Dorcas was about to argue with Marlene when she said they were not doing a hot. A sly smirk appearing on her lips at the mention of plenty. "You had me worried McKinnon. I was about to ask if my best friend was an imposter." The witch took her shot at the same time. "We have to warm up, the last thing we want is to be sloppy by the end of the night." She knew that one of their friends would make sure they got home. "How many tequila shots do we need?"
While she hadn't been in her best spirits for Christmas, Marlene was definitely in a great mood for this holiday. Always quite excited to begin a new year, this one in particular was special, 1980 had to be better, especially considering the last year had been anything but good to her. When she spotted Dorcas, she beamed, her eyes shining at the chance to have an entertaining and careless night with one of her best friends. "We're not doing a shot, Doe, we're doing plenty." The brunette exclaimed excitedly, taking the glass from the table and downing the shot in one sip, laughter flowing from her lips. "Merlin, this is not even the good stuff, babe. We need tequila." Marlene sentenced, the craziness of a fun night taking over as she mentioned her favourite muggle drink ever.

Dorcas didn't mind a little quietness, it made work a little dull, she wouldn't lie, but then that also meant that her friends were safe. That mattered the most to her. She reached forward and took the bag from Mary. "I'm a baddie. Maybe someone will catch me." She smirks shooting her friend a wink. She wasn't going to tell her friend about her run in with Mulciber.
"I think we should both enjoy the peacefulness, I don't feel like it's going to last for long." She admitted, taking a bite of her food. "If by interesting do you mean am I annoying Gideon Prewett." A slight pause. "I can assure you I am. It pleases me greatly."
She was always grateful for Dorcas' company, and she couldn't fight the smile that appeared on her lips whenever she was around, digging into the bags of food she had brought before settling down on the couch. "You'd think there would be some baddies to catch in this day and age, when did everyone get so sneaky?" Mary manages to say through a mouthful of chips, trying not to choke as she swallowed, before offering the bag to Dorcas with a shake of the bag.
At her question, she shook her head no and made a face. "Is it bad of me to wish someone got badly injured so there would be something to do? I've been counting the amount of potions in stock just to pass the time," she said rather mournfully; she'd never known a month so slow at work - mary had even caught up on her paperwork for once. "Please tell me you've had a more interesting time at work."

If Dorcas was smart, she would have walked the other way, but the thing was, she wasn't. Her eyes narrowed at him, shooting daggers from them, and without question, she went to sit down in the chair he pushed out. "Mulciber. Shocked you're still breathing. We could take care of that." She muses quietly.
Nick pushed out the chair next to him and raised his eyebrow in challenge. She hated backing down from a challenge, he looked forward to finding her limit. "Chair's free, you might as well. Come on and join me, Meadowes."

Dorcas allowed a serious expression to seep into her features, nodding her head at him. "I have my headshots don't worry. I was prepared for this moment. You let me know when and where and I'll be ready." The corners of her mouth twitch into a smirk. "You can't always hog her James, she has other friends. You smell half the time anyway." She snorts. "I try to see everyone. I see Marls every day since we work and live together. You'd think we were a married couple by now."
He smiled. "I'll see what I can do. First, though, I need you to audition. This is a really serious gig." He waited, as if for her to say the tagline. "Go on, then. You've heard me say it enough times."
"Far too long," he agreed. "Lils and I were thinking of having you all over some time. Well, I was thinking it; I haven't mentioned it to anyone else yet, but I'm sure she'd be thrilled. Do you see much of anyone else?"

Dorcas was going to have fun with this information. Though she did have to go.
"Yes, Marlene and I will be there for six. Have a good day Daddy Frankie." She can't help but throw one more jab before she makes her way out of the cafe.
END
Frank shook his head firmly and mimed zipping his lips. Nope, nope. Dorcas was way too convincing and already knew way too much about his life she didn't get this too. He glanced at her watch as well and spat out his drink.
"Shit, right, the office. I have to go too, shit. You're still coming for dinner? It starts at six."

