i just found a brand new, yes brand new, back to the roots aqua farm tank at the thrift store! I only paid $15.99 while this item is originally sold for around $100.00. thrift stores are amazing.

Just taking some time to appreciate the ridiculous plant collection, mostly succulents. It’s truly ridiculous, but it’s been nearly 3 months since buying any new plants, though I have adopted a few from a good friend. (Including that absolutely stunning sunburst aeonium and the Lenore dean echeveria that I hope keeps liking me? *anxious sweating*)
They’re doing well for the most part. I’ve lost some this year, but it’s okay, and I can say I am satisfied with the collection at this point. Though I would really like half of my agaves to make a proper comeback already. (Also I need more darker hued plants in the future, oooooh)
Grow lights make things SO much easier, and the LED lights work really well!

Finally put this shelf on the wall yesterday 😍 I got four of them second-hand for a very reasonable price months ago. My African Milk Tree and ZZ plant have suffered a bit because of underwatering but I’m sure they’ll survive. I love how this shelf looks right now but I might add another one above it at some point so bigger plants won’t fit on this shelf then. But for now I’ll enjoy this setup 🌵 Also, just found out African Milk Trees are actually succulents, not cacti!

I proudly present you the family portrait of my plants 🌿 Well, most of them anyway. I have over 30 plants actually and that’s not including the dozens of succulents props I have. You’d think I have enough plants already but honestly I just keep wanting more!

By Rob Herwig & Margot Schubert
About repotting (part 1.)
Tumblr media
Caption: “When should a plant be repotted? Left: too early, the insufficiently rooted root ball easily falls apart. Middle: this is how the root ball should look like before repotting, it won’t fall apart anymore Right: repotted too late, rooted far too strongly, the plant has almost no soil left.”

Another Mango baby! And I’ve already got a fourth seed on top of my boiler going for another try. I just can’t throw out any Mango seeds anymore.. I’m thinking about giving most of them away if I get them all through winter :]

And this is what happens when you’re a landscape architect/certified horticulturalist and hear that Lowe’s has a 75% off all plants sale going on. $150 on $600+ worth of plants, mostly natives too!

27th october 2019.
I got this Madagascar Jewel (Euphorbia leuconeura) as a baby plant from my grandmothers plant. Not typically a plant I would like, but I’m fascinated by that it is a fast grower and produces a lot of offsprings, so I’m really excited about watching it grow.
