looks like i was mostly right! i do kinda love the misleading title of "ballad" of a homeschooled girl. it's one of my top 5 for sure. and the casual conversation style of get him back! is sooo perfect and feels very teen idol 2000s throwback. i didn't end up liking pretty isn't pretty as much as i thought i would tbh. and as we know making the bed and lacy are our perfect ballads!!

do we think all-american bitch will end up being a single?? lmk what u think! tbh since we had two post-release singles with SOUR, it wouldn't surprise me if she did a bit of a reverse with the rollout and made AAB the next upbeat single like how brutal was, then finished out with lacy as the slow single like traitor.

GUTS tracklist is here!!! i'm so psyched and lowkey hoping she'll drop the second single tmrw on friday...👀 BUT ANYWAYS lemme tell you the tracks i claim:

all-american bitch - i have a feeling it'll be like a fiercer and more grown-up brutal, very snarky and rough which is exciting, i'm thinking this will be a single with a video

get him back! - i think this'll be wry, ironic, witty, and a sarcastic, maybe kind of an overwhelming rush sound of frenzy just off the title. maybe also a single?

pretty isn't pretty - tbh i love her self-love anthems 🥺 i think this'll be commentary on the beauty industry and all the pressures put on young women similar to jealousy, jealousy

from olivia's recent vogue interview written by jia tolentino, we have some descriptions of a few of the songs. i think the two "wrenching, cinematic ballads" are (duh) ballad of a homeschooled girl and maybe making the bed or lacy. the song which describes "an ill-advised and irresistible night with an ex" is probably bad idea right?

when the album drops i'll stream it relentlessly then reblog this post and update with how accurate my predictions were 😄

i'm super biased but now that the album's been out for about 2 weeks i think it's actually lacy! lacy is so mysterious and melancholy to me ahhhh i love it

my contenders for the traitor of GUTS, aka the best song and perfectly moving and powerful ballad, are making the bed, logical, or love is embarrassing

with GUTS coming tmrw (AHHHHHHH) i thought i'd post my predictions for the album rollout i made back in july. looks like i was 2/3 right. i based my predictions off the SOUR rollout, noting when the tracklist was dropped, and about when in the whole timeline each single was dropped.

tbh i am a bit disappointed there were only two singles but it makes sense given the GUTS timeline is 2 months shorter than SOUR's.

i think this ⬇️ was meant to be a tease for get him back! being the third single released August 25 (258 - 25/8 - 8/25), but she and her team changed their minds and decided not to drop it so they could let bad idea right? have its moment.

it does make sense for them to have less hype surrounding GUTS given how hard they went to promote SOUR (the candy, the car wash, etc.) but i do wish we'd gotten a liiiitle more. her interviews have been really good though!

ofc i'm verrryyyy excited for the album tonight and just can't wait! 😄