Dorcas should control her anger, but dammit, this fucker made her want to strangle him the muggle way. It would be her great joy and end Mary's suffering. "Don't worry, I'll make sure the food is taken care of. I'm good like that." A tight smile throw at him. Her mind already racing on how she could use this to her advantage. "Second thought, why don't I join you."
"Nah, I think I'll stay. I've already ordered. It would be a shame to waste the kitchen's time don't you think?" He lounged back in his chair and grinned up at her. "I've not broken any laws, I've not caused any disturbances. The only one here causing a scene is you, Meadowes."

"That means I am going to be the best Auntie, ever!" The fact he was going to entertain the thought of doing something stupid, that brought out a mischievous smile. "We need to find me someone to kiss at midnight."
"I'm gonna be a dad, how is that not something huge and amazing?" His face hurt from smiling so much, but he couldn't quite help it. They were having a kid and now people could know. "What did you have in mind?"

Dorcas would never stop teasing him when it came to his dad and all the hair products. He was pretty boy for a reason. A sheepish smirk on her lips. "Sharing is caring, Potter! Don't hold back on me." A slight pause. "I could definitely use the extra gold."
The last thing she wanted to do was to talk about the war. It never did them any good. "I think we should be talking about things that are happier. All of us should get together soon. It's been too long."
"Succeeding, more like," he said with his first real grin of the day. Everything felt easier with friends around. Lighter. "Oi, eyes off my gold, Meadowes. I'm sure I can arrange a little something for you, too, if you're interested, every time you promote the product."
James frowned. "Really? What's wrong?" He nodded. "Do you want to talk about it? Must be really hard."

"I can promise you, I will not be chipper until I have finished my coffee." Dorcas was certain about that. There was something enduring about Molly Weasley, and she appreciated the older witch being there for them. It meant a lot to her.
She could not imagine Arthur Weasley getting caught up by the sweet pea Molly, but deep down knew, she probably never wanted to cross pissed off Molly. Redheads could be dangerous. "Well, that means I'm here to keep you company."
"What do you plan to do? If I didn't have to work, I would have joined you." Dorcas had about an hour until she had to clock in at work.
“Are you having one of those days now? Not that I want you to but it would be nice to have someone not chipper to share a cup with.” Not that she ever saw Dorcas as chipper but everyone had their times. Molly smirked at her response. “You mean fuck and bitchy? Those words are in my vocabulary, dear, even if the masses would like to think otherwise.” She got pure amusement from Dorcas’ reply.
She nodded her head as she took a sip of the warm coffee she so desperately needed. “Arthur is one of a kind, yes. Devoted to the end. I suppose I am too but he caught my wrath this morning. He’s the reason I’m even out. Said he’d manage the house this morning. His polite way of saying ‘get out!’” She laughed. Merlin, she laughed. Even Arthur made her laugh when they were nowhere near each other.
“I don’t have to ask the kids what they think. They give me their opinion all the time whether I ask for it or not,” she rolled her eyes. I love them, don’t get me wrong, but I want nothing to do with them today. I don’t think I have it in me not to lose it on them. But enough of me. What do you have to deal with today?”

Dorcas could feel his eyes on him, the way hers would find his, the occasional glancing over at her target. She was never one that could not hold a conversation, some of them she should have walked away from. A smirk toying on her lips at his words. The attention turned to the deaths, innocent lives being lost for a war that was nothing more than genocide. "At least we agree with that." The witch did not touch her drink any further, not wanting to cloud her judgement when the time came. "I think that is the best thing we can do." She watched her target get up and walk passed her, giving a moment. "Do excuse me. It was nice chatting." She slides off her stool and follows the man outside.
END
“Sometimes? Mm well then I suppose I should consider myself one of the lucky ones, yes?” He mused, amusement in his eyes as lifted his glass and finished off the last dregs of the scotch in front of him. She took the new drink, handing over the empty glass without ever bothering to take his eyes off the witch in front of him. “Yes, far too many unnecessary deaths.” He agreed, though he had his own views on it, he wasn’t about to share those. Hers wouldn’t be wasted, it would surely send a message to the order. Unfortunately that would have to wait, he certainly couldn’t do anything while they were here. “Busy as well, we’re doing all we can to help end this war, as we all are of course.”

