Based on this bit in Journal 3 where Ford comes out of the portal and immediately chooses a mortal enemy in the form of a plastic tchotchke:

Something I think Alex Hirsch is quite good at is thinking up things that will maximally piss his characters off. Ford was originally written to maximally piss off Stan, and Burpin' Stanford Pines was written to maximally piss off Ford. The circle of life. Sure, Stan could have called it a "Burpin' Mister Mystery", but that wouldn't have made Ford quite so mad, would it?

Okay just finished a rewatch and I’m officially back on the Gravity Falls train. I get a veterans discount bc I was watching the show before “Stan has a secret twin” theories were even a thing

Know what I appreciate? I appreciate how Ford is basically on loan from a TV-14 series and will casually Cave Johnson it up all over the place with his bad lab safety anecdotes, but then he’ll turn on a dime and just 

and like. that is so embarrassingly wholesome and earnest. way to be the unironic 1960s action hero mentor you probably thought would be really cool to have as a kid, you giant nerd

Just… messing around with some new brushes, and new inking tools.  Not that you can really tell in the final product, but it’s good to just screw around with them and see what they can do.  Anyway, have Ford cleaning his glasses. 

(Honestly, nevermind light bulbs that make your skin softer – what Ford needs to do is invent glasses that never smudge or get dirty.  The entire world would hail him as a hero.)

been looking through my art folder and stumbled over this unfinished drawing i started a few months ago.

it was supposed be of Stan and Ford finding a giant (dragon?) skeleton but i didn't like how the whole thing was turning out and didn't continue it.

still decided to post it though, maybe someone likes it anyway lol

i didn't even draw Stan yet, it's only Ford there taking notes, so just pretend that Stan is behind the camera taking the picture lmao
