(I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with the last part, but still it is fascinating. Personally not really a fan of the first movie either, so I agree with a lot of the post)
Here are some more things that are reused, or can be speculated to be:
Tinker Bell:
-The background characters we see in the movie don't maych the visual style of the rest of the movie. Pause the movie at any time, and we see many of the characters have bigger eyes and are in a completely different style
-London enviorments left over from the original production, including the gardens where spring is brought to winter
-During the scene of preperations for Spring, we see one of the preprations is the original design for Rosetta's house
-In the "Magical Guide to Pixie Hollow" DVD short, this book prop is used. It is speculated to be from the original draft. I think the original name was also called "Magical Guide"
-The DVD guide shorts in general use book characters as backgrounders and fit them in to the new story
-Compare the deleted scene "Fairies Go to the Mainland" to the scene where Tinker Bell and friends brings spring, some shots are reused
-Various concepts and characters from the books are brought over from the guide, primarily In The Realm of Never Fairies:
Dust keepers
Sprinting thistles and living plants (Iris's journal)
Facts about fairy life in DVD shorts
Vidia's sarcasm (sweetie- sweetheart)
Arrival garments (probable for it to not be in the original script)
No two fairy wings are alike
Found objects on Never Land's shores (Lost things)
Hawks are dangerous
Scout talents
Can't fly with wings wet (very probable for it to really NOT be in original script, they didn't seem to need dust to fly)
Compare the redesigned Pixie Dust Tree to the Home Tree design. Some shots have some details not removed, such as the blue house in the bottom right corner (Rani's house)
-In the opening of the movie, we see some fairies sleeping in flowers, making them glow. The original version had the sunflower meadow where light fairies tended to live likely named as "Morning Glow Meadow" If we use the original picture of it as reference to the sunflower meadow, it's basically the same
-During the tour of Pixie Hollow we see some water talents in a small pond area. This is suspected to be the original water talent area
-Fairy Mary was in the original draft, with a slightly different role in the story as a teacher
-Look at the room where the ministers worry about the seasons, and compare it to the early trailers and deleeted scenes with the interior of the Pixie Dust tree
-Ballet music box (in concept arts, it was pink and was a prop in the original movie)
-The Pixie Dust well (where they get their ration)
-Perhaps the concepts of musical talents, who preform a concert?
-In Vidia's house, we see what was originally Tinker Bell's mirror
-Compare the teaser trailer from 2007 to the opening shot of the film, it contains a version of To The Fairies We Draw Near as well as several (6 to be exact) dandelions as mentioned earlier. Also compared the garden in the trailer, to the one used in the final film.
-The wand transitions (ending and DVD menu) seem to use the original character model for Tinker Bell
-The original Pixie Preview shorts use the older character models, the shorts are also loosely connected to the "changing talents" segment. Disney Channel's bumpers also used the original models for the characters
-Visit a Disney park, and the characters are often using the original designs from the movie- not the final ones in the film. Some packaging even has the old title design for "Tinker Bell"
-Vidia lives in a sour plum tree like the books
-When she gives the box to Wendy, she wipes away the condensation of the window and this is similar to an early scene of Tinker Bell that we see in the trailer of her looking in the window
Lost Treasure
-We see during the preperations of the Autumn revelry the mention of light crystals for the fireworks and Fawn is training small purple butterflies. Light Crystals are briefly mentioned in that minigame. (Discovering Pixie Hollow) In the 2008 teaser, when everyone says Tinker Bell's name- there's a shot of Rosetta in the original version with small purple butterflies behind her. Purple butterfiles also help Tinker Bell
-Viola's design seems to be closer in style to the original version with the features they decided to give her
-The design of the tapestry has the same artistic influence of the original Pixie Hollow design
-Exterior of Fairy Tale Theatre has the same branches of the fairy school
-The Pixie Dust mill is introduced in this film for the first time, and was a central location in the books
-The balloon carrier seems to take influence from Gail Carson Levine's carrier
-Recolored and reused models
-Based of Tink North of Never Land
-There's also the possiblity of reused assets (props etc) anywhere in the film, especially when she's traveling and it was so close in development to the original Tinker Bell
-The fairy guide short reuses the story of Vidia's feather theft to theft of blue dust.