The witch was tempted to pull out her wand and really make this asshole feel pain. The thing stopping her was a room full of witnesses. "And if I did?" She shot back at him, stepping closer to him. "You aren't welcomed here." Most knew the last name and probably felt the same, she had no issues voicing her opinion, especially around him. "Think you might want to leave."
Nick's smirk grew and sharpened. This was almost better than a run-in with little miss Mary herself: the overprotective one. "Get a security job did you, Meadowes? I'm allowed to be where I please."

where: the streets - the three broomsticks who: @franklongbottom-fm & @mkmarlene & @gideonscprewett when: nye
Dorcas was in her glory. She was out with all her friends and tonight she wanted to celebrate her way. Which meant, a little bit of craziness, on her end. With two shots in hand, her eyes land on her next victim, sauntering her way over.
She placed a glass down in front of them, before moving to sit across from them. "You have to do a shot with me." A devious smirk on her lips, holding her glass up.

where: the leaky cauldron who: @franklongbottom-fm when: new year's eve
Dorcas couldn't miss him. She spotted him the second she walked through the door and made her way over, sitting down in the empty chair beside him. "Hear me out, I was thinking that we need to do something big to bring in the new year. Are you in?" She had no real plan in action, but she was certain by the time midnight rolled around, there would be a plan.

Dorcas knew this conversation would be the highlight of her day, no matter which way her day went and she was fine with it. "But you did." She couldn't wait to get home after work and tell Marlene all about it. They would make great parents. The kid would be loved unconditionally.
"I think Ela and I are evenly matched." She teases, looking down at her watch. "Shit, I need to get to the office."
"Oh no, I am not entertaining this conversation." He said, even though responding was doing exactly that. No way did he need to blush himself silly while barely caffeinated. Nope, not today. He might be a dad soon, there were better things to think about.
"Never doubted that for a second. Ela's pretty wily though. I wouldn't underestimate her."

The last fucking person Dorcas was expecting to run into at the leaky cauldron, of all places, was Nick Mulciber. She wanted to strangle him with her own hands for what he did to one of her best friends. "I think you are lost." She sauntered right up to him, eyes narrowing, arms bridging across her chest. "I think what you missed, is you leaving."
where; leaky cauldron whom; open
"You go on one fucking birthday vacation," Nick grouched, almost close enough to good-natured to pass as friendly, "And it's like everyone forgets you exist. Come on, catch me up. What did I miss? Don't make me buy you a drink to pry news out of you."

"I really do think so. And that means I get to spoil them rotten." Which Dorcas planned to do. "I'm really happy for you guys." She leans back in her chair, ready to have this moment to spend the afternoon with her friend.
END
"Don't be smug about being right." She teased her friend, chuckling. Of course he had figured it out before she had. Her husband was a smart man and he knew her better than she knew herself. "You really think so?"

A sly smirk paints over her lips and she feels smug about what she just did, and the way it seemed to irk Frank. To here this was a win. "Why would you want to do that?" She teases him, taking a sip of her coffee. "We both know I am stubborn as hell and normally don't back down until I get what I want." She laughs.
Frank made a horrified face. "I'm going to beg someone to Obilivate these last few seconds from my brain." He told her. The only ones allowed to call him Daddy any more were his future children. Or maybe other people when in conversation with his children.
"I feel like it's bad for me to bet against my sister-in-law, but you're basically a bonus sister-in-law. And you're stubborn as hell."
