Fan fiction reviews
Imagine you have a coworker who likes to bake. Every week, they bring in a batch of delicious, homemade cookies and leave them in the break room. Next to the plate of cookies is a sign, “If you like my cookies, could you please just leave me a note and tell me what you like about them? The more feedback you leave about what you like, the more incentive I have to bake.” A hundred coworkers walk by and take a cookie. One person leaves a note. “Great cookies! Bake some more soon!”
The next week, once again there are cookies in the break room with the same sign. Once again a hundred people take a cookie and only one person leaves a note. “Nice! More soon!”
Week Three- Once again, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note.
Week Four- One hundred people take a cookie. No note.
Week Five- There are no cookies. Someone leaves a note. “Where are the cookies? I loved them. Please, please bake some cookies.”
Week Six- There are no cookies. Ten people leave notes. “I miss your cookies. They were my favorites. I loved the chocolate chips. My friend really liked the way you had almonds in the cranberry ones.”
Week Seven- Motivated by the wonderful notes, the baking coworker stays up late to bake the best batch of cookies they have ever made. That week, a hundred people take a cookie. No one leaves a note.
The co-worker gives up baking for their colleagues.

Please, if you like the fan fiction that you are reading, let your authors know. Stories are abandoned for a myriad of reasons, but it is very, very hard to stay motivated when you receive no positive feedback. If there is a story that you like, whether it is a completed one or a work in progress, please leave an up-lifting comment or review. By doing so, you’re providing that writer with motivation to spend their time and energy creating more stories for you.
And that way, you both win!

“You made it!” Jackson’s arms opened waiting for a hug but to his disappoint when he realize what I wore he dropped his arms. He was wearing Thor’s costume with pride of being part of the Avengers, but frowned. “Didn’t you get the memo? Why are you dressed as the cat lady?” He questions looking at my outfit as I fix my black headband with cat ears.
“It’s catwoman.” I corrected crossing my arms feeling a little bit offended. “What's wrong with it?” I asked taking off my head and as it seemed to have tied a knot with my hair. “This is Marvel, not DC.” He pointed out.
“You didn't tell me!” I pouted. “I said we are dressing as Avengers. It hinted that you could've been the Black Widow!” Jackson says to his defense.
I rolled my eyes and nodded walking up to the rest of the guys. “Alright, alright. It’s my fault.”
As I sat down with the rest of the guys, I noticed Jaebum wasn’t with them. Before I could even mention that Jaebum was missing, Jinyoung had looked at me and smiled. “Don’t worry, he’s over there watching the city lights and night sky.”
He points over to one corner of the rooftop and hands me two cans of Mountain Dew. “Hand this to him. He needs a drink and has somewhat been distracted.”
Accepting the two drinks, I walked my way towards Jaebum. “Well, I haven't seen you in a while, how have you been?”
Jaebum turns to look at me and grabs his crutch. “I've been doing great.” He answers tapping his crutch to the floor while concentrating on it. He seemed to have even been distracted by it. “I mean, I’ve been doing great... in recovery.”
“Did something happened? I thought you were okay?” I asked stepping up to sit beside him on the wooden seat. Jaebum shook his head and laughs without answering.
“I brought you a drink.” I said handing him his can. He takes it somewhat in a harshly manner and pops it open without thanking me, like the usual, before gulping down half of it in one sip.
“Is it that refreshing?” I asked looking at him. He avoids my eyes and looks at the stars with a nod. There was a silence between us, and I began to feel nervous. Unlike other times, he would do his best to get me out of the uncomfortable atmosphere we always had between us.
Playing with my thumbs nervously, I bit my lips with uneasiness. “Jaebum, I have something I’ve been wanting to ask.”
What is it?” He asks taking another sip. I gulped and took in a deep breath, before opening my can of drink. I sipped it carefully, “A couple months ago when I saw that… in the alleyway…”
Jaebum straightened himself and glanced at me realizing where I was getting at. Still, he doesn't say anything to stop me.
“Who is she?” I asked. Jaebum sighs and sets his drink between us before leaning back. “I told you let's not talk about it.”
“I know, but it bothers me to-" “Just don’t think about it. It doesn't concern you or anyone.” He interrupts me and finishes his soda before crumpling it and throwing it to the ground.
“I can’t.” I said boldly. “I can't stop thinking about it. Is that so wrong?” I asked but Jaebum was silent. He had no answer.
“Jeong Sa Yeon… that is her name, right?” “My high school crush, yes. What's the point?” He replies grabbing my drink and sipping it. I nearly interrupted and told him it was mine, but I figured he already knew and doesn't care.
“Then, what happened to the both of your guys’ relationship?” “You don't need to know about that. It was just a simple one-sided love story.”
I sighed figuring he won't open up about her. “Then, what were you guys arguing about?” He scoffs and shakes his head before looking at me, “Arguing? We weren't arguing, we were negotiating.”
“Are you sure everything is fine?” I asked knowing that everything wasn't. His attitude and everything else is so… different and unlike him.
“Everything seems fine and should be fine, from now on after this.” Jaebum responds abruptly without waiting for a second to answer my question. I straightened and leaned closer, “After this?” “What do you want to know.” Jaebum leans in and pulls me close by my collar suddenly feeling irritated by me. He protrudes his jaw and scoffs, letting me go.
The smell of soda reeked from his mouth, yet he still managed to reek of soft coconut. “I’m… just curious,” I gulped.
“You know what, this topic has been on my mind for a while. Since you've put me to it, I might as well just say it.” Jaebum scoffs again and shrugs before reaching in his pocket. Out he pulls the listening device with earphones plugged in. “This.” He holds the thing and shakes it around carelessly.  “This brought me so much trouble, you know.” Jaebum looks at me and leans forward.
“How did you- I thought she had it.”
He scoffs again before handing me one side of the earphones and plugging in the other. “Shall we listen to it? I just wonder… what would come out of this thing.” His voice was sly as he plugs his piece in while watching me.
I inhaled deeply trusting him wondering why this thing was such an issue and took it, placing he piece of earbud in my left ear. Silence.
“I don’t hear anything-” I stopped and paused. That was my voice just being recorded and being spoken back to me. I looked at Jaebum and pressed the earbud making sure I have just hear myself repeat what I had just said inside the earphone. “Is this… me? Talking? My… voice?”
There it is again, those exact words that came out of my mouth also came back right into my ear. I gulped feeling the heaviness in my chest again, “Was that really… me?” I asked at the verge of tears freaking out. “How? How did you-? Why did you plant a device in me?! For what?! Have you been spying on me!”
I moved away from him and yet he was silent without a thought to answer to me. Sitting there, waiting, he starts laughing… in a dark manner.
Feeling deceived and offended of privacy, I threw the headphones out of my hand. How dare he just mocks me like it was fun deceiving me? “Is it funny? It’s not! How dare you!” I begin to shout at him for making me look vulnerable and weak in front of him.
Jaebum begins to speak after cutting off his laughter with a dead serious face. “Do you know how hard it was to get this back? For the sake of saving your reputation, do you know what I’ve gone through?”
My blood boiled. How dare he now talk about my reputation. This whole time no one, and I mean, no one has ever cared about my reputation but their lead stars.“Oh, really? My reputation? Mine? We are going to talk about me, now? Since when did any one of you guys cared about me?! When did anyone care about my suffering and pain and embarrassment?! Everything! Every! Single! Damn! Thing! Jaebum! It's all about the ‘stars of this industry’! Isn't it all about you! Saving your reputation! How dare you get that back and then blame me for everything that's gone wrong for you? I didn't ask for this!”
He starts arguing with me and throws his damn crutches across from the bench we sat.“Your nonsense talk about everything and nothing beyond that has really ruined all of us and this industry! You lead us to downfall with your ignorance!”
Tears swell up, and I swung my bag to the floor.“What ignorance?! I overheard every single conversation! Don't pity me and act like you're saving my reputation! You started this for your gain. You would do anything to get this thing back for the sake of you!”
“Yes! Of course! For the sake of it, I would do anything to get this back! If it wasn't for you who had started it all, I wouldn't have stepped this far!”
I paused taking in his words. “Heh, that's it huh? You admit it. For the sake of your gain, then. For the sake of your reputation. So everything is my fault.” I sniffed. “Every person here is all the same.”
“Yes! It is!” “What did I ever do to start this?!” I yelled back in tears. “What did I ever do to deserve this! I haven't done nothing but trained! Work my ass off, for the sake of becoming successful! Do my best to follow every rule and regulation! And what? You guys… plant this… device on me? Monitor me? Then blame me? What kind of contract did I signed in this agency?”
“You don’t get it, do you?- Just why am I trying to protect you? I’m supposed to be protecting myself! I'm the one at lost here because of that thing!” Jaebum starts shouting back at me again with anger in his eyes.  I looked to my behind where the plushie was. “What did this thing do?! What did I ever-” “I can hear everything you say! And whatever you say brings trouble to me!” He eventually stands up with his crutch by his side, “I hate you. Look at what you made me look like! I’m casted!”
“Why are you playing victim! I’m the victim here!” I shouted back getting up. “I never told you to get hurt for me! I never told you, or anyone, to plant that stupid mic on me!”
He starts threatening me and hops over. “Why are you even here! Because you like me too, Rainie?”
“And who made a move to start anew? You could’ve just left me hanging wondering what the hell you guys were talking about, and I might’ve just left my mouth shut! Fine! I do like you! Is that so wrong? Illegal?” Tears starts rolling down my cheeks and I bit my lip.
“It is! It’s pathetic. Hopeless… because you know what, Rainie? I hate girls like you. Girls who are so hopeless that they become crazy and become willing to do stupid things!” I sniffed again calming down, sighing. “Pathetic? Hopeless? What did I ever do that was so stupid?”
