99 Luftballons was the best song in Sonic movie 3.

"Better than Live & Learn? It can't be better than Live & Learn" OH BUT IT CAN. [Thematically mostly.]

The very basic stories of Sonic 3 [and Shadow sort of in general] and 99 Luftballons are the same.

-Things children love/a child will love appears suddenly.

-The government freaks because they think it's a scary thing.

-The government freakout causes some form of world destruction [in the song's case it's real, in Sonic's case it's stopped.]

-If the government wasn't power hungry and acted with some fucking compassion, the whole situation wouldn't have happened in the first place.

-Of course there's the problem with Shadow being genuinely potentially dangerous, but like. That's a child. They did more harm reacting the way they did.

Now, admittedly, Sonic movie 3 used the English version which ends up conveying a slightly different message. It's more metaphorical, and I think the German lyrics fit Sonic movie 3 better, but the sound of the Goldfinger cover fits the vibe of Sonic movie 3 more.

Anyways, that's it. Live & Learn was cool as fuck and I loved hearing it in the movie.
