my answer to your question about the dress is that though you might think that the patterns don’t appear because they developed as she aged (which IS true—Rumi’s patterns got much more dramatic as she grew older), it doesn’t completely explain it.

this is because in the flashback scene with Celine and Rumi sitting in front of the grave, Rumi pushes up her sleeve and reveals that she does have patterns.

seeing that the idol awards from when Rumi was young was around the same time, it wouldn’t make sense for the patterns to not show.

so the most likely conclusion here would be that yes, her patterns were covered up.

the only problem here is that if Rumi could cover up her patterns here, why couldn’t she when she was older?

this may be because as she grew and her patterns did as well, they may have grown harder to cover up, especially in private with Mira and Zoey, when they might notice that she has makeup on her arms.

or, the patterns may have become more visible not only in size, but also their appearance?

this is all speculation, but maybe her patterns started to glow more or some other change in appearance that made them more prominent other than size.

Can we appreciate the attention to detail?

They really gave the thought and effort in designing the logo for the Idol Awards in it’s 2008-ish era and transform it in how it would be redesigned today. I mean, in the past logo, they really included the title and star element as a whole, with its characteristic golden and black palette from the early 2000’s. And for the actual logo they really simplified it to its minimalistic form, such as we are living with so many minimalistic redesigns right now.

Here you can appreciate them better. I just wanted to give a shout-out to the whole team of the movie, especially for including so many well-thought details even if they are shown for like .3 seconds.

EDIT: hold up, I just realized something. Celine dressed baby Rumí with a sleeveless dress…. Did Celine applied makeup over Rumi’s patterns for the red carpet OR did the patterns appeared when Rumí was a little bit older?????????
