Finished my blanket :)))
Finished this knitted crop top :)))
I really like how it turned out, I've used the pattern before, but this time I made it more cropped (I have a high waist/shirt torso, so cropped things don't always look cropped on me...)
I've also been working on a 'scrapy blanket' made out of all my leftover yarn from previous projects. This is it's current size (small dog for scale), but I can't add anymore till I visit my parents (so I can steal my mum's scrap yarn as well)

They're done!!!
I love them :))))
Finally finished a pair of socks that I started almost a year ago (I did take it apart multiple times and restart, but still)
This is them:
So now I've started my next pair and it's my first time doing a cable pattern. It's not as complicated as I thought it would be and I think it's going really well.
I'm really enjoying making socks at the moment, I'll keep updating with my progress, but I'm hoping to slowly replace all of my fast fashion socks as they wear out with hand knitted ones in good quality wool.

Auch, that hits too close to home...
"are you single or taken??" a secret third thing actually (melancholic about being aromantic but still yearning for a feeling of romance that's never gonna happen)

Look, you can pry the concept of Camila, Darius and Eda having a support group for parents of ‘should be extinct kids’ out of my cold, dead hands.
Obviously based on this iconic image:

I completely forgot to update this...
Here r the photos from the event, I finished the embroidery the day before, and made the reticule day of.
It's been my biggest sewing project so far, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing something like this again :))
Starting a *regency* project!!!!
I'll be attending a regency inspired ball in June, so I've been planning out a full regency outfit to make specially for the event. I've never done regency before (I'll even admit that I never liked the look of it, but it is growing on me...), so I've had to do some research for this project.
This is what I have planned:
- A chemise/shift I made previously
- Short stays
- Petticoat (with straps/suspenders to stop it slipping down to my waist)
- Dress (green with gold embroidery and beading)
- Potentially an open robe/overdress (ive seen these on some fashion playes for ball gown, and it may be a good way to have a train without ppreventing me from re-wearing the dress day to day. It would be gold, with a train, crossing under the bust at the front)
- A gold ring I already own, and a green ribbon around my neck, potentially some more gold jewellery
- Black leather boots
- Stockings that I made previously
- Reticule (Potentially sewn, or I've come across a crochet pattern...?)
I've decided to document this project here so that I can look back on it and see the progress I've made. (If someone other than me actually sees this, then I encourage you to try some historical clothing, I wear it day to day and love it!!!)

Your short stays look wonderful! If you don't mind me asking, what pattern did you use for them?
Thanks! I used the "short regency stay 1800-1820" pattern from the etsy shop "PatternCosPatterns" :)))

I see a lot of people who tell young people–especially young people who are heading into college–that they should “do what they love.” And they’re right. You should do what you love.
But there’s a world of difference between doing what you love for you, and doing what you love for a paycheck.
I went to undergrad for graphic design and 3-D design–art and more art, I usually say–and I loved it. You know what I didn’t love? Trying to collect my fees from clients. Trying to meet unrealistic, over-simplified or over-specific briefs from people who didn’t know what they were talking about. Coming home, having worked creatively all day, with no creative juice left for the things I wanted to do.
You know what I would tell you instead? Do something that you can be interested in, with people you like.
You don’t have to love it. Loving your work can be a lot, and it often means you have to live in your job 24/7. Some people can do that. Not everyone can, or should. But if you can find work that’s interesting enough that it doesn’t feel tedious, and people you can enjoy spending your 9-5 with, and you can make money, that’s great! It means you can do the things you love for you.
I’m in law school now. It’s interesting work, and difficult, and I like doing it. I like how complicated it gets, and I like the stories it tells. But I don’t come home and read law journals for fun. I come home, and I sculpt, and I draw, and I paint, and I read. I do these things for me.
And I love it.

It's done!!!!!
I stitched downtrend waistband, then sewed two trips for the straps, attached them, and uses 2 hooks and eyes to fasten the back.
The second hook and eye was not actually necessary, I just get annoyed when the exta fabric where a skirt overlaps starts to hang down.
Finally, it's time to start the dress!!!!!
Very daunting and it will probably take a while since my exams start on tuesday :////
But it should be fun, I just hope it's ready in time for the ball...
