Okay so apparently I forgot I did have an art blog on here that I haven't touched in FOREVER. And after mentioning I had some OCs of mine I'm sharing on insta, I'll be doing that here on my art blog so this way those who may not be on insta can see what I've been up to all along. I also have some projects and special surprises going on so you'll also get some benefits should this work out.

Yeah. I get it though. I really wanted to connect with others and share my interests and OCs with everyone else in the fandom but that doesn't seem possible anymore. And this is why I focus on my own thing with living machines at this point as I just want to do something for myself and enjoy what I'm doing.

Also with the AI stuff, that's very true and possible. As someone who's in the art field and wanting to do work there, it's very discouraging to see AI dominate all fields, especially the arts as that field is always looked down on and seen as not a suitable career or people majoring in that field are setting themselves up for failure and they'll end up broke. Just those stereotypes alone are dehumanizing for all artists out there and AI is only making this nightmare so much worse. One thing is for sure though. AI will never, EVER replace human creations. It's simply impossible. AI is so incoherent and when remaking digital pieces and whatnot, things are always junky looking. Can't really think of any other words right now to describe it and I know it's poor wording but you know, you get the point.

I really want to share my creations and characters with other fellow cars/planes fandom lovers but that just seems impossible at this point and it's really sad. I don't want to leave this fandom and I don't want to abandon my original works as I've worked too hard on them. I'm going to continue my work and my characters, but I've given up seeking attention and whatnot. I'm finally doing this for myself. But I'd love to share things about my characters with fellow fans who also have their own characters and whatnot. That opportunity is still there so if anyone wants to, feel free to DM me and spiel all your character info. I'd love to see what you have.

By this answer I don’t hate on anyone and I don’t want to upset anyone! I’m not going to hate on anyone and I’d never do that. I’m just saying my opinion!

And if you gonna read it to the end, thank you so much for that. ❤️ this is also a part of my venting. I felt very scared to say it out loud because I’m scared that people are going to hate on me because of this. I hope you guys won’t and you’ll understand me. 💙

My feelings about this fandom changed a lot. Before, like from 2017 (even lower years) probably to 2021 the fandom was something different. People were kind, respectful, nearly every Cars or Planes blogs got attention and people interacted with them. They were simply enjoying the time being there and also people’s ideas and creations. They were simply talking about head cannons and also enjoying that. And I’ve been happily enjoying that too.

But after that 2021 year, I have a feeling it changed a lot. Lots of well known people left, or they stopped posting maybe because they’re busy in their lives or they just ran out of ideas or they’re not interested in this fandom anymore. And still lot of people quitting and leaving this fandom.

Amount of people on Instagram? Very small. Amount of people on TikTok? Also very small. Amount of people on Tumblr? A little bit more cause probably most of them don’t have Insta. I feel like this fandom is getting smaller and more closed and people don’t want to interact. (Maybe they’re shy? Not sure.)

Also these days there’s one big issue, attention. Lot of attention as likes, comments, shares (reblogs for Tumblr) get only those well known people in the fandom. But not those small accounts or blogs (including me). But why? Why small artists don’t get attention we should get for work we do? Where’s the problem? Maybe the algorithm of the app or the app doesn’t let us be seen on people’s dashboards and fyp? Or is that because we draw something people are not interested in? Or maybe they don’t like us? I’m not sure about that but it’s sad to see it.

I also want people from fandom to know that I’m here. I want them to know that I also like this franchise. I want them to known that I’m drawing and writing about Cars and Planes. I want them to know that I’m also part of this fandom and I want them to know that they can reach me or interact with me without any worries.

And I did find lot of great friends and moots I’m glad and happy for. You guys are amazing and thank you for being in contact with me and interacting with me. I really appreciate it! Also all people who like, share (regblog) or comment my posts, thank you for that!

There’s also another issue in this fandom. Some people who may not be in the fandom (I’m not sure about that) just draw cars or planes randomly and post it and everyone are interacting as hell and it goes viral. And that’s all. But those who are here for longer time (also including me) post as much as they can but they never get any attention and interactions. Why? Where’s the problem? I’m trying to be as active as possible (for example here on Tumblr) and I get some attention (and I appreciate it) but not as much as other artists. I find it very unfair.

