discovers Pil-seung is Soo-yeon’s biological son. Furthermore, after being kidnapped by the loan shark, Mi-ja goes to Jin-dan for money. He agrees to pay her money as long as she does what he says. Given her track record, it is not far-fetched to expect her to pimp out her daughter yet again.
Episode 32 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic concludes with a hint at potential future twists. Given the kdrama’s reputation for mind-blowing plot twists, we may be going too far, but we’re assuming the new tenant has some important connection to one or more of our characters. Could he be Pil-seung’s biological father? Or perhaps he has other ties to an important character on the show, only time will tell.
Highlights Of Episode 31
Pil-seung overhears the chaos in his home and discovers that Soo-yeon is his birth mother.
Ji-young’s grandmother pays a visit to Pil-seung’s home while experiencing a dementia episode.
Pil-seung takes Ji-young’s grandmother to her house, which warms Ji-young’s heart.
Mi-ja isn’t happy with Ji-young’s grandmother’s presence in her house.
When Pil-seung returns home, he reassures Sun-young and Hyeon-cheol that he is their son.
Pil-seung confronts Soo-yeon for deceiving his family, particularly his mother, Sun-young.
Ma-ri is having a difficult time and falls sick because she is unable to visit Pil-seung and his family anymore.
Pil-seung assures Ma-ri that she can see him on occasion and that he thinks of her as his little sister.
Jin-taek pays a visit to Sun-young to resolve the conflict between her and Soo-yeon. However, she does not tell him anything about the issue at hand.
Jin-taek uses gifts to try to cheer Soo-yeon up. However, she breaks down when he tries to figure out what’s wrong so he can help her.
Highlights Of Episode 32
Soo-yeon asks Jin-taek for a divorce and leaves the house.
Ma-ri visits Soo-yeon and tries to persuade her to stay married to her father. However, Soo-yeon is filled with guilt and wishes to go abroad.
Ma-ri, unable to cope with her parents’ potential divorce, goes to a bar on her own.
After learning that she has gone missing, Pil-seung and Soo-yeon find Ma-ri at a bar.
After witnessing Ma-ri’s struggle, Pil-seung persuades Soo-yeon to stay married to Jin-taek.
Pil-seung takes Ji-young and her grandmother out into the city.
Ji-young tears up after seeing her grandmother happy while spending time with Pil-seung.
Jin-dan takes Tae-hee wedding dress shopping, but he can’t stop thinking about Do-ra.
Jin-dan discovers Mi-ja beneath her home and begs her to help him see Ji-young, who reminds him of Do-ra.
The loan sharks find Mi-ja and kidnap her because she owes them money.
Beauty and Mr. Romantic (K-drama): Episodes 31 & 32 Review
Positives
The k-Drama has always excelled at keeping viewers guessing with jaw-dropping plot twists, and episodes 31 & 32 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic were no exception. The show has handled Pil-seung and his family’s discovery of his biological mother in the most dramatic way possible, which is largely what makes the show so entertaining.
Tumblr media
Ji-Young’s grandmother appears and entertains us in Beauty and Mr. Romantic episodes 31 and 32, adding to the humor. Her jabs at Mi-Ja are particularly amusing because she does what viewers want to do to her.
Negatives
While episodes 31 and 32 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic contain numerous amusing, entertaining, and dramatic moments, they also have flaws. What makes the K-Drama so addictive is also what makes it seem ridiculous at times: drama.
Beauty and Mr. Romantic has a tendency to overdo its drama to the point of melodrama, which can be annoying. Many viewers have complained about the physical violence on the show, which is a valid criticism. In terms of drama, the K-Drama occasionally loses its footing and deviates into unpleasant territory.
Beauty & Mr. Romantic: Our Verdict
Overall, episodes 31 and 32 of Beauty and Mr. Romantic provided an entertaining ride with plenty of amusing and dramatic moments. However, the show tends to overdo drama to increase its entertainment value. However, this does not detract from the show’s appeal, as it continues to entertain us week after week.

Miss Night And Day (K-Drama): Episodes 7 & 8 Review
Positives
The K-Drama has consistently excelled in terms of humour, and episodes 7 & 8 of Miss Night and Day are no exception. The antics of Mi-jin when she transforms into Lim-sun truly makes you laugh, whether she breaks into a dance or simply is out of place. Additionally, the bit where Mi-jin was ranting about Ji-ung while he was standing behind her was simply hilarious, contributing to the comedic value of the show.
The show’s romantic storyline, which includes Ji-ung and Mi-jin, is also quite charming. It’s particularly heartwarming to see how Mi-jin’s family treats Ji-ung, especially given that he never received love and tenderness from his parents.

Negatives
While episodes 7 and 8 of Miss Night and Day excel at comedy and romance, the crime and supernatural storylines take a back seat. We predicted that the show’s attempt to juggle too many genres would result in it failing to do justice to some of them, and this is exactly what has happened. There seems to be so much going on in the K-drama that you’re not really interested in the serial killer storyline, despite the fact that the show focuses on it a lot.
Furthermore, Miss Night and Day appears to completely ignore the supernatural element, treating Mi-jin’s transformation as normal at this point. Why aren’t Mi-jin and Ga-young working harder to locate the mysterious cat? How did Ko-won accept Mi-jin’s strange transformation so easily? At the moment, the show appears to be lacking in this department. We hope it makes up for it in the upcoming episodes.
Miss Night And Day: Our Verdict
Overall, episodes 7 and 8 of Miss Night and Day provided plenty of amusing and heartwarming moments to keep us entertained and content. The K-Drama, however, does not appear to be doing justice to its crime and supernatural storylines. We hope that things improve in the upcoming episodes as the K-Drama does seem to have a lot of potential.