“You should never have asked! Never have walked by! Never had stopped and watched! You should never have involved yourself in this!” He leans in and starts pointing a finger at me, accusing me of doing so wrong for him. I shook my head looking into his eyes in full blown tears, “I was worried, but maybe being so caring of others made me forget that you guys don’t even need my help. So yes, I’m pathetic and hopeless. Because I cared so much, I did something stupid.” I scoffed and sniffed avoiding his eyes that were just so full of hatred. “You got your own protection, your own back up to hide these scandals. Why should I care, right? I mean, who's there when it comes to me?”
I swallowed the dry air and picked up my things. “Who’s there to protect me, right? I’m a stupid lowly trainee who should just mind their own survival skills out here in the wild. I should never have thought that someone like me would better the situation-- especially a star like you.”

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
“You’re late.” Jackson says with a slight pout with his arms crossed. I rolled my eyes chuckling, “I had to take care of something first.”
He then lets out a laugh and ruffles my head, “I’m just playing. Come on.”
We walked to the corner of the rooftop where everyone hung out waiting. It was a peaceful night with some light campfire music and roasted marshmallows. “Where’s Jaebum?” I asked looking around.
Jinyoung walks over and apologizes on his behalf, “Earlier Jaebum said he had someone to meet after getting his leg examined. He won’t be here to celebrate with us.”
“Wait, his leg examined?”
I watched as Jinyoung closes his eyes realizing he spitted out something he wasn’t supposed to say. He sighs and nods, “The other day we had filming on Running Man and he somewhat injured his ankle. He thought he was fine, but it seemed to worsened with today’s pre-recording on stage.”
“Is he okay? Have you heard from him?” I asked trying to compose myself as I sat down. Jinyoung shook his head, “We haven’t heard about his reported condition, but he only mentioned to be visiting a friend after his examination.” He pauses to look at my concerned face and smile, “Don’t worry. If he can still travel to his friend’s house, he’s surely fine.”
I nodded feeling reassured about his condition and joined in on the guys’ celebration. We sat gazing at the stars pointing out any constellations we saw to one another. Everyone gathered around the fire pit and strung the strings of our instruments. I brought out my violin and dust off any dust.
“Woah, Rainie.. I didn’t know you played the violin.” Youngjae comment astonished at me perfecting the tune of my strings. I smiled, “I play a lot of things, you just don’t know.”
“What else do you play?” Bambam asks jumping onto the small cushion. “Back in the states, I played a lot of violin and flute in school. At home, however, my dad would teach me how to play drums and my aunt would teach me the guitar… I wasn’t, of course, as good as them… but it was what I was taught.” My mind drifts back to the old memories back at home and the words flowed out my mouth like water. I was missing home and the thought of it made me missed my family more.
“I tried playing a cello too, but it was just too much. I remember having to walk home and carrying that thing with me. It was definitely not easy. especially under the hot and humid weather.” I smiled with just the thought of it and  sat there quiet for moment staring into the dark sky not minding my company. “My mom used to teach me how to dance. She was in a dance club and my dad was in a band. Both groups would join together for festivities to perform, and my dad would play the drums while my mom would dance.”
“My aunt would make me sing with her sometimes as she plays her guitar-” I look back at the guys who sat on their heels leaning deeply into the circle to hear my story. “What’s wrong?” I asked.
“You were saying.” Jinyoung says motioning me to go further into my story. I looked back at him blankly, “I- uhm… ahem, anyway. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano. Youngjae? Are you willing to tutor me?” I asked directing the attention to him. He thinks about it and nods, “Sure.”
“Ehhh, that’s not fair. Come on, tell us more Rainie. What would you have been if you weren’t training to become an artist?” Bambam asks propping his hand to support his head on the cushion.
I thought for a moment, “To be honest, I wouldn’t know. Maybe a prosecutor?”
Jackson spat out his water and wiped his mouth, “Pro-prostitute?” “Pro-se-CU-tor, Jackson. Prosecutor.” Mark emphasizes for him to understand the difference and laughed shaking his head.
“Or maybe a writer or director. I’m not so sure.” I said continuing. “What about you guys?” I asked drawing my hands close to the fire for warmth.
We sat there for a couple of hours talking about one another and our silly moments for a while before ending the night early. I walked my way back to the dorm alone with a heavy feeling of some sort. I just didn’t know what it was, but it was there. The heavy feeling of too much quiet… too much silence while withholding so much thoughts. I’m worried most of all.
Thursday, October 22, 2015
“What do you think you got for the math exam, Rainie?” Sieun asks skipping her way ahead of me. I shrugged, “89%? I’m sure I missed a couple.”
“89%? You’re too confident, I think I got 72%. The exam was hard.” She pouts upset at her self-confidence.
“Rainie?”
I look up noticing Dowoon standing in front of the building. I stopped my tracks and the rest of the girls quickly walk inside the building, but they weren’t long gone. They hid behind the glass door peeking out trying their best to eavesdrop.
“I can see you guys.” I said looking at them. They all pout and walk away realizing they weren’t sly enough.
Dowoon walks over with his two drumsticks in one of his hands as his left hand was in his pocket. “You never told me you played the drums.”
My heart skipped a beat and I stood there frozen for a while, “Who told you?” He looks at me blankly, “Bambam. Why?”
I bowed my head and looked at the ground, “My dad used to play it…” “I know.” He chuckles, “Why didn't you say anything?”
Looking back up at him, I studied his face. “I don’t know. I guess the topic never came up. Why? Did you want to know?” Dowoon takes a step back a little stunned with no words to describe himself. He finally stiffens up, “Uh, ye-yes. I did want to know, so why. Why didn’t you mention it? You've known I have played it.”
“I just didn’t think you’d be interested,” I replied still avoiding his eyes. Why was he being so sensitive about it all of a sudden? Dowoon scoffs and looks around, “Look at me.”
I shook my head, “No. I can't.” He sighs and scratches his forehead trying to hide his face in front of the public as people walk by before lowering his voice into quiet, “Look at me.” “Dowoon, I can’t. As part of respect-”
He cuts me off. “Why can’t you look at me?”
I heard him sigh again and then quickly places his hand on me, “Fine. Yes. I’m interested. I’m interested in you. Everything about you. When I get the chance, I want to spend more time with you. Okay? Now, look at me.” My head tilted up to look at him with wide eyes. I did not see this coming.
“Rainie Lin?” Ms. Kim walks out of the entertainment building and fixes her glasses. She directed her attention to Dowoon whose hands were still on my shoulders. He immediately removes them and bows to her. I followed Dowoon bowing down with a greet. Ms. Kim exhales with a slight irritation, “Rainie, follow me inside. Dowoon, you’re late for your schedule.”
I inhaled in fear and walk inside to the building as Dowoon stood there watching me leave. Following Ms. Kim into the girls’ training room… I noticed all of the trainees were present-- both boys and girls. I sat down quickly while Ms. Kim placed her clipboard down and picked up a yard stick. “Today we are going to be taking a Sex Ed class, but before we do so, I would like to make a an announcement and a very clear final warning as it seems I haven't been clear enough.” She glances at me and begins to walk around the room.
“As we all have been informed before, Lee Chaeyeon and Natty has eventually left us. I hope you all have said your goodbyes before they have left. Other than that, let’s quickly move on.”
“Our number one rule is to keep our distance with artists in the industry. We are not to become close with them nor befriend them within the public’s eye. I, for clarity, am also part of the public. Everyone must keep a formal barrier, understood?” Everyone nods as she slaps the stick in her hand looking around. “Why must we keep this barrier between us all. Rainie?” Her head turns towards me and all of the trainees followed her directed attention.
“To prevent any scandals and ruin an artist’s reputation.” I answered not being able to look directly at her nor the whole class. Ms. Kim takes her steps towards me and asks me another question, “And what will happen if that distance can not be kept?” I inhaled deeply biting my lips feeling too embarrassed to look up as a tear rolled down my cheek. “This would result in one being kicked out... most likely the person in the training system. If the issue were to ever continue, the artist must be dropped resulting at the faulty of the trainee.”
“Correct. Now, does everyone understand?” She begins to walk away from me and rolled out the television. “Yes,” Everyone answered.
“Good. Please take notes on this video’s lecture. We will come and form a group together to discuss afterwards.” She places the VHS into the VCR and presses play before dimming down the lights.
Hwanseol scoots over to me and nudges me, “What happened out there?” She asks quietly. I sniffed and wiped my nose without looking up, “Nothing happened.”
“Did Dowoon hurt you?” She asks glancing back at Ms. Kim who sat in a corner with her clipboard. “If he did, I’m going to beat-” “No, he didn’t do anything.” I cried.
Her voice lowered and she looked around before patting my back. “Wh-what’s wrong, Rainie? Why are you crying? Don’t cry.” I shook my head wiping my nose, “I hate it.” “Hate what?” Hwanseol hugs me and combs my hair.
“I hate it here.” I cried hugging her back. “How do you- how do you survive here?” Trainees are the faulty of every wrongdoing.
“I do my best, I really do. I'm scared of what's to come next.” My voice becomes muffled and my cries becomes raced. The emotions poured out of me, and I couldn't control my breathing. My chest was heaving with hiccups.
“Ah, what’s wrong. Don’t cry, seriously. People are looking.” Hwanseol looks at me and tries to comfort me through the whole training session.
“My eyes are all puffed up.” I pouted looking at myself in the girls’ bathroom mirror. “Of course, what did you think?” Hwanseol says shaking her head as she hands me a napkin. “Wipe your nose.”
“You can wait for me outside. I need to use the restroom.” I said guiltily. Hwanseol scratches her head. “Ah, hurry and come out. You got work tonight too.”
I nodded and walked inside the stall. When I walked out, I had noticed that Mark and Jackson was out in the lobby looking around for someone. Quickly hiding my face, I try to sneak out.
