Bids: I finally put the 3 Cranium pieces up for open bids for good. I will let it run a few days and see how that turns out. Posted this on Reddit and Discord but I'm not going to spam every channel. It just doesn't feel right and I don't care how much someone is willing to pay. I just go on and create and let everything work out organically. Speaking of bids: I have received my first bid on Cranium - Alpha and I feel very humbled. Rarible: Despite my concerns about my missing Twitter and Instagram I submitted my profile for verification. And lo and behold .... it got rejected. They were kind enough to let me edit my submission and I filled in more details and added more making-of screenshots of the render scenes. I really hope that this doesn't fail because of Twitter. Have we really come this far that art needs to be tied to a social media platform? I know many artists who don't even have a smartphone. I hope Rarible is different than the other platforms and they let me have that badge so people don't get a warning that I'm not verified. Work: I already started working on 2 new pieces that might be done this or next month. These things take a lot of time and I don't want to rush any ideas. I still didn't delete the other workfiles and in light of the badge verification it was a good decision, so I can provide them with more proof these are made by me. Can't wait to burn it to the ground. ~draedge I might get verified

I was sick for some time, but I'm almost back to full health and will continue working on my projects. A few updates: Website I now have my own crypto website with Unstoppable Domains: draedge.crypto It can be accessed natively with the Brave browser or you need to install an extension to resolve .crypto domains. It's just a template for now and the setup took forever, but once I get more familiar with IPFS I can build something that I can update and care for. Opensea -> Rarible I originally had my works on Opensea because the gas costs at that time were so high and they have a lazy minting model. It also meant that I did not have to destroy the workfiles yet, since minting happens when someone buys it. But the more I thought about it, the more it didn't feel right. The whole idea was to let go and I was just postponing the inevitable. Furthermore every NFT is bound to the same smart contract at Opensea and I don't want my work to be thrown together with everyone else. So I decided to go with Rarible instead and created my own DRAEDGE ERC721 contract. (A nice side effect is that they also appear on Opensea automatically). The only downside: Rarible also has a "verified" badge that is a default when you browse and I probably wont get one without a Twitter or Instagram. But at least I now have my art in my wallet now. Burning Bridges Now that 3 of the Cranium pieces are minted I finally need to shred their workfiles. The journey has started and there is no going back now. ~draedge I am not verified

It’s been 2 days now since I went down my path and I realized it has become very hard to stay anonymous on the web. I tried to make social media accounts, but ultimately failed because of spam filters or the necessity to provide a phone number for verification, real name etc. A burner phone number? Maybe. But I'd need to use it again if verification kicks in. Anonymous sim card? Still connects to a cell tower. I also can’t have anything that needs a paid subscription. So what's left ? youtube : can’t create an account without a phone number gmail : same as youtube or anything google basically twitter : account created, blocked asking for phone facebook : account created, blocked asking for phone reddit : account created, shadowbanned (VPN?) artstation : needs a facebook account for verification instagram : account created, blocked asking for phone telegram : needs a phone number. protonmail : working vimeo : working. Though there is an upload limit unless you pay tumblr : working deviantart : working discord : working pinterest : working Now I at least have an email, chat, blogging, an art forum and video service. I still have some art related forums on my list, but youtube, twitter and artstation were so far the biggest bummers. And if Microsoft buys discord then that one will go down the shitter too. The vimeo 5GB limit won't last me forever so I have to find something better. Jokingly I thought about PornHub, which would be ridiculous, but still better than any of those personal data hoarders. During my search I found some social media alternatives that look interesting, but have far fewer users than the big guys: Mastodon, Minds and Cent. Need to test them more and see what happens. I have not tried any portfolio or website builders yet, but I don't like the idea of ads running on my shit. I'm currently looking into domains that are decentralized and live on the blockchain as a token. I also don't have a portfolio yet except for one piece, so no biggie. This will take some time. My other "me" usually doesn't blog much, but I want to have some kind of a diary of my journey. Let's hope tumblr doesn't block my ass too. ~draedge I am nothing