Great Fairy Rescue
-Reused models and scenes from London, also possible in Fairy Camp
-Possible inside joke with the "water fairy has blue skin" thing, as there's a blue fairy by Mark Cote
-Lizzy wears a flower crown
-Mention of arrival garments in DVD short and the "arrival garment can be made of anything" being a very light piece of canon from this short (it's practically untrue)
Secret of the Wings
-The fairy language used on one of the snowflakes is speculated to be reused from a written language in the original script
-The opening shot seems to reference a few other illustrations, including the cover of In The Realm
Legend of the Neverbeast
-We see a map that seems to reference an older Pixie Hollow map, based on the design of the tree and comparing it to the one in "The Art of Judith Holmes Clarke"
-Fawn's house seems to be modeled after her original house design, a pinecone house- but closer to the ground and covered in more foilage. Making it different from the original
-In a cut scene, we see the houses of the characters that were made for the original film including the infamous "water slide" lotus- just the door though
-Reused models from previous films
Decided to rewatch Tinker Bell (2008) to see what short cuts they took when dismantling Ring of Belief (ROB). So here are some of them. Tumblr won’t let me add more than 10 images so this isn’t even all of them.
So first off the little dandelion seed things are reused from ROB.
The barrage boat where Hook captures Tink and Silvermist in with Peter and the lost boys, makes an appearance.
Oh also George and Mary are in the film too for some reason in the background for like 3 seconds. They are like the only background people in the film, like WHY- waste of models imo but I think they were from the ROB draft so what can you do.
Hooks ship is also just chilling there.
I’m thinking this tinker bell model they used for one scene is also from ROB because her wings are very tiny, and we know newborn fairies were a thing (they still come from a child’s laugh but they’re like baby’s/younger, kind of like how everyone could tell Prilla was the youngest fairy in the Disney fairies books when she arrived because of her wing size and features) because of the flash game and young fairy concept art.
Yes I’m sure the concept art is fairies look at their ears and their dresses are made out of flowers.
I’m not sorry but Terence is just Peter Pan’s Ring of Belief Model with a tik tok filter slapped on it and a side identity theft.
They had a remaining budget of like 3$ and since Lasseter cut Peter from the film he was just extra so my guess is they reused him to make Terence, which is why Terence’s face is different from the books. Now don’t go hitting me with the “but all of tinks friends look different and they were in the books too”. Well duh, that was intentional, they were created in marketing, they were taken and made specifically for the film, Gail had no involvement with them. They were just added in later with corresponding designs to promote the films later on. That’s also why we never got tinks book friends in the movies because they were created for the books, they weren’t meant to be “movie marketable”.
Another case of identity theft. Like come on. They dismantled Victoria and turned her into Wendy. Wendy shouldn’t even been in this film because of the last line from Peter Pan where Wendy’s dad, George, says he’s been to never land before. That isn’t possible here because Peter isn’t even in Never Land yet, Tink was just born and Wendy exists. Would make more sense if they used Victoria instead and made her like Wendy’s grandmother.
Over all the Tinker Bell films we got feel like their own bad timeline. They threw almost everything out from the books in a way and called it a day. ROB was at least consistent with the books lore and timeline. We had the purple pixie dust tree, we had the ring of belief, we had mother dove references, we even could have had the book fairies at one point. Disappointed with the Tinker Bell films rn smh. This movie is a 4/10 at best and I’m mad at it rn because it’s just stolen scraps glued together with an Elmer’s glue stick.

Also, I should add- there are plenty of promo interviews from the director of Secret of the Wings suggesting that she didn't want SOTW to be a literal "season winter" nor for the film to be too Christmas like. So it's possible that there was some creative differences between the writers, which might allow some possibility that the concept from this film came while they were working on Secret of The Wings.