“Rainie? What are you doing?” Jackson asks walking over to me. I dropped my bag and didn't dare look at his face, “How did you know it was me?” I asked looking at the glossy floor.
Both Jackson and Mark squatted down trying to glance at my face. “Did something happen?” Mark asked.
I shook my head. “No, nothing at all. I was just embarrassed, seems like you've caught me.” I replied trying to hold a stable chuckle. “...but how did you I was hiding behind my bag?”
“Rainie, you do know you're the worst person ever trying to hide, right?” Mark reasons. “I am?” Jackson butts in and brushes his fingers against my plushie, “Of course! Everyone knows that you're the only one here carrying the Dream Knight plushie with you all the time.”
“Ah… that's right. Maybe I should also hide this plushie too, right?” I questioned trying to joke with them. “Of course,” Mark says.
“Ah,” Jackson looks around and begin to whisper. “Are you coming today?”  “Today? What for?” I asked looking at my shoes. Jackson giggles, “Halloween party! Come over dressed in a halloween costume!”
“Halloween party? Today's the 22nd.” I explained. Jackson pouts, “Of course we know that. Did you not see?”
“I was busy.” I replied in short. Jackson sighs, “Well, we are dressed up as the Avengers-” Right then his alarm clock rings and notices they've spent too much time in the lobby. “Oh shit, the time. Ah, Rainie. See you there at 8.” They both quickly rush off into the elevator waving goodbye as I walk outside without waving back.
“What took you so long?” Hwanseol asks nudging me. I showed her the number 2 on my hands and smiled. “That's why.” She laughs and shakes her head before headlocking me. “Come on, let me send you to work!”
“Wait, I'm actually not going.”
She loosens her headlock, “Why?” “I have another plan made today.” “What plans? Why have you been so busy, Rainie?” Hwanseol begins to tease me with her quirky smirk. “Don’t tell me there's a boy.”
I tried to chuckle, “No! Of course not… I just have something else I must do.”

“What do you think you’re doing? Where’s my device.” Jaebum demanded for an answer with no further questions from her.
“I’m not here to give it back. I’m here to expose.” She says boldly drawing her face closer to his before leaning back and resting. “But before I do, there’s a way to stop me.”
She’s teasing him enjoying the moment she has with him under her control. I 👀 as Jaebum stands there for a moment considering her thoughts. “Go ahead expose.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5
                                                                                        Sunday, October 4, 2015
Fr: King Wang
I’m guessing you saw the music video and live performance on SBS Inkigayo?
I chuckled looking at the sudden text this late and replied: I’m watching the performance riiiiiiiiiiiighhhht after I finish my studies.
Instantly there was a text back from him.
Fr: King Wang
Nevermind, don’t bother to watch it. Go to sleep. Quick. Tell me if I look good when you do watch it tho.
I rolled my eyes with a slight laughter at Jackson’s ego and placed my phone on the bedside. I had to finish studying for a big test and the information just doesn’t seem to be sticking clearly.
Fr: JB
Need help?
My brows arched with a slight happiness when I noticed Jaebum’s text. We have been talking less formally since that night, and our relationship seems to have inclined...
Fr: Rainie
Are you sure you can help? Maybe you’re just bothering.
Fr: JB
Eh, I’m not professionally certified to teach but I do know.
Fr: Rainie
Oh, really?
Fr: JB
Really. But fine, I’ll just go to sleep. I’m tired anyways and have schedule tomorrow.
Fr: Rainie
Fine.
Rolling my eyes with a slight chuckle, I plugged my headphones in to help me concentrate. Maybe some piano keys can help, you never know.
However, just within a minute my phone had ring and the caller was Jaebum.
“What is it?” I asked answering the call. He seemed astounded and taken aback for moment with my slightly bold tone. “Is that how you speak to me?”
I furrowed my brows. “Why? What’s wrong with it.”
He clears his throat, “Ahem, Han River in 15 minutes.”
“Who said I have to follow you-” I began to oppose his idea, but he quickly ended the call there.
《▪▪▪》
“Are you serious... study under the bridge. It’s raining out here.” I looked at Jaebum’s standing figure with a raised brow of disappointment. “I would’ve thought somewhere warm.”
He points at the top of my head and makes me sit down beside him. “Stop complaining and start studying. Now, what should we look at first?” My eyes were drawn to him and I carefully examine his smooth face and his two moles on his monolids. Why does it break my heart that he won’t talk about her even though we’ve settled to forget about the past? Everytime I’m with him… I can’t seem to be at ease. I know that I'm crossing the line to ask or even to be worried about their relationship, but… there's got to be more to the story.
I inhaled deeply pulling out my textbook, “History.” “Oh, you didn’t bring your plushie.” He mentions looking at my bag. Confused, I turned to look at him. “Hm? Why are you curious about it?”
He pauses for a moment realizing that he had said it aloud, “I wanted to know if you’re taking care of it.” I smiled and raised the plushie above my head after taking it out from under my jacket. “Of course. I wanted to keep it dry.”
We studied until the first ray of light shined upon the edge of the furthest that we could see before walking back to our own separate residents. Throughout the night however, we studied with quietness and subtle joy-- for me at the least. Jaebum, however, seemed to be occupied with something else.
《▪▪▪》
“Where did you go last night?” Hwanseol looks at me with half concern and suspicion. I blankly looked back and swung my backpack before me, “I went out to study.” She looked at me with a dead face that contorted with interrogation, “Where?”
“Under the.... Bridge.” I admitted quietly. “Wait, wasn’t it raining last night?” Yejin asks popping her head out of the kitchen. “Ye-yeah.”
Hwanseol shrugs, “Well, as long as you aren’t sick…  I guess.”
I grinned slightly and walked past her to quickly change.
《▪▪▪》
The girls walked a few steps ahead of me as we all walked out to our morning trainings at the entertainment. It was nearing 6 am at the moment when I noticed the same girl from a couple weeks ago at the corner of my eyes. She was walking with a strange intent as she boldly makes her way over to Jaebum, who was walking back from the store nearby and peacefully opening his strawberry drink. Quickly, she grabs his arm and yells out his name but before she could finish he instantly covers her mouth.
His drink spilled all over the cement with a splash. Shoving her into a dark spot hidden from the public's eye, he releases her. “What do you think you’re doing? Where’s my device.” Jaebum demanded as he grits his teeth with no further questions from her.
“I’m not here to give it back. I’m here to expose.” She says boldly drawing her face closer to his before leaning back and resting. “But before I do, there’s a way to stop me.”
She’s teasing him enjoying the moment she has with him under her control. I watched as Jaebum stands there for a moment considering her thoughts. “Go ahead expose. Tell the CEO, I don’t care.”
She shakes her head and laughs, “Hah, I’m not telling him. I don’t care, and I don’t want to. You see, if I told him… you might as well be kicked out of the group. I don’t want that; I want you in. I have been thinking, however… just how? How did you get this… precious device?” She takes the listening device out of her pocket and waves it around taunting him.
“That’s none of your business.” Jaebum reaches towards it but she clasps it in her hand tightly. She laughs again leaning in close with the tip of her nose touching his, “You know what I think. I think you’re CEO is in on it too. Ah… that must be right, no wonder you’ve got a hold of something so secretive and valuable. What would happen if I told her about all this?”
Her? His... mom? Who?
Jaebum’s face contorts in anger and his chest heaves in tightly before slamming his hand onto the brick wall. “What is it that you want.”
The girl scoffs, “Like I’ve mentioned before, I only want to start over-- begin something we’ve never had.”
Jaebum sighs and turns to think for a moment knowing that he’s tied up. He sees me standing a couple meters away and sticks his tongue out to protrude from the side of his cheek before looking away away quickly. His jaw then protrudes for moment with tension, but he hides it.
“Is it seriously so hard? You’ve started over with this girl just weeks after-” She complains referencing the listening device in her hands.“Shut up, will you?” Jaebum instantly shouts making her go quiet before calming his nerves.“Hand it over. I’ll do what you demand.” He says again calmly.
The girl replies boldly and refuses to hand it over, “No.”
Jaebum grits his teeth and protrudes his jaw while glaring at her in a deathly manner. “Jeong Sa Yeon.”
Still, she becomes intrigued by his voice and expression.“I will give it back once I can be sure this is not just because you’re protecting her.-” “I’m protecting no one but myself.”
Jaebum quickly ends it there and walks away as he eyes me from the corner of his eyes. From the looks of it he was triggered and determined to get it back. For the sake of what? What was just important of it?
“Jaebum!” I shouted his name running after him, but he kept his quiet and walked right into the company. Quickly following his steps inside, I noticed he was greeted by the trainee girls so I kept my quiet.
“Jaebum,” I quickly said walking up to him when the rest of the other girls left.
“Rainie? What is up with you?” Hwanseol walks over and looks to notice that I was talking to JB in a colloquial manner, before leaving quickly. “Uh, I’ll see you inside.”
I nodded and turned to talk to him, but he excuses himself rudely. “Wait, let’s talk.” I said grabbing for his arms, but he takes a step away. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m busy, however. Sorry.” He quickly excuses himself and enters the elevator without even glancing back at me.
I bit my lip feeling this heavy feeling of uneasiness and turn around to walk inside the girls’ training room.
“Hey, what is JB to you? Why did you call him like that?” Hwanseol asks as soon as I walked in. “Like what?”
“Jaebum? You don’t call him JB?” She begins interrogating me with quite a suspicion. With my arms crossed, I brought a hand to my chin. “I said Jaebum? Ah. Ah… I must’ve slipped my mouth. I meant JB.”
But, she wasn't buying it. “Rainie Lin. Is there something going on?” She asks with a smirk. “Of- of course not!”
Hwanseol composes herself and sighs, “Fine, but make sure to keep your distance.”
I nodded and we all sat down waiting for an announcement to be made by Ms. Kim.
