GUYS- this doll lights up. Under blacklight! Imm thrilled rn. I have all these blacklight posters in storage that i’m so eager to get out now. And I’ve been thinking of doing a little closet cave setup for myself and totally want it black light themed now 😭

I’m just like in eternal hallelujah mode right now. This doll feels like the perfect fit for me 🥹💗

Look what I grabbed at Ross today! Her names Virtuelle, and for $11.99 i figured I had nothing to lose😸

Its my first LOL surprise so i don’t know if i’m gonna like it, but i’ve really been itching to get my hands on one for a good price.

Wow okay so I love her?? Its been up to this point where I found the OMG big eyes look to be a bit off putting, but having one in person is 😍 She is fierce and floaty all in one

And I love the design of her two piece! And the little buckle of the belt 🥺 I’m really surprised (OMG) about how meticulous the little details all are. The patterning of the outfit is so crisply outlined and clear, and all the material choices are fun and the right amount of “weight” to them! Idk, its just so believable even as a toy-doll sized outfit, i feel like I could grab it and slap it right on me and it would still look the same.

Anyway! She’s gorgeous and I can’t wait to take her outta the box 🤩 And open all these mystery surprise pieces~ muahahahaaha

I posted before about painting Cleo’s bandages gold and I decided to experiment a little.

Previously, I’d just slapped the gold paint on top of the arm and called it a day.

Like so.

For the leg though, I decided to try out a speedpainting method people in the painting miniatures communities use called the Slapchop method.

It consists of painting the object your working on in a dark color, then dry brushing in a light color and finally adding the Color you want on top.

So! I first painted Cleo’s leg in metallic black:

After it dried, I dry brushed her leg with a pearlish color until it looked like this:

After waiting for it dry again, I finally added the gold and this is the result:

It really does make the creases and folds of the bandages pop so much!

Here’s a comparison between the arm I painted with just the gold paint:

And here’s the leg I did using the Slapchop method:

It makes it look as if her bandages are molded out of aged gold!

I think I should have maybe used a slightly lighter color as my base to make the shading slightly less harsh. Like, metallic brown instead of black. I still really liked how it came out, though.

I might go over this with a coat of slightly warmer gold but idk! What do you guys think?

It'll be a while before she gets her body because it needs a lot of modification, but she's really making me smile.

I made these using acrylic yarn that I’ve had sitting around my room for ages. I think I like how they’ve turned out, though the yarn is a little bit shinier than i guess I would like. But maybe i can spray some sorta matted finish after everything’s said and done 😪

But hey! can we just acknowledge the weft glow-up since i started this process?

New proj! I got Roralai and Fernessa at goodwill for 5 bucks! I was happy. I also got this Bashley a while back at a local outlet store. Cave clubs are pretty nice imo. And i really just wanna leave Bashley as is…

She’s absolutely amazing and her 80s style metallic dress is so glimmery and nice ~ It might be nice to try to make her plastic accessories out of more aethetic materials one day.. 🤔