"Peggy: Okay, that’s a good one. I definitely knew as I sort of looked at photography of winter – when we started I looked at photography of winter – and I noticed there were so many awesome looking whites and blues… One of the things we wanted to focus on in the movie is that this can’t feel like a Christmas place, it’s not a season winter. In this particular movie it’s a place. It’s a place they live, it’s there all the time. So, we needed to sort of create this magical winter and the images I was drawn to were all the whites and the blues. So, we decided to research all the different shades of blue and find the names out of that. So Periwinkle became Periwinkle and Milori, Lord Milori. Milori is a shade of blue." (x)

URL/user change: fairyringofbelief>disneyfairiesarchive
Hey everyone! I decided to change the blog to be a general Disney Fairies archival blog for both the fandom and obscure media of Fairies. With that, it made sense to change the url
I haven't posted on this blog as much as I wanted to, but I hope to most more often!
By the way, I have a theme for the blog on desktop for both this blog and for @firadessa
This is my theme I use for this blog to make navigation easier:
and this is what the Firadessa blog uses on desktop

Iridessa's Quest
Iridessas Quest ✨ (Big Lore Info Dump below)
So here’s what we got told about Iridessa’s Quest ✨:
As we know, neverland is loosing magic and queen clarion sent everyone off on quests (for the 2D script at least, the quests were later removed when the film transitioned to 3D).
Iridessas Quest is really fun. Her quest is to find the flame of courage. She has two firefly friends named Blinker and Gloria. They were basically like Iridessa parental figures.
(Marks Cote's Art, all concept art of the fireflies).
From what I remember iridessa goes into this dark cave to find the flame of courage but she gets lost and the cave begins to darken because never land is losing magic. She eventually gets lost in complete darkness. Iridessa is terrified and it’s not until she figures out how to find the light inside her and gains great courage that she can escape.
Similar to this color script we have here by Fred Cline.
If I remember correctly her quest was one of the first ones to be approved.
Candessa was a really early name given to Iridessa. Mark wasn’t familiar with it so it was probably given from marketing. It seemed like some things had to go through marketing before making it to the film.
(Mark Cote's art - iridessa)
(Background by Bill Perkins)
Mark also mentioned how Iridessas design was what got them approved for the Tinker Bell project.
Specifically this beautiful watercolor drawing by Mark Cote of Iridessa. Marketing thought she was marketable and so they thought the rest of the franchise would be as well.
It's a shame this design specifically was later scrapped by John Lasseter and Bradley Rayomnds Team.
Hopefully, we can get clear scans for you guys so we can share all this amazing art in its beautiful quality. I love Mark Cote's art, his consistency with these drawings and the watercolor is GORGEOUS. Anyway, taking a break from riddles and stuff for the holidays but don’t worry we’ll be back.
Remember believing is just the beginning ✨

Mark Cote Info Reveal- Silvermist's Quest
(Long Post Warning)
Me and a few friends are doing our own searches for information on the elusive Tinker Bell draft. We were able to secure an interview with Mark Cote, who was on the film for both a 2d and 3d version. Unfortunately, we were not able to save many recordings in good quality and mine has no audio. I also failed to transcribe our meeting, but hopefully this will not be our only meeting.
Before the original movie was put into 3D, it had several character quests all linked to the narrative to save Neverland. I thought it would be like Disneytoon's failed Enchanted Tales series, but unlike Enchanted Tales or Cinderella 2 the segments wouldn't be so self contained. It was like the movie Fantasia, but connected through a larger plot. There would also be a ticking time bomb in the form of the worlds of the mainland and Neverland combining due to the theft of pixie dust by Tinker Bell and friends before they earned it messing up the natural order. He told us that all 5 character quests would have to be approved by management, so he experienced delays in production. Several quests were greenlit but they had a hard time when they got to Silvermist and Iridessa.