“Today, we will have a new member to join our trainings. She’s actually been accepted for a while but has not fully been here to train with you girls. As you all know by now Park Ji Won and Song Minyoung has officially left the entertainment a couple weeks ago and the rest of the minor group has joined you guys gain... but now... we have a new family member in the mix.”
“Please welcome, Shin Ryu Jin. She will be sharing a room with Eunsuh for the meantime. I do hope you all come to respect and befriend her like you have done with everyone else.”
                                                                                     Tuesday, October 20, 2015
“Are you not coming with?” Sieun asks making sure her bun is just the nice and right fit for her head. I shook my head fixing my bed, “I made plans already. I can’t cut it out of my schedule.”
She turns to look at me with a slight pout, “I guess, I understand. I will let Dahyun and Chaeyoung know… but it will be a pity if you’re not there.” Sieun starts throwing a small tantrum in upset. I chuckled and apologize, “I’m sorry, Sieun… but I can’t cancel now.”
Sieun sighs and throws on her coat. “Fine, I at least tried. Make sure to at least lock the doors when you’re on your way out.” I nodded and gathered sweats to throw in my laundry bucket. As the front door closes, I quickly changed into casual clothing before walking out with my bag over my shoulder.
There was a shuffling in one of the girls’ room causing me to walk over in confusion. Wasn’t everyone… gone? “Ryujin?” She looks up bumping her head from under the desk and nearly curses at it. “Yes? Rainie, right? I thought you left with the other girls.” “So did I. What are you doing?” I asked after nodding.
She looks at me and sort of sighs sitting down, “I don’t know. I’m not so close with Twice nor the minor members… I don’t feel like I'm in the right place.”
Dropping my bag beside her as I walk in, I sat beside her. “It’s not your fault… no one, actually. The show and reality of it sort of made them lose hope in themselves, that’s all. With many people opting out and leaving the entertainment, some of us are just having a hard time. Tonight they're celebrating for victory and a new age, it doesn't have to revolve around being fond of one another-- much rather, new beginnings and goals.”
We both sat there on her bedside talking for a moment to coax her up.
“Hey, you know what… do you want to join me for a celebration tonight?” I asked inviting her to GOT7’s 3rd win for If You Do celebration at their dorm’s rooftop. Ryujin shook her head, “I’ll actually just stay here and clean my stuff. I have a lot to dust off.” She tries to chuckle and walks up to her night stand to pick up a necklace. It looked like an half of an angel’s wing.
“That necklace…” I pointed at it and she looks at me clutching it to her chest. “What it is?”
I cleared my throat and shook my head, “Nothing. I just thought-- that’s from Dream Knight, right?” I asked with a bright smile. She nods shyly until she notices my plushie dangling around my bag and starts laughing. “No way,”
I laughed along with her nodded, “Yes way. Jinyoun- I mean, Junior?” She giggles and nods again before pointing out the plushie dangling on my bag, “JB?”
Laughing with a slight embarrassment, I admitted, “Yes. I didn’t know you were an IGOT7.” “Neither did I.” She tilts her head judging me if I was fit to be part of the fandom. “I’m kidding.”
We both laughed for a while and bid goodbye for the night. “I should be back before curfew.” I last said closing the front door shut.

I watched as Jaebum stands there for a moment considering her thoughts. “Go ahead expose.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4
There was a sudden loud screech from the device that echoed loudly causing me to yelp in pain. JB and the girl suddenly directs their attention to me and his eyes suddenly widens when he notices me. He twitches almost running after me, but realizes that he’s dropped his device to which the girl grabs for. I make a run for it as he becomes distracted.
I ran for dear life as fast as I could with the plushie banging beside my duffel bag. Turning around the corner, I ran into something and fell flat onto the cement floor. I looked up and noticed Chaeryeong, Natty, and Somi standing there looking at me in concern. “Are you okay?” Somi asks helping me get up. “I’m fine. What are you guys doing here? Don’t you guys have a curfew?” “Don’t you?” Somi asks again looking at my unpleasant state.
I cleared my throat. “I uhm was walking back to the dorm after my shift.” “Why were you running?” Chaeryeong asks. “Well, speaking of curfew, I was afraid of missing the subway.” I said still panting.
“I think you missed it. The subway already left.” Natty informs. “Great.” I replied wiping off the dirt from my skirt. “What are you guys even doing?” I added.
“My sister’s sick, we just came to grab some medicine.” Chaeryeong looks at me with a look of plea hoping that I wouldn’t report a single soul to the company. “My lips are sealed as long as you also promise not to expose me.” I said fixing my hair. “By the way, how’s the new dorm you guys are living in? I heard you guys are going to debut within 3 years after them.” I asked referring to Jihyo and the others.
They look at me and shrug. “Eh, I mean, it is actually a lot more spacious with just the seven of us… but I do believe it’s about to be a lot more spacious.” Chaeryeong shrugs feeling a little gloomy with just the thought of it. “Why’s that?” I asked.
“My sister is planning to move to another agency. So are Jiwon and Minyoung.” She admits. “Gee, are you okay.., I mean, having to compete with your sister that is going to be from another agency.”
She nods, “It’s alright, I guess. I tried convincing her that she could just wait three years with me here and debut together, but I think she really wants finds another agency more to her interest. I guess JYP entertainment doesn’t really give her what she wants.”
I thought for a moment considering her words before speaking up again, “The reality show was really an eye opener. Minyoung was so excited to debut as part of 6MIX and it just didn’t happen, I don’t blame her for losing hope here. Jiwon did really well too… I’ll miss her. I guess all of them just didn’t find their fulfillment here,” I concluded.
We all took some time to catch up with one another for a while before departing separate ways back to our own dorms. The night was young, but it was long and tiresome; it was filled with much doubt, problems, and concerns for most of us.
Thursday, September 17th, 2015
“I’ll admit, I love this release. It’s catchy,” I said unplugging the earbuds.
Jackson looks at me with disappoint, “You mean, this is your first time hearing this song?” I chuckle putting the earbuds and my phone away in my duffel bag, “Sorry, but I’ve been busy.”
Jackson looks at me and nods with understanding, “You’re right. -but what about the teaser for our next album, Mad?” I pause for a moment having no idea what he was talking about and smile before answering, “I’ll have to check it out.”
“A slice of cake for the lady.” Jinyoung says handing me a freshly cut birthday cake that we had just celebrated for Youngjae. “Thank you so much.” I gladly accepted the appetizing cake and took a bite out of it.
Jackson hops over to me with his phone in his hand and proudly looks at it. “Rainie, I made sure to post a teaser on my instagram to remind you. So remember to check it out.” I made sure to nod that I understood it with a smile to assure him. “Got it.”
I placed the slice of cake down onto the table and sat nervously with sweaty palms. I rubbed my hands together and took a deep breath. I’m just so nervous to meet JB. I’ve gotten so close with the rest of the member since then, but JB? I barely get a chance to formally greet him at all. Plus, with that incident that happened a few weeks ago… I just don’t think it’ll go well if we ever got close. That incident will always be a barrier between us. It was something that I should have never witnessed.
“Aaaaand, here’s the gift.” JB says panting as he finally arrives with his wrapped up present. “Don’t tell me there’s a dog there.” Jackson jokes.
“No, it’s a cat.” JB says bluntly placing his present onto the table before clasping his hands and sitting beside Youngjae. “Alright, let’s start opening presents.”
I quickly grabbed my bag and placed it on my lap patiently waiting to give Youngjae my present. I was nervous, yes. Just what if he doesn’t like it and judge?
“Well, let’s start with the lady.” Jinyoung says sitting down beside me directing his hands towards my direction. Youngjae sat across from me with his birthday hat and smiled. I handed him my bag and grinned with nervousness, “I hope it’s something that you like.”
“I sure will.” He gladly accepts the bag and is careful to open it. “A voice recorder?” He questions holding it up.
I nodded, “I thought you might want to record your voice and music in there. I know it’s an odd gift, but I had hope it would come to use someday.” Youngjae looks at me with enthusiasm, “Of course I love it! I’ve been practically begging Jaebum to get me one.”
A smile ran across my face with delight, but JB was sternly looking at me with a somewhat an intimidating look like he was studying my actions. Ignoring his piercing stares, I draw my attention back to Youngjae. “Well, I’m glad I didn’t disappoint.”
We all went around the circle to open our presents until, lastly, it was JB’s turn. Youngjae quickly opened it with excitement of what JB had gotten for him. To some extent of surprise, JB had gotten him a voice recorder as well but to Youngjae he was definitely glad to have not just one now but two. “Seriously?! Jaebum, you got it for me?” He exclaims in excitement and jumps up. JB nods with his arms crossed and tries to withhold his smile.
It was seriously the first time I ever saw JB smile up close… and it’s beautiful. It was also the first time I ever saw him smile around me, usually he’s just so serious about his work.
The boys goof around for a moment of his celebration and eventually calms down realizing that I’m still present.
“Ahem, I’m uhm… going to have to leave. Don’t mind me,” I said after a while of silence. “Wait, let us walk you down.” Everyone suggested.
I shook my head knowing that it may not do us all any good. “No, no. I-I’m fine, really.” Jackson walks over and wraps his arms around me. “It’s actually really late, Rainie. I think the best we could do is walk you down to the lobby.”
I tried to pry myself away with uneasiness. “I’m not trying to offend, but really, I don’t want trouble. I think it’s safer for me to just walk alone.” I explained. Jackson looks at me for a moment and nods, “We understand. I just wish it wasn’t this hard to get around, but take care.”
Everyone else walks inside and I turn to exit and enter the elevator. It was practically almost 12 in the morning.
A hand comes to stop the closing elevator doors and in walks JB. I kept my quiet and scooted to a corner to leave some space. The doors closed, and we descended down to the lobby. It was quiet as ever it can be for two awkward people. The only thing that could be heard between us was my attempts on breathing quietly.