And the last one issue is that these days people ship characters that shouldn’t be shipped. 🚫By this part I’m not hating on lgbt community🚫

Yeah, some ships I do understand like Filmore and Sarge or Finn McMissile and Leland Turbo and some other ships. (Dont worry I also can see some cute ships with Cars or Planes and maybe I’ll show them some day owo.) But there are some ships that shouldn’t be. Like Strip and Chick. I’m sorry but in all honesty I hate this ship. You can’t just ship a married race car with mean race car. Why don’t yall give Chick some lady car? Like Natalie? I don’t get why do people ship them.

But I’m not here to hate on anyone! I’m not going to hate on anyone! People can do anything they want and I understand that. But I just don’t get this case and it’s so disturbing for me.

So in overall I sometimes feel like if you’re not friends with well known people in this fandom who would help you get viral, you’re not gonna be famous or well known in this fandom.

Kinda felt like saying something with this as well as I'm noticing a lot of change myself.

I agree with you on everything wholeheartedly. It's why I just stopped caring about everyone else and why I do what I do now for myself. It's tiring to please everyone and yet it's still not enough. I draw for myself. I create for myself. I do this all for myself now and it's so relieving.

I do feel ever since this bot who harassed so many cars/planes fans last year, the fandom has just died and it's so sad that one person ruined it for so many. I stayed back as I had some personal things going on at the time and even then when it was taken care of, I still remained silent. And now there's just so much silence and so many people have left. I regret taking a hiatus from my tumblr blog because when I was active so many people were liking my things and whatnot and then after the fiasco, it didn't make it seem enjoyable.

One person on insta also mentioned so many problems that are still going on with the fandom such as copying ideas and tracing and stealing others' artworks and whatnot. It's so sad this is still a major concern and that some people who write their fics on AO3 have had to stop or even delete their ideas because they're scared their ideas are going to be taken.

With everything you said and what I've also mentioned, this is the reason why I'm kinda no longer in the fandom myself. I just focus on my own animated world with this all and do original things at this point with my own heli OCs as that's what I got into and have been for a while. Cars will always have a place in my heart, but given with everything that's happened and whatnot, I've just been focusing on my heli OCs and have decided to do my own thing with living machines. It brings me peace of mind and I love making things original as they're completely mine and not related to canon characters or events within the fandom.

Blade Ranger for the ask game

Fun Fact: I was in the midst of drafting this when the fire alarms across the entirety of my apartment complex went off, so I wrote virtually all of this drabble while standing in my parking lot for an hour. Sorry if there are mistakes. It was 33°F outside and my hands went numb. 😅

"What about these?"

"I would never stop laughing at you."

"I wasn't asking you, Maru."

"Well, who were you asking?"

Blade sighed, already feeling a migraine coming on, and it was not because of the three dozen different pairs of reading glasses he was in the midst of trying on. The resigned chief was seriously regretting bringing his crew along for his outing to Walcart.

What started as Blade searching for a decent pair of readers that fit his needs led to all but the smokejumpers - who were likely causing chaos in the holiday section - scrutinizing his fashion sense. But, then again, the poor firefighters had not been off base for anything except emergency calls for the past three weeks.

There was also the issue of Blade being unable to complete his seasonal paper work because a certain someone managed to knock his nice prescription readers off the counter in the main hanger amid decorating for the holidays, only to then run over them by accident.

"Alright, what about these?" Blade tried again, testing out a different pair of spectacles.

"Uh, I think those are from the women's section, chief," Cabbie chimed in with audible amusement in his voice.

Blade made a scandalized noise, cringed, and quickly tried on something different.

"These?" the chief attempted once more, already getting a bit frustrated.

It was not as if Blade was super vain or anything, especially about something as mundane as reading glasses. However, the longer the helicopter sat in the Walcart pharmacy section with his crew, the more he found himself wishing Michelle were there to just tell him what to buy so he could be done.

"Now I'm afraid those are giving senile old man," Maru nodded with pursed lips into the mirror Blade was in front of.

"Maru..." the red helicopter groaned with a roll of his eyes, pulling off the tortoiseshell frames in defeat.