We asked in a riddle, what brings water life? It took a while to get an answer, but @princessquinnella was reminded of water fairies in the books. The thing is though, Silvermist was conceived pretty differently from Rani. Despite being a water fairy, she was a repressive and pragmatic character. If you had a Disney Fairies DVD that came with the toys, you might remember the line "Still waters run deep" in reference to Silvermist. The pond and lotus where she lived, is implied to be "Stillwater Springs" or Lilypad Pond from what we know. x Here is the description from the illusive "pitch book"
Firstly, Mark told us for this "epic story" Silvermist's quest would be next to last. None of the fairies can fly because of the magic has dissipated. The story starts in her home of Stillwater Springs/Lilypad Pond, she creates a magical cloud named Tempest to fly. Tempest is an opposite to SIlvermist, he's a joyful and free spirited cloud like a impish child. Like in the final cut, there are 4 seasonal areas? There would be 5 themed areas in Pixie Hollow where each fairy lived. Many inanimate things live here in this word inspired by Art Nouveau.
She needs to fly on Tempest to reach the "water of life", and she travels to Pixie Hollow in a harsh desert area. She has a small glass vile to collect the "water of life" and flies over the stretch of desert looking everywhere. There's a color script of this segment somewhere on AODF (dont know where to link), where it is blurry and you can see the desert.
Silvermist and Tempest even meet other clouds on their journey, but they are grumpy and stern adult clouds.
youtube
Here, on the color guide- we see things a bit different. There seems to be some sort of snowdrop-esque flower in place of Tempest- but also some clouds, so I'm not sure what it could be.
Silvermist has been in the sky for a while now in this desert, but cannot find the water of life. Suddenly! Tempest, the child cloud starts to die. Silvermist is scared, because her friend is dying and she hasn't found the water of life. She sits down defeated... and starts to cry.
He showed us a piece I am very familiar with:
It is then, when she is at her lowest- when she cries... Tempest is resurected, and she is able to save her friend and collect the Water of Life, the quest item she needs to save Pixie Hollow.
Lastly, I should say the desert like areas in Pixie Hollow remind me of the elusive art from the mysterious artbook "The Art of Judith Holmes Clarke" (excuse quality, its a short frame in an IG video)
Now it's time for the next quest to reveal information about, there should be 2 left with more info to share with you...
This one shall be fill in the blank:
"------ is the key that opens every door."
Fly with you later!

1 Year Blog (Return) Anniversary- and thank you
It's been a while, huh?
Fly with you! I'm five days too late, but I reopened this blog on Oct 13, 2023. I wanted to celebrate here! You can read the rest of my thanks below (light cw mental health discussion)
I was dealing with my own personal stressors at the time when I closed the blog. I had shut it down because I wanted to focus on school- to keep it lighthearted. When I made the blog private, I wanted to wait for what felt like the "right time" to come back. I wouldn't say I came back at "the right time" for myself, but I am very happy to come back!
I impulse opened the blog cause I found an amazing surprise- many weeks later I came to find around 2000 notes combined on some of the special things I found on Archive. for some reason I was always embarrassed of myself of doing, of trying to find DF stuff on Archive oddly enough. But it payed off! And now, I don't really feel that way anymore, seeing how preservation is important and how many memories I helped you secure again. One year to the date IA is having an unprecedented DDOS attack to which I hope is resolved very soon...
I started the blog at 17 years old, and now I'm 22. But it hardly feels like it has been that long for me, as many world and personal events had shook up my life so to speak. In a way, this blog and Pixieblr (we can workshop that) has a very special place in my heart.
Thanks to artofdisneyfairies, ranibell (formerly Ask the Never Fairies), Darleen Enchanted/Plumwillow Pixie, Disney Fairies 2005-2007, Katzoo12/Disneyfairiesparadise, nabbing-nibs, zigazone, pixiehollovv (Mary). (sorry if there's more I missed) I feel like your blogs paved the way to where the community is today- and I'm glad there even is a Disney Fairies community to reminisce and enjoy. It's genuinely such a well crafted series, and I'm glad it gets some sort of attention and even had a sort of nostalgia lookback a few years back. Small but mighty pixies!