The door dings and open, but at the same time JB finally spoke. “Rainie.” I froze and stood there astound. My heart skipped a beat for the excite of my name running off his mouth, but for the fear of what he may utter.
I swallowed the dryness feeling in my throat and didn’t dare look into his eyes. My eyes could only glance down at his feet. “Yes JB?” I responded nervously slowly making my way out of the elevator.
I heard him let out a chuckle making me turn around. There’s that bright laughter again. “Call me Jaebum.” “Huh?” I looked around not knowing what to do or what he meant. He looks at me waiting.
I grabbed my bag that was sliding down my arm and placed it over my shoulder for support. He quickly switches his direction from me to my bag and back to me with some intensity. I paused and answered him. “Uh… yes, Jaebum?”
He takes a step towards me leading him out of the elevator. The elevator doors instantly closed after him and he appeared smiling. Jaebum’s smile pierced through the reflection of light from outside and spoke, “Shall we take a walk?”
Immediately, I said no. My actions, however, nodded yes. Jaebum chuckles, “Well don’t actions speak louder than words.”
We happened to walk out to the Han River together and luckily there were no one around. I mean, it’s practically midnight.
“Should we skip rocks?” He suddenly asks stopping as he looks at the full moon with his hands in his pocket. “Skip rocks?” I repeated.
He nods and picks up some rocks before beginning to throw. I sighed feeling the heavy heart of him just bursting into flames and literally interrogating me about him in the alleyway. It’s killing me deep inside that he’s not bringing up the question and keeping me here with him when his full intention is to talk about it.
Grabbing a heavy rock I threw it into the river and watch as it sink down with a plop before grabbing another and sitting on the cement floor. I felt tortured standing here next to him. This heavy feeling… I want it to stop and end.
“You know why I brought you here?” He finally asks breaking the silence between us. “N-no.” I answered stuttering with fear.
Jaebum sighs failing to skip the last rock in his hands. “You remind me so much of her,” He says sitting down staring deeply into my eyes. Tearing my eyes off of him, I look back into the water with my hands rubbing against one another in my lap. The moonlight shines upon the water and it glistens.
Composing myself to fight back the tears of fear, I sniffed and wiped my nose. I didn’t know what or how to reply back. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.” I finally said.
“Of course you didn’t.” He says still gazing at me. I curled up with the cold breeze and sniffed again. “What is it that you want to talk about.”
Jaebum simply relaxes himself and wipes his sweating hands on his sweats. “Rainie, I don’t want to talk about anything… or what happened… or what you saw. I’m not here to explain, if that’s what you want. I want to start anew.” He took out his hand for a shake and I honestly hesitated. My hand clenched into a fist with fear. Thinking about his words for a quiet moment, I opened my fist and shook his warm accepting hands.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
                                                      Thursday, August 13th, 2015
“Sorry, we’re closing.” I said as I mopped the floors without looking up to look at who it was. When the bell at the door didn’t ring, I looked up. “We’re closing down at the moment- oh, hi.”
“Hi, uh yeah… I wanted to order some snacks for the night but I guess you guys are closing.” Mark says looking around adt the clean tables and stacked up chairs. I tried to composed myself and gulped nodding slowly, “Yeah. It’s late.” I said looking outside while fixing my hair nervously. He looks outside too and agrees, “It is. Why are you still working?” “I-uh am still on my shift.” I answered bluntly.
The room goes quiet and he still stays on  his ground. “Why are you here? It’s far from where your dorm is.” I finally said breaking the silence. Mark looks at me stunned by my knowledge.
“I mean, the company doesn’t really seek a dorm that is far from the building after all.” I said clearing my throat. He lets out a laugh of relief. “Right, for a moment I thought- never mind.” I smiled and laughed a little, “Thought what? That I was a stalker?” Mark looks at me and nods, “Yeah, I thought that for a moment. I mean, you are listening to the latest title track on repeat and you pretty much just knew where our dorm was.”
I turned off the music nervously and shook my head, “I would never. Promise on that.” I held out my pinky in the air and gave him an assured look. “Wait, what does listening to the latest title track have anything to do with being a stalker?” I questioned feeling unwelcome as a fan. He thinks for a moment and apologizes.
I continue cleaning and glanced back at him. “Do you want to order?” I asked laughing at the awkward situation. He looks at me and realizes that he’s stayed for too long before shaking his head, “No, uhm, I was actually looking for you.”
I shot him a glance with my brows raised before chuckling, “Me? Why?”. He looks at me and tilt his head, “Was it not you?” I look around nervously, “What about me?”
Mark thinks for a moment and looks at me sternly, “Well, I remember your face. It was like a month ago?” Mark looks at me carefully examining my facial expression to see if I would recall. To be honest, though, the moment scarred me that I would remember it every night before going to bed and cringe at myself for embarrassing my own life. “Uh, yes.” I answered slowly.
“So you’re Rainie Lin.” Mark says with confidence meanwhile nodding his head. Taken a step back, I stood there stunned. “You know my name?” I asked. He lets out a laugh and walks closer to the cash register, “Of course. Everyone’s been talking about you.”
Tearing my eyes off of him, I look at the cash register blankly. “Everyone?” He nods, “Uh hum. The girl who fell sick and nearly was ordered to go back home.” My face turns bright red with smoke screeching out of my ears. Yep, that’s how I will be remembered from now on. “I-I guess?”
“Rainie, are you done over there?” My late night co-worker walks on over and Mark quickly rushes out the door. “Uh, yes. I’m done.” I turn off the light and walked away to change into my sweats. We quickly locked the doors and walk out into the dark, walking separate ways. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” I waved goodbye to him and he waves back before placing his hands in his pocket.
“Rainie,” Mark suddenly appears in front of me out of nowhere with his face mask on almost making me trip and make run for it. “Ah, sheesh! You scared me to death!” I gasped and find my balance.
He apologizes with a smile and follows me. I look back with uncertainty of why he was following and stopped. “Aren’t you going back to the dorm with the guys? It’s almost 12.” He inhales and sucks in the cold air, “The guys are back at home visiting.”
Turning to look at his desperate state to talk with someone, I laughed. “And you can’t go so you’re alone and you’re here.” I concluded with smile of praise. “Wow,” I added before kicking the small pebbles.
He chuckles a bit, “It’s that sad, huh?”
I sighed, “It’s okay. I can’t visit home either. Every other trainee at the dorm is gone too.”
We both walked down to the subway and got in. Everyone stared at Mark with his bright ash blonde hair with suspicion as they talk about him and me together. Silence sat between us and he sort of walked away to keep a distance. Ignoring the attention, I placed my earbuds in and finished listening to the album. We got off the subway and walked out.
“You seem to enjoy the album.” He finally says after a while. Taking about my earbuds I turned around, “You’re still here?” He nods and looks over to my screen.
“Oh, yeah. The album is great. Especially the title track, it really helps keep me motivated and accept myself. It speaks to me actually; it’s like a response I’ve been waiting to hear.” I explained closing the page after shoving my headphones back inside my bag. He looks at me unsure, “What do you mean ‘accepting yourself’ and ‘speaking to you’. Has training been hard?”
I sighed, “Well, the fact that I fell sick to the point of almost returning home, yes.” I admitted. “I... couldn’t really speak about it to anyone, even my parents. It wasn’t something that they would be proud of-- with me all suffering here.”
Mark nods and tries to lighten the mood after sighing, “So what’s your favorite?”
“The title track.” I repeated laughing at little. “Right,” he chuckles embarrassingly at his mistake. “What did you think about my self-written rap?” He asks again. I thought for a moment and answered honestly, “It’s nice, actually. I didn’t really think it’d be that great.” Mark chuckles and raises his brow, “Oh really? It had a lot of revision. It’s not that easy.” “ Well, isn't revision part of perfection?” I replied jokingly, but I quickly quiet down realizing what those words meant. My body and weight needs revision to be perfect.
I stopped my steps and turned to him, “Well, this is me. I don’t think we should walk together any further. Thanks for keeping me company.” I said solemnly.
Mark looks at me and realizes to keep his distance. “Right, I’ll see you around the company.” He waves and walks away after I bowed. “Oh, Rainie. Don’t be distant. It’d be great to be friends.”
“What?” My mouth blurted in the most startled way ever. He laughs and repeated himself, “I said see you around.”
                                                                               Friday, August 14th, 2015
“Aaand you’re here again.” I said with a slight sound of blunt. Jackson and Bambam walks in behind Mark meanwhile Mark sort of laughs shyly. “I also kind of brought them with me.”
My eyes widened and I gulped with a skip of heartbeat, “Kind of?” In my head, I was nervously shaking like a maniac. Oh god, no. Just no. He rubs the back of his head nervously, “I don’t want to freak you out, but they insisted on coming.” He says slowly.
“Hi, I’m Jackson. We met a month ago.” Jackson says confidently walking over with his hand out for shake. I composed myself for the formal greeting nearly choking. Taking a deep breath I nodded, “I-I know. I mean, I know you’re name… and the fact that we met.” My hands nervously shakes his and Bambam nervously stands near the door before waving. “Hi.”
“Hi,” I greeted back nervously.
“Ahem, who else is out there?” I asked looking outside. “No one. The rest of the members should probably be at the dorm by now except Jaebum, he still have to some stuff to do at home, but-” Mark quickly interrupts Jackson from speaking too much with a cough to clear his throat and Jackson changes the subject. “Sorry, just wanted to take a walk and ended up here.”
“Oh, well, uh if you wanted to order, we’re actually closing.” “No no, we know. We just wanted to formally greet you after that incident. It just didn’t feel right to ignore the fact that we met and didn’t formally get to know one another.” He explains.