My Sweet Mobster: Episode 7 & 8 Recap and Review | The Drama Scoop
Tumblr media
My Sweet Mobster Episode 7 Recap
Episode 7 of “My Sweet Mobster” begins with Seo Ji-Hwan huddling with Ko Eun-Ha until help arrives. She soon finds herself waking up in the hospital with Seo Seo Ji-Hwan beside her.
Later, Ku Mi-Ho meets Joo Il-Young in the elevator. Il-Young expresses his regrets about their previous meeting which upsets her.
Eun-Ha learns that Prosecutor Jang is visiting her and heads to the reception to ensure he doesn’t cross paths with Seo Ji-Hwan.
The next morning, Ku Mi-Ho wakes up with a catch in her neck, which Il-Young massages away. Eun-Ha forcefully sends Ku Mi-Ho with Il-Young against her wish, and he gets spotted by her father. Her father appears strict but soon treats him very hospitably.
After being released from the hospital, Eun-Ha goes to visit Seo Ji-Hwan in his office. Kang Ye-Na, desperate not to lose the deal, attempts to eat a sausage. Eun-Ha misunderstands Seo Ji-Hwan and grabs her hand.
Prosecutor Jang learns about Ta Wan and the drug deal, and his team begins to make preparations. That same night, Seo Ji-Hwan sorts things out with Eun-Ha.
Seo Ji-Hwan’s team gets information on where the drug deal will happen and anonymously passes the information to Prosecutor Jang.
Prosecutor Jang gives Eun-Ha arts and crafts materials and takes her to play with the kids.
My Sweet Mobster Episode 8 Recap
in Episode 8 of My Sweet Mobster, Eun-Ha returns home, and Seo Ji-Hwan hands her the time capsule she had hidden years ago. She is pleased to find it and asks Prosecutor Jang to meet her.
We see a flashback of 10 years ago when Cat Company attempted to gang up and kill Seo Ji-Hwan, severely injuring him in the fight. Later, Prosecutor Jang spots him and mistakes him for being the cause of the violence.
Following the flashback, vigilantes tail Ta Wan’s group as they leave with the drugs. The vigilantes manage to forcefully stop their car.
Go Yang-Hee arrives at the location, and they begin to torture Jung Yoon-Taek. Just then, Seo Seo Ji-Hwan arrives and takes Go Yang-Hee hostage. This allows Il-Young to free Yoon-Taek but leaves Seo Ji-Hwan alone. The gang runs a car into him and begins to torture him.
Meanwhile, the police arrive and arrest everyone on-site, including Seo Ji-Hwan. Eun-Ha and the others await him while Prosecutor Jang interrogates Seo Ji-Hwan. Prosecutor Jang tells him that Eun-Ha has confused the two of them about who she knew as a child because Seo Ji-Hwan has changed his name.
Upon reaching home, he tells Eun-Ha that he doesn’t have feelings for her and she is simply a tenant. This pushes Eun-Ha away from him.
The next night, she goes to meet Prosecutor Hyun Woo and shows him the time capsule. She returns home and tells Seo Ji-Hwan that she will not see him anymore.
My Sweet Mobster Episode 7 & 8 Recap and Review
Seo Ji-Hwan’s is Ko Eun-Ha’s childhood friend
We have been living a lie. For the first seven episodes of My Sweet Mobster, the drama had us believe the kid from Eun-Ha’s childhood was indeed Prosecutor Jang. This far into the story, it almost requires you to alter your belief system. Imagine the hurt Eun-Ha might have gone through knowing Seo Ji-Hwan hid it from her all this time.
Seo Ji-Hwan and Ko Eun-Ha’s relationship
The relationship between Seo Ji-Hwan and Eun-Ha is unnecessarily complicated, but that’s what makes it an interesting story to follow. It seems like they keep alternately swinging close to and then away from each other. However, the direction this show is heading with their relationship is quite saddening. The current circumstances cannot be blamed on either of them. While it seems to be Seo Ji-Hwan’s fault for pushing her away, bear in mind that Eun-Ha has been meeting Prosecutor Jang for a while, and Seo Ji-Hwan has reason to believe she has feelings for the Prosecutor because she thinks he is her childhood friend. Eun-Ha has many valid reasons too, but I think they are self-explanatory.
Drama Analysis
The show has been consistent with the pace, storyline, intensity, thrill, humor, and everything important. Despite being a rom-com, the show showcases incredible fight scenes and creates a decent gangster sort of environment as well. The creators of the drama have executed the action scenes in a fairly realistic manner, considering the tone and genre of the drama. The dive into Seo Ji-Hwan’s past was quite essential and gives us some major context of the feud between Prosecutor Jang and Seo Ji-Hwan.
The Awkward Couple?
Let’s talk about the weirdos of the show. I’ll get a lot of hate for this, but Il-Young and Ku Mi-Ho are both awkward characters. Il-Young looks dashing, smart, and mature, but there’s also this confused and indecisive look on his face all the time. But granted, this also adds to his charm. Ku Mi-Ho is quite evidently the loud, bossy, and entitled character and that creates a stark contrast in how she behaves with Il-Young before and after the interaction in the lift.
What do you think about the new revelation in this episode? What do you think is the next turn in Seo Ji-Hwan and Ko Eun-Ha’s lives?