Year in review:
I shared some prototype drawings of Disney Fairies I found on a Japanese promotional site. Additionally, I secured a lot of notes with some pictures I found on the site XD
I archived around 5 Disney Fairies promotional disks
I found a PC version of the Create a Fairy game on one of these disks, a pink one sold around 2007
I found some interesting pictures and footage of early Pixie Hollow in a video by one of the companies that collaborated (Silvertree Media)
I started a Youtube archival channel and an extra archival blog!
Disney found the hype (or was just getting desperate) and is releasing new books, one middle grade series next month and a YA SOTW novel about Clarion and Milori in Feb 2025.
Anyway guys, thanks so much for a great year!

little timeline of marketing for Tinker Bell
-> 2002. Disney is adapting Gail Carson Levine’s “Ella Enchanted”
-> 2003. four people from Disney Press take Levine to lunch and ask her to invent the Disney Fairies books
-> 2004. Ella Enchanted comes out
-> 2005. Levine’s Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Eggs comes out
-> 2008. Tinker Bell film comes out
just thinking about the levels of simultaneous marketing and media that were produced through this. By having the fresh familiarity with Levine through the Ella Enchanted movie, it marketed the Fairy Dust books, then (as mentioned before on this blog) the fairy books themselves were inspiration and marketing for the Tinker Bell film

@sparebutton ok cause you are so right about the ds game specifically... I plan to make a longer post on ideas and things that carried over from the early version that carried on to the other movies and media, it's mostly small things but if you know you know
I need to let you guys in on this specifically because it blew my mind and I didn't really realize until playing Tinker Bell DS which has a lot of of Lost Treasure locations
This is the fairy tale theatre right? Look at the branches
x This isn't the best picture but it's the exact same as the old design of the fairy school/conservatory which blows my mind
Quotes on the early development Pixie Hollow (2008-2013) from Jesse Schell, the main creator/developer
This is so funny- Fairies couldn't fly/flying wasn't as prominent at first (from the Art of Game Design)
"I remember when we created Pixie Hollow, a massively multiplayer game for girls based on Tinkerbell. We had a whole design worked out that we felt pretty good about. We said, “Before we get into any production, let’s talk to girls and see how they feel about it.” We didn’t tell the girls, “Here’s what we’re thinking.” We asked really simple questions, like, “If you were a fairy, what would you do?” We thought we knew the answer. We were wrong. The answer was “fly.” We hadn’t been thinking about flying because we’d been focused on the Tinkerbell movie, where flying isn’t prominently featured. We immediately changed our plan. We made it so you’re flying every second of the game. Early conversations can be really important."
"Disney decided that they were going to reinvent Tinkerbell, that she was not the only pixie in Neverland, and that there were going to be a whole society of them. As soon as I heard they were doing that, I was like "how are you not doing an MMO?" It took a couple of years of pitching, but gradually worked up. We cut a deal where we did third-party development on it." (x)
Jesse also pitched the game to Disney outside of the company, so it was worked on outside of Disney
Here is what the game looked like during beta:

Thank you so much for following this archival blog! I will be a slow poster, but here is some information I will occasionally post and the goal of this blog:
To be an archive of information on mostly cancelled Disney Fairies projects and shorts. May also include other mediums and animation projects, but mostly focused on animation projects. The other topics will be fandom archival, game archival, and book/merchandising/publishing projects. Also deleted scenes that did not make it to their respective projects, even if they are similar.
To archive and provide easy access to fandom discussions on cancelled Disney Fairies projects.
To be a place of discussion as well as archival.
An easy access to concept art and other behind the scenes of deleted and cancelled projects.
To host information related to BTS (behind the scenes) of Disney Fairies projects.
To archive other random pages, official or otherwise- relating to Disney Fairies.
to be a loose "database" of Disney Fairies cancelled/lost media.
To get the best as possible information regarding aspects of cancelled projects. As well as to provide a timeline.