“Oh. Yeah, about that… I didn’t meant to eavesdrop I was actually on my way to leave after a check up and happened to walk by.” “Yeah, we’ve all been talking about it.” Jackson says nonchalantly. Quickly realizing what he probably meant by the comment, I apologized. “Oh, uhm, I’m sorry if I ever bothered.”
“No no no, we don’t mind at all. In fact, we thought it was pretty funny to have Park Jinyoung not to notice. Besides, we’ve met most trainees, but we never really bumped into you at the company. We just thought it would be great to know you.” Jackson says again clarifying his mistake. “Well, you know the trainee schedule. It’s pretty tight and busy.” I replied.
“Uhm, well, we’ll be taking a leave.” Mark says after a while. I nodded with a wave of goodbye and finished my cleaning before closing the coffee shop. I’ve only walked for a couple minutes when I’ve heard some argument near the alleyway behind the liquor store where I was passing by.
“I don’t think I feel the same way.” “What do you mean you don’t feel the same way? You said you like me-” “Gosh, that was ages ago! You hated me, then. Why did you follow me here?”
Isn’t that JB? Didn’t Jackson say he was still back at home?
“I- I wanted to say sorry. I want to start over.” “Jeong Sa Yeon!” JB grabs her shoulders and pushes her to the wall. “Stop acting stupid. We never started anything nor did we have anything. Go home.”
“I don’t want to. I want to stay here… with you.” She insists looking deeply into his eyes. I watched as JB swallows hardly and inhales before letting her go. “I’m not scared of anything! Let’s start over.” She continues.
JB brings a hand to the back of his head and sighs, “I seriously don’t want any sort of relationship with you. Go home.” He picks up his duffel bags and starts walking away when she yanks his sweater. Something fell out and landed on the cement ground. My eyes widened and I straightened up realizing what it was. The CEO gave him a listening device, not an ipod.

So yes, I was hallucinating and fell flat on the bathroom floor. Dirty much? I couldn’t help it. The next morning, I had woken up with loud banging of pots and pans. Sieun was hovered over me with a mint leaf and an innocent giggle. “She’s awake guys. No need to make a call.”
“That’s right,” I groaned turning to my side after shoving her off. “Don’t make a call, please. If my parents found out, I’ll be dead.”
Hwanseol walks up and hands me a cup of warm water. “That’s the fourth time this month. I won’t even complain about you not cooking anymore... but you’re not cooking anymore!” She complains about my sickness, and I shot her a glare. “We miss your food, that too, but everyone is taking part of your job-- and it’s not good.” Hwanseol leans in to give me sympathy before whispering about the bad cooking.
Slowly getting up, I reached for the water before apologizing. “I know, and I’m sorry.” I took a sip of the warm water and gave it back before heading to my room to change.
We all walked over to the entertainment building and had to check in for the morning and practice our vocal lessons for the hour. Ms. Park walks on over to me and placed a hand on my forehead. “You don’t look too good. Should we take you for a check up?” I shook my head and insisted that I was fine. She looks at me for a moment and nods, “If you feel worse within the next hour, you’re going to need a check up.” I nodded assuring her that I understood.
“Can I take a break?” I asked. Ms. Park glances at my situation and with sympathy she nods. “Be quick.”
I quickly ran towards the door with all the strength that I had and opened it to leave. As I closed the door quietly and swiftly, I had turned to bump into Dowoon. “Rainie?”
“I’m sorry,” I quickly apologized and ran towards the bathroom without much saying. As soon as I got inside, my throat hurled and I had vomited all the water I had left in my system. The feeling was icky and the smell reeked of nothing but bad breath. I spent at least five minutes cleaning the smell before washing my hands and walking out.
“Are you okay?” Dowoon immediately straightens himself as soon as he sees me walk out the door with a faint pale face. “You’re still here?” I asked wiping my mouth. He stuttered, “Ye-yeah. I mean, I heard you… in there.” He pointed and rubbed the back of his neck. “I didn’t mean to sit and listen.” He added again to his defense when I frowned a bit.
Trying to let out a soft chuckle, I shook my head. “It was nothing.” I lied as sweat began to form and drip down my hairline. He looks at me unsure, “Are you sure? Your pale face says otherwise.” I still nodded and assured him before excusing myself that I was busy. I didn’t want to get caught horsing around, nor do I want to be caught up with him. He’s planning to debut soon, I just don’t think being close with him is a great idea with all the contracts floating around. I’d be put in great trouble.
Dowoon looks at me for a moment before sighing at my condition. “Hey, just so you know, you’re not alone. All new trainees suffer like this the first year. Most of them fail to keep up and drop out. Some of them withheld it and continue. Very little make it to the point of debuting.”
I tried to put on a smile. “Thanks for the tip.”
《▪▪▪》
“Isn’t the answer to problem number 6 is 4?” Sieun hands over her notebook to me and I glance at it. I yawned,“I guess? I didn’t do it yet.” We were walking back to the entertainment after the long day of school at Apgujeong.
“It’s 7.” Hwanseol points out Sieun’s mistake and lets out a laugh.
As soon as we walked inside the entertainment, Ms. Kim calls my name as if she had been waiting. “Rainie Lin.”
“Yes?”
“Come with me to floor 3.” She ordered and hands her clipboard to the front desk. I followed quietly with a fast pace trying to catch up to her although I had no energy left in me. “Have you been well?” She asks looking behind her shoulder. “Y-yes.” I replied lowering my head.
We take the elevator upstairs and silence covered the small space. It dings and the doors open. Before us stood all of the DAY6 members that were to debut. They paved the way for us, and Ms. Kim sends a glare at Dowoon who quickly lowered his head out of respect. He bit his lip before slowly walking into the elevator with the other boys. I didn’t think much of afterwards as we walked past all the meeting rooms and production rooms to the very back of the floor. “I’ve heard some complaints about your well-being. I wanted to make sure you’re alright, please wait here. The infirmary doctor will be here soon.”
“Hwanseol.” I muttered with disappointment and bit my lip. “No, not the girls. I’m sure they’re great for hiding your sickness, but you must report to us or the doctors if you’re not feeling well.”
Not the girls?
I lowered my head, “Noted.” Ms. Kim sighs and folded her arms, “I know I’m probably speaking out of terms, but as a warning and to keep you out of trouble-- and to remind you again-- I hope you do know not to mess with the upper hands of this entertainment.”
I gulped and nodded.
“For the sake of theirs and yours. So lay low and try not to distract too much attention. It will not do you good to be caught up in a scandal and it will not do them good. Understood?” She asks fixing her hair as she turns to look at herself in the mirror. “Yes, I understand.” “Good. Mr. Jeong will be here to check you up in a minute. Meet us in the basement when you’re done. -Oh, and also, the next warning may not be so kind.” Ms. Kim finishes and leaves the room closing the door.
I stood there with my head lowered until I heard the elevator door closed. I had not guts to look at her in the face being the frightened person I am of her. Exhaling with a big relief, I sat down on the bed. Who in the world told her about my sickness?
“Rainie Lin?” He asks looking at my profile after walking in. He inhaled deeply and set my profile aside. “I’m going to be asking you a few questions and I just want an answer, for now. If I find anything wrong, I will further my testing.”
“Okay.”
He clasped his hands together and place them in front of his belly. “Have you ever had headaches the past couple weeks?” I nodded.
Mr. Jeong fixes his glasses and sniffs a little. “Diarrhea?” I nodded again. “Yes.” “And fatigue?” He fixes his glasses and sniffs before noting everything down on my profile clipped on his clipboard. I nodded.
He glances back at me and examines the written words on his notepad. “Your body’s metabolism is slowing. This can also cause food cravings and overeating leading to excess fat. I suggest you to be careful with your surroundings, especially with dumbbells. By the looks of it, you’re very fragile at the moment, so don’t go lifting heavy things.”
Dr. Jeong sets his notepad down. “I won’t run any tests. I will prescribe you some medicine and vitamin, but those won’t be received until later on the month. When they’re ready, you’ll pick them up here. I do also suggest to start gaining more and discard the diet for a couple of days before slowing hopping back in.”
“Okay.” He ripped out his piece of notepad and hand me the prescribed the medicine and vitamins before heading out.
I stuffed the note in my back pocket and fixed my school outfit before heading out.
“So as out last meeting had ended, we’ve agreed to show the more innocent and cheerful side of GOT7 in being supportive… in a way.”
Hm? A familiar voice spoke from one of the rooms I had passed by drawing my attention. I peeped inside through the door crack and listened. The GOT7 members and Park Jinyoung sat around in a circle with some of the entertainment’s producers and managers. Some were flipping through pages of what seemed like the plans for their next album.
“I’ve composed the song lyrics that could possibly be the next title track. We also have three other tracks for the mini album planned.” Jinyoung pulls out three other packets of song lyrics from his folders. He shows the members the meaning behind the songs and it’s flow with the album.
“I also think that we may need to add two more tracks into the next album. Having four total tracks is just not enough and too little for promotion.” Jinyoung adds before writing something down on the whiteboard. “Jam Factory and Sam People are willing to write songs for this album and help compose, but this will need a little bit of collaboration. For this, I will have JB work with Jam Factory. I think the both of you have the same feel about this album and have compatibility in making music.” He writes down JB’s name onto the board before continuing. “I want Mark and Jackson to collab with Sam People for the other song in rap making as well. I think you two are ready to start the creative flow.”
A brush of hands swept my hair, and I immediately turn to look at who caught me with a screech of his name. “Dowoon!” “Shh!” He quickly places a finger on his lips and tells me to keep quiet.
“What are you doing?” He asks. Acting innocent, I stand up and brushed myself. “Nothing, I just happened to drop by.” I lied clearing my throat.
He looks at me and frowns, “I thought you were here for a check up?” “I already did- hey, how did you know- you didn’t have to complain about my health!” My voice raises as I point a finger at him.
