while i have an unmatched level of faith in the andor team and trust them with any plot development no matter how "out there", i really do hope s2 doesn't have any sort of defect/rebel/“redemption” turn for syril. one of the great joys watching andor live was seeing ppl empathize with and babygirlify this guy instantly, then get hit with week after week of "He Is The Biggest Loser Fascist You'll Ever Meet" . am still riding that high . like they were editing him to folklore taylor swift . just bc he was somewhat meek and had blue eyes . i need him to become a bigger fascist in s2 if anything

The problem isn't that 'the Jedi in the prequels were a corrupt and broken institution in need of reform, and brought about their own downfall with their ignorance and hubris' is a bad storyline. It's actually a very compelling storyline in and of itself. The problem is that it was 'never' the story Lucas was telling, or wanted to tell. And that's where we get real fuckin irritated at the revisionist history going on nowadays from the fandom who've been gaslit by decades of Filoni media.

I love the original star wars trilogy so much that the only thing I love more than it is rogue one
Thanks to all the authors from ao3 who decided that all young people should hang out together... I decided so too.

crazy to remember "tell him...i love him more than anything he could ever do wrong" was in the same episode as "oppression is the mask of fear", which was in the same episode as “the empire is a disease that thrives in darkness, it is never more alive than when we sleep." three showstopping monologues in the same episode. none being THE monologue you'd associate with the show, with THEE monologue being a toss-up between two other show-stoppers two episodes prior. we should let the andor writers punt that baby yoda prop into the moon

i’m still not over the fact that, upon meeting vader and faced with imminent death, sabé just went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and introduced herself as the ghost of padmé amidala, there to “haunt him to his grave”
like this girl has more balls than every single star wars character combined

the thing about luke is he wanted to be good ☝️ he wanted to be gentle and kind ☝️those weren’t innate qualities he had no matter what. when luke acted on his first instinct he was quick-tempered and stubborn. he was whiny and immature and impulsive and had a lot of anger in him. he grew up in the galaxy’s darkest hour under two blazing suns & witnessed untold violence. nothing about his life was easy or coddling or guaranteed to make him kind. but he wanted to be good and kind and gentle ☝️so when it came down to it and he needed to make impossible choices he chose love & goodness & forgiveness. ok. it wasn’t easy he wanted to die and he nearly fell to the dark side so so many times but he chose good ☝️like i can’t read another post/meta/fic that just takes positivity & gentleness as his basic traits nothing else to it. we saw him struggle to chose those for three movies!!

padme’s second-ever scene is a royal court meeting where she sits on a throne and says things like “we must continue to rely on negotiation” and “i will not condone a course of action that will lead us to war.” this is the introduction we’re given for naboo: a peaceful planet, a peaceful queen. but in the film’s moment of triumph, padme sneaks back in to the court and arms herself with two guns hidden in her throne’s compartments. the same throne she preached diplomacy on. it’s not subtle! she’s been a soldier from the start; there was never peace.

So, uh.... how about that Kendrick vs. Drake Rap Beef 2024?!?!?!??!!?
In all seriousness, I had a mentally ugly April and so I want to thank the early May nuke that was Meet The Grahams blowing up my Twitter feed for getting me back on track. Sometimes you gotta pop out and hyperfixate on something really fucking different to get your brain back on track, which it did. The final draft of the next chapter is ready and waiting, and now I just need to get rid of all the goddamn rust and dust clogging up my arting gears.
I've done and posted multiple iterations of these designs through the years and they're buried in the archives but at some point I have to commit. That point is right now. I have to commit because these are going to be my visual guides for the next act of the story. Man, I hope I can pull this off. I want Din's look to be red for Aq Vetina and made up of scraps while he continues on his quest to rebuild himself. And I want Luke to have SOME color of some fucking kind and also I got tired of capes and thought the contrast to Din would be fun.
Grogu has some tweaks too but I need to stop dawdling and start thumbnailing for the chapter that is waitingwaitingwaiting for launch day so his little "design sheet" will come later. And once the chapter goes live, I'll spend the rest of the summer getting the pop-up shop up and running for pre-orders. Hopefully. Definitely. For sure.

sorry can’t believe i need to say this but anakin strangling padme is an evil act and that is the point of it. his lowest point is betraying all his wife fought for and then attacking her. thats when he fully descends. you don’t get to handwave it with “well he thought she was cheating on him” (DUBIOUSLY canon) or “it was a high stress situation, he felt bad later”. like you don’t get to soften the edges of something like that, star war is ABOUT loving people horrors and all . if you can’t deal with the weight of a third act climax go watch young jedi adventures!!
