hmmm... on a surface level, they're both characters that judge the world by their own code. sonic is more of the peppy and upbeat type, while shadow is grouchy, but calculated. that's about as well as I can explain these guys x_x

my first thought about Pete and Nate is that they're so Shadow/Sonic coded

I don't know enough about Sonic to really understand what that means.