There was a sudden silence inside the room and I squat back down to hide. “Is there something?” Park Jinyoung looks over to Dowoon at the doorway as Dowoon widened his eyes. He froze in position and stuttered, “Ah, so-sorry for interrupting. I dropped my handkerchief behind and came looking for it.”
I saw his eyes widen and point to where it was. “I left it here.” Dowoon pushed open the door and left me uncovered as he walked over to grab it.
Mark’s eyes instantly met mine and his eyes widened drastically. He tried withholding his laughter and looked away as if he hadn’t seen me. Jackson who was sitting next to him instantly looked over to me after catching Mark’s reddening face and immediately his eyes popped out. “Uhhhhhhhh.”
Junior looked on over at me and nearly hissed before nudging his head for me to run out of here. But being the nervous person I am at the moment, I shook my head and huddled tightly on the floor. When he notices that I wasn’t moving, he quickly nudges Jackson. “Ahem, Jackson, focus.” Jackson finally was able to close his mouth and clear his throat, “Ah, yes.”
Dowoon turns around and notices that he’s left me exposed when he had opened the door. He immediately rushes over and stands before me hiding me behind him. As he faces Jinyoung and the rest of the members he quickly bows with a rush to leave, but as he bows, JB looks over and realizes that I’m ducking behind Dowoon trying to hide. “Uh,” His pen comes forward to point out that I was hiding there.
“Is there something you wanted to add?” Park Jinyoung then asked looking back at JB. His eyes shot back to Park Jinyoung and clears his throat. “Uh- ahem!” JB coughs and drops his pen. “Ahem! Yes. Ahem! I had thought the idea to be brilliant. I think the plan is great. When do we meet up with them?”
The conversation continues, as Dowoon quickly closed the door shut. As soon as the door shuts, he squats down beside me in sweat. “That was close.” He chuckled, but I shivered as I wiped my sweat before leaning my head back on the wall, “I was seen! You’ve exposed me twice already!”
He shushes me quickly covering my mouth with his palm before grinning. He grits his teeth and his other hands pats my head, “I”ll make up for it.”

I watched as Jaebum stands there for a moment considering her thoughts. “Go ahead expose.

“Well, where did Rainie go?” Ms. Kim questions Chaeryeong with irritation. “Who else is going to skip today’s training?” Her voice raises with anger. “Seriously, did she not come in today?” “N-no, she did. Last time we checked, she left to grab water and went to the restroom.”
“I’m here. Sorry. I had some trouble in the washroom.” I quickly ran up to Ms.Kim and she narrowed her eyes on me. “Get on the scale. We’ve been waiting, Miss Lin.”
I stood on top of the scale and she wrote down my weight, height, and differences from last week. “5 feet and 6 inches. 61.8 kilograms. That is 3.4 kilograms different-- half the expected weight you were assigned to drop.” She says with some disappointment and writes down on her clipboard. She fix her glasses and looks at me, “Drop another 6 kilograms by next week.”
The door swiftly opens and in walks Park Jinyoung. Everyone sat down quickly after greeting him with a smile. Behind him were Cecilia and Lena, who walked in with slight nervousness. When Ms. Kim noticed them, on the other hand, her face flushed with a red face.
“Did they trouble you, Jinyoung?” she asks in concern meanwhile hissing at the two girls who caused her trouble. He shook his head, “No, it’s fine.”
“So as said, I will be hosting a reality show for the female trainees that I believe have the potential and readiness to debut by the end of the year with the approval of the CEO, Jeong Wook. We will start filming within the next week or so-- the schedule here may change due to complications. This show does not imply; however, that you win you debut or you lose you continue training. It is simply a show to give the chosen ones an insight of what you will somewhat experience out there.” He continues meanwhile glancing at Lena and Cecilia.  “It is an opportunity.”
“I’m also sure that you all have seen the names listed. However, there is are two potential alternatives that I have included if some opt out. As Lena and Cecilia recommended, Jeon Somi and Natty will be their alternatives. I, do also, am accepting. That does not mean; however, that those plan to also opt out are easily let go like this.” Jinyoung sighs and looks around before continuing.
“There is also an advantage in joining this survival show, whether that is winning or not winning. Think of it as another experience. This show will dive into the lengthy depths of composing song lyrics, practicing your vocals, showing your potential in being a star out there, and more. Any thoughts and concerns?” His statement ends there as he waits for any responses from us. There was none.
I turned to look behind me where Somi was. She gulped with her ears flushed. Her eyes meets mine and tries to grin, but she fails to do so. She was definitely nervous for all the judgements out there waiting for her despite the discrimination at school.
“Alright, I guess that is it. Those of you listed to be on the show will be meeting separately from the rest. We will be meeting on the third floor in room 2B daily from now on. The rest will be the same. That’s final.”
《▪▪▪》
“Oh gosh, I  need a shoulder massaaage!” Hwanseol grabs her left shoulder in pain. “I can’t believe I have to lose another 4 kilogram! I’m thin as wheat and weak as paper!” She complains looking at her legs.
“Tell me about, I have to lose 6 kilograms.” I groaned. “I can’t help it! Thin does not look good on me. I’ve just been toning more than losing.”
Chaeryeong suddenly walks ahead and turns around. “Where were you, Rainie? We searched the bathroom and the lobby; you weren’t there.” I stuttered to answer. “I-well, to tell the truth, I had to take a look at the bulletin.” “That did not take thirty minutes.” She continued feeling uneasy about me being suspicious.
“Okay, okay. I sort of sneaked and tried to eavesdrop on Lena and Cecilia.” I half admitted.
They all gasped in shock. “Well, what did you find out?”
“I-uh, I figured that they were going to talk about the reality show. They didn’t seem happy about it.” I stopped before I could go further and explain about JB and the CEO. The three of them looked at me waiting for more information. “That was it.” I finished.
“That’s it? Then Jinyoung just let them off the hook like that?” Sieun questioned feeling uneasy about the whole situation. “You don’t think they bribed him of some sort, did you?”
Hwanseol nudges her. “Of course not.”
“I did also- I mean, do you think the CEO of JYP Entertainment  is… a little creepy?” I asked. They looked at me oddly, “What do you mean by creepy?... And what does he have anything to do with this?!” I cleared my throat out of nervousness, “Well, Park Jinyoung does have to comply with the CEO in order to go through with Somi and Natty. He can’t just make a choice without consulting the head of the company.”
Sieun nods understanding a little, “Ohhhh, but then… again what do you mean by creepy?” I shrugged, “Like secretive, I guess?”
“That’s just simply being secretive. Top secret stuff to success and profit.” Sieun answers nonchalantly shrugging off the thought and the rest agrees.
                                                                                       Friday, April 10th 2015
“Did you hear? Lena and Cecilia is officially leaving the entertainment.” Sieun and Chaeryeong plops beside me.
Taking off my headphones, I fixed my shoes. “I did.” Chaeryeong sat down and popped open a water bottle, “No wonder they were let off so easily.” “I wouldn’t say so.” I muttered.
*Flashback*
“If the two of you do really find the need to exit this entertainment, I won’t stop you. If, however, it is just for the sake of the reality show, I can not let you do that.” Jinyoung says quietly.
“We’ve thought this through.” Lena says. “I don’t think becoming a star in South Korea is really what I want.”
“I figured that becoming an actress in my homeland is my pathway.” Ceci adds.
“You’ll be letting a lot of opportunities go.” Jinyoung says again trying to convince them to stay.
“We’ll be letting our dreams go if we consume these opportunities.” Ceci replies playing with her fingers. “I want to be a star, but not like this.”
“Okay, well. We’ll figure this out more throughout the week. By Wednesday, I do want a formal answer to let the CEO know. I normally don’t rush others decisions, but for the sake of this show… the both of you will have to decide within a matter of days.”
*Flashback ends*
“Rainie. Rainie?” Chaeryeong’s hands wave above me and I return to the spot. “Oh, sorry. I- I have to rush to work. Talk to you guys later.” I replied quickly rushing out of the basement.
The wind was blowing harshly and the city lights were on despite the fact that there is still much sunlight at 7 pm. The sky is pouring its heart out suddenly and as a bummer, I didn’t bring out my umbrella.
“Guess we’ll get wet today.” I muttered looking over my shoulder to where my plushie was. Quickly opening the door, I stepped out. Looking over my shoulder again, I pause for a second.
I immediately shoved the plushie under my armpit to keep it dry. “Is this even necessary?” I asked myself as I constantly look down at it. It seemed ridiculous.  Stepping out of the shade, I had got myself into a puddle.
“Seriously!”
That wasn’t my voice.
Turning my head around, I noticed Jackson and Cecilia behind the building. I quickly squatted down and hid behind the bushes.
“You’re leaving?” Jackson restated with a stressed tone.
They’re back in Seoul already? Didn’t they leave to Japan a couple days ago?
“Can you lower your voice?” She looks around for anyone wandering by. Her palette pink colored umbrella blocks their image as they continue to talk.  “I’m going back home in Australia. My family’s been planning to move back to Hong Kong, and I might as well follow.”
“Why? I thought you wanted this?”
She shook her head. “No, not anymore. I wanted my independence and peace while I am at it. I want to be able to make my own choices, and- and I can’t have it here.”
Jackson sighs and look around. “I won’t keep you here, if that’s not what you want.” “I don’t want that.” She assures before gazing up into his eyes. “I won’t be able to say goodbye to the rest of the members. Say goodbye to them for me?”
Jackson sighs in distress again, “Why did you tell me now? Why on the day before you leave?”
“I-I knew you were busy. I don’t want to keep you distracted from your schedules.” She kept her gaze at him with a heartfelt apologetic face. The rain still spilled with great tears and pain, but that didn’t stop them from loving each other.