"What?! I'm helping this time!" the tug defended with his tines up, though his Cheshire grin gave away his true intentions.

"Maru! Why is Windlifter the only one who gets compliments from you?" Dipper scolded at the tug before turning her attention back to her battalion chief. "B-T-Dubs, I think you look very chic, Blade. Don't listen to him."

"Well, that's a definite no..." Blade muttered, continuing to sift through the aircraft-sized lenses on the rack. Maru scoffed next to the helicopter and reversed toward the larger green Skycrane sitting silently behind them.

"For your information Dipper, Windy was wearing aviators that one time, so of course he got a good compliment from me. He's also an English professor, so glasses are already part of his vibe. Right, Wind?"

"Thank you, Maru," the Skycrane extended with a slow blink of his windshield, eyeing the chief as Blade tried on yet another pair of glasses - this time, simple rectangular frames outfitted in dark blue, almost black plastic.

"Alright. This is the last pair they have my size," Blade announced, glaring at Maru through the mirror as he spoke. "At this point, I don't need any more commentary from any of you because I legitimately need readers to finish my work today. These are comfortable and I can read again, so I am buying them. End of discussion."

"Actually, Blade - I may not be a fashionable plane by anyone’s standards, but those look halfway decent," Cabbie remarked a beat later.

“I agree! Very distinguished, Chief!” Dipper chimed in as chipper as usual.

“I actually don’t have a witty remark for these,” Maru admitted, smiling toothily at his old friend. “Good choice, B.”

Behind the three other vehicles, Windlifter gave his own firm nod of approval.

“Fantastic,” Blade sighed with relief, about ready to praise the heavens they could be done. “Only took 2 hours longer than the originally intended 10 minutes, but I digress. At least I’ll be able to see again.”

A second later, a loud crash echoed on the other end of the store, followed by an agitated and exasperated sounding female voice over the intercom.

“Spill on Aisle 3. Spill on Aisle 3. Will the guardian of 5 young utility vehicles please come reclaim your children. Now.”

The five vehicles in the pharmacy stared up at the metal ceiling where the intercom was located for a beat. It was Cabbie who broke the silence, without peeling his gaze from the roof above.

“Just a suggestion, Chief, but you might want to rethink that whole “being able to see again” thing...”

I saw this post and hearing everyone mention Blade as the dad, I can see it. I remember a while back, someone even ranked the PPAA Team family member ratings and Blade was given the dad. Which makes sense. And you can just see that he is the head of them. Not just because he's the fire chief and whatnot, but also it gives that feel of being a family. That Piston Peak is their beloved home. And the way Blade takes his position, you just know he's herding the rest of his crew. Which is what a dad does with his children. I admire him for that.

Still wish we could've gotten a loop or two out of him but I just love how he's like the sheep dog or shepherd that's herding the sheep (in this case his crew).

Propwash Junction Corn Festival,

The fact that, Maru and the jumpers probably built those ramps themselves.

The fact that, Blade and Windlifter were smiling at each other at the end there.

The fact that, Cabbie gets to participate beyond just dropping the jumpers.

The fact that, Blade made one (1) water drop and then immediately kicks himself into a hover to helicopter parent his entire team.

The Air Attack team isn't a found family; they're established family. In this essay, I will talk about how Patch got the short end of the stick and had to stay back home and look after the base while everyone else got to have fun at Propwash Junction😭😭😭

Also, Literally every fire department from Piston Peak (Air Attack + Pulaski) left the Park for their much needed vacation while still in the middle of fire season. The entire Park burned down and they really went "well, nothing else to catch fire here" and promptly peaces out💀💀

Blade and Pulaski be like, "Finally getting that vacation Cad denied huh?" "Yeah."

Also, Mayday, there's this thing called "show don't tell", so how come we never see you two "old friend" interacts hm??

Helicopters with folding rotors, folding them back when irritated, feeling fear, alarm, or just being pissed off (like a horse flattening its ears.) This has the advantage of protecting both rotor and tail in the event of a fight on the ground, but also makes taking off harder in a situation where flight may become necessary. Folding suggests confidence, as it indicates you don't believe you will need a means of escape and are choosing 'fight' over 'flight'.
