Original Post Rules (from @fallen-knight): "WIP Tag Game: Rules: In a new post, list the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs." Weeeeee first time doing a game like this! If I'm very happy to talk about my WIPs, even if it's been a while since I worked on them. Chatting about them is always a great motivator for actually working on things for me anyways :P MCYT: Ethos Lab AU: An au that I have posted a decent portion of on AO3, under the name "Rosethornrandomness" Hyrule Hermits: an art-based au where I'm re-imagining the hermitcraft members, and possibly friends/other MCYTers, into the races from the Legend of Zelda series. You can find some of my old designs either on my blog from a while ago, under the "#hyrule hermits" tag or check out my side blog @hyrulehermitcollection RP AU: Evil wither: what if the wholesome sweet character fell to her curse? MY ORIGINAL WORLD Tobias and the conqueror: a finished story that I'm working on expanding and editing. I think one of these I posted on fiction.net some time ago but I don't remember which one and most of them aren't published anywhere other than that. Three girls two potions and a cat: Writers block hit me three years ago but if you're curious please ask about it! The Mythos Mother: Story time with grandma! aka expanding the mythology of my oc world. The Fox and the Dragon: they go on a revenge quest I think that covers pretty much all of my bigger wips! As I said before, if you read this and think that any of these sound interesting, feel free to shoot me a DM or ask in the replies! As for people I could tag, Idk who all remembers that I exist or if they've still got wips but here goes: @redeemed-wren @mawofthemagnetar @hyodinary @memoryoflife @a-plethora-of-peters @sondronism @digdeepergravedigger09

every few weeks im thinking about golden apples being addicting and toxic for the most of the characters. they are really hard and crunchy and really tasty and sweet, like the best candy you've ever tasted but have zero of actual nutrition, and they make you feel like you are finally safe, golden hearts are warm and feel like something familiar, something that will help and save. the more you eat them, the less tastier they are, and the harder it is for you to stop, and many characters start to feel sick if the battle is so long that they have to spend more than a stack.
paranoid and anxious people are easy to get used to eating them all the time to lessen the dread and make hands stop shaking, but over time it weakens and exhausts them, and they may vomit in the middle of a fight, become completely exhausted, and even faint. everything they tried to suppress comes back in double and haunts them until withdrawal symptoms will finally stop.
some of the non-human-aligned pvpers are able to eat them pretty much safely tho, but they arent getting any positive things other than the actual effects either. generally, individual reactions still heavely depend of specific person. someone copes with it better, someone worse, someone can feel awful from the first moment and someone can even be immune to all side effects. but thats whats the same for everyone: god apples give everyone the same elated and full of energy state without any addiction and consequences. of course most of the people like them.

if you’re white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset you’d have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didn’t know anything about firefighters so you do... research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection you’re not writing about god damn space aliens you’re writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?

Hmmmm hm. Okay. Worldbuilding/story idea.
One million years after humanity disappears, octopi and ravens have independently developed sapience. And one day an octopus child and an elder raven meet at the edge of the ocean.
Where is your mother and father? asks the raven. I have no mother or father, says the octopus, blushing pale. All octopi are children. Once we’re grown, we will mate and we will die. It is the first and the last thing our mothers tell us.
But that’s horrible, says the raven. It’s not all bad, says the octopus. We play, we hunt, we make games for ourselves in the deep. Yes, but who remembers your songs? the raven says. Who passes down your stories?
What is a story? the octopus asks.
And the raven thinks about this question. And finally it says: A story is how you remember things in the past. It is how you know where you come from, and what happened before you were born. A story can be a warning, or it can be advice, or it can be a silly joke told to make you feel good. Someone remembers the story and tells it to the next generation, who remember the story and tells it to the generation after them.
And the octopus thinks about this answer. And finally it says: Can you tell me a story?
And the raven tells the octopus a story. And it’s a good story. And the next day the octopus returns and asks for another. The next day it brings its octopus friends, and the raven brings its raven friends, and many stories are shared on the edge of the ocean.
Months later, the octopus returns to the raven. I am grown, it says. I am returning to the sea to find a mate and lay my brood. I will not be coming back. I’m sorry.
I will miss your company, says the raven.
I have one thing to ask you, says the octopus. In time my children will come to the edge of the ocean. I would like you to tell them a story I have made. And when they have stories of their own, I would like your children to remember them and pass them down to my children’s children.
Of course, says the raven. What is your story about?
And the octopus thinks, and says: It is about an octopus child and an elder raven who meet at the edge of the ocean.
And this story has been passed down to this day.