The Cecilia inhales deeply before taking out her hand. “To new beginnings and different pathways.” Jackson smiles and nods slightly, although there laid pain in his eyes. He stuck out his hand and shook hers. “I’ll be seeing you rise elsewhere.”
Their conversation ended with a warm hug before they walked separate ways without speaking another word. It was their goodbye for good...
Did I just watch a love story break apart?
I let out a sigh understanding where Cecilia was coming from as I sat there thinking about their love story. They both were known as the trainee couples who dated… well, until the GOT7 members signed their contract. It was the greatest jealousy all of the female trainees had, as I heard. Everyone envied this fire couple and now it’s no more.
“Oh shit!” A cold drop of rain hit my cheek and I realized that I’ve spent time too long at one spot. “I’m so going to be late for work!” I hopped onto my feet and ran my way to the bus stop.
《▪▪▪》
So as the time goes by, the atmosphere get quieter. The training room feels a lot bigger and so does our dorms. Chaeryeong and Chaeyeon had moved out. Natty, Eunsuh, and Somi also left to dorm with the other girls. Yejin has replaced Chaeryeong’s place within our room and we all got along quickly. There was a problem however. My insecurities had kicked in like a mild run and I am falling into depression of some sort, I guess.
“I’m being severely punished.” I groaned with my head flat on the surface of the cold glossed table. I watched as the rest of them eat with my stomach growling. “It’s been growling all day.” I groaned again feeling the pain. “A little drop of water?” I asked trying to snatch Sieun’s bottled water.
“Ah, I can’t let you do that.” Sieun said sorrowfully. “Why not?” I whined quickly snatching it again. “I will be tormented if I do so,”  She reasons.
My face lightened and grabbed Hwanseol’s water bottle. “ If we  do so.” Sieun added again slapping my hands. I sighed in distress, “At this rate, I’m going to die. Just a sip?”
“No.” Hwanseol says sharply before gulping all of her water in delight. “You already had one water bottle, that’s it.” She added and I looked at her with desperate plea. “Sorry, Rainie, but you know what? We won’t let you down.” Hwanseol smiles and pats my back.
“How will I be able to go on for a week if I can’t survive today?” I nearly cried.
Yejin approaches us with nudge, “I’m done. Let’s go.” She says.
“Carry me? Someone?” I plea again. “Ah, come on. I can’t even walk right now. I thought you guys said you guys won’t let me down.” I grumped climbing onto Hwanseol’s back. “Piggy me to the dorm!” I ordered with a charge before all of us cracked into laughter.
When we reached the dorm, everyone was well rested. Even the three roomates fell fast asleep. Me? I starved trying to toss and turn to save my hunger. I tried reaching for the phone and call my family back at home, but that just wouldn’t do any good. Much luck on not getting lectured for still being awake and most definitely starving.
Groaning, I grabbed my plushie and placed it beside me. “This is the weirdest I’ve gotten yet. Maybe it’s because I’m starving or I’m falling into this deep sink hole, I don’t know… Is it me? My body? The standards? Other people?”
I sighed and yawned, “I don’t get it. What’s the point of dieting and becoming bones? I’ve lost 22 pounds since I’ve arrived. Do you like it? Does it look nice?” I asked looking at the smiling plushie before nearly crying. “I miss home.”
My voice croaked and I stopped talking to myself. “I’ll hallucinate soon if I keep this up.” I muttered before turning my back against the doll. “You do understand, do you?” I asked again grabbing my stomach.
                                                                                        Sunday, May 17th 2015
The room dimmed and all of the girls in our dorms huddled together in front of the living room catching up with the episode two of Sixteen. A bag of popcorn was placed in front of us for all of us to share. I mean, there’s twelve of us!
My hand reached out to grab a popcorn, but instantly, my hand was slapped away. “You’re still on that diet.” Sieun reminds as she grabs a couple in her own hands. I grumped with a slight irritation and sat back down.
“Here, a sip of this will help.” Hwanseol opens a bottled water and passes it over to me. My head falls back, and I pushed the offer away. “I’m fine. I’ll save that sip for later when I'm in the verge of dying.”
Hwanseol shrugs and sips the water gleefully teasing me. “Brat.” I hissed to which she laughs.
The second episode of Sixteen was so intense-looking and frightening. Everyone was competing for major and it seemed like friends were becoming foes.
My head felt light and dizzy after a while. Everything just woozed and wowed around me. Red and blue sparkles just seemed to be floating around everywhere. I took a deep breath and shook my head. Purple and green are now added to the mix.
“I-I, uhm, I’m going to use the restroom for a minute.” I excused myself quickly and guided my way through the dark hallway. The restroom just seemed to be so far out of my reach. It felt like miles and before I knew it, I was sweating. A flash of light turned on and it immediately went blank pitch dark. There was a thud and suddenly a rush of pain circled my head.

It’s Okay... to be Selfish, Part 2
Tumblr media
Member(s): Mark X Reader Genre: ANGST Words: 2K Words Plot: After that break last summer, you’re on about doing your best. It’s Autumn now and the best way to enjoy this season is to go out on a self date capturing the city’s best angle... but what happens when you’ve captured Mark again? What will be the end of this story? Love again? Farewells?
After that day, I changed finally coming to realize that I should value myself more than Mark could ever have done. I guess it didn't take long for me to adjust anyhow. I was going to have to move overseas for a better work and better escape for the suffers I've gone through here.
I walked down the city streets with a proud smile taking my camera out of my bag. The breeze was singing pass by me freshly with little hums to follow. The falls of the leaves were swaying themselves against the gravity. Orange, red, brown, purple. The naked tree with nothing but brown colors of itself was left.
With a smile, I placed my cup of warm coffee down on the nearby table beside me. The place where I've never seen so beautifully feels like Paris. Everyone walks pass by with a grand smile and warmth with a company by their side.
Picking up my camera, I focused it on mother nature's beautiful artwork and took a snap of the falling brown leaves. Everything was surreal around me. How can a place be so beautiful at a time like this?
I took a break after a while of wandering through the streets before sitting down on the cold bench. Looking through the many pictures in my camera scroll, I finished my warm morning drink. As I turned to throw the cup away, I noticed the water fountain and amusement park that Mark and I used to go was across the small busy street. There it was again, my feet were bringing me back to these horrible yet lingering memories that I could never forget unknowingly.
I watched as the small children ran around the fountain screaming at each other in joy and playful fears. Families posing around the beautiful sprout of water and taking photos of one another happily enjoying today's breeze. Young naughty kids jumping off the fountain as if it was the hill of King Kong to them. The scenery was just so beautiful and it only kept reminding me of... me.
Breaking a small smile across my face, I picked up my camera again ready to take some pictures of the beautiful people who were peacefully having their picnic as a family. However, it only kept reminding me of how Mark and I would've done the same. Trying to shrug off the thought, I zoomed into taking some closer pictures of the happy strangers... only notice someone standing beside the fountain. His dripping ice cream cone was melting within his warm cool hands. His black coat and turtleneck sweater were covering his face, but that didn't stop me from recognizing who it was.
Mark. There he was standing and staring into the cool beautiful water lost in his own deep thoughts. His dark hair falling down to his forehead meanwhile his dark ripped jeans were being stained with water that was splashing upon the surface of the pool below it.
For a moment my heart raced. It has been a while since I've last seen him. It's been 4 months already, but it felt like an entire decade. He was more beautiful than ever still. Flaws were unfound upon him... he was still perfect as usual.
Taking the camera away from my eyes, I looked at him from across the street. The melting ice cream was dripping down the cone that he held and onto his hand... down to his leather shoes, yet he still stood there lost.
I felt the push of someone passing by me and there was a sudden cry. The little girl who was busy being chased bumped into me, falling down with an injured knee. Her wails caught everyone's attention and there was Mark... finally back into his own conscious... looking my way as to where the noise was from.
I caught myself being noticed and immediately grabbed my things in a hurry. Rushing to get out of the crowd that was gathering around me, I swung my bag with my camera zipped up inside over my shoulder before turning to walk away with speed.
"Y/N," I heard my name being called from behind and I knew the voice was none other than Mark's. I didn't hesitate to wait for him, instead, I just kept walking. I'm not ready to meet his face... ever again. I can't ever find the courage to bring my face in front of him.
"Y/N!" Mark was following me with great speed as his voice was only growing closer to me. I quickened my pace pushing past people ready to drop everything and run away towards escape. What does he want? Everything was fine up until now, I was fine up until now... just why is it him again?
"Y/N" Mark finally says again, holding my arm in his grasp as he turns me around to look at him. My heart sank and a small whimper escapes from my mouth in fear. "It's you." He says in relief with a small smile. "I knew it, I knew it was you."
I continued to keep quiet as I wandered my eyes around his face. He seems to not have changed much. I expected him to at least look vulnerable for once, like how he left me, but now he looks good as new.
"Why are you running away from me?" He asks looking into my eyes, but I quickly avoided it. "Gosh, I missed you." Mark suddenly hugs me, tightly into his arms as he embraces me like it was his last time.
My fist tightened as I struggled to push him away. Tears were forming again and I don't need his comfort, especially since he was the one who took the first step to leave. "Don't," I warned him finally being able to push him away. "Don't touch me," I said again turning back around to leave, however, his hands come up and take a hold of mine before I could even take a step. "Stay with me." He pleads.
I stopped and turned to slowly look at his figure again. The wind whirling around us has quiet down and there stood still was just us. The busy street became quiet and people around us were suddenly invisible at this moment. Reprocessing his words, I the scoffed half-heartedly. "What?"
"Please... come back to me." He begs again and a shiver went down my spine causing me to shudder a bit. Hesitatingly, I clutched on my bag. "What happened?" I asked taking a dry swallow of air. "Where's your dream girl?" I mocked remembering the night he was so fond of her.
"I-I.. she left me." He answers guiltily unable to look up at me in the eyes. "I'm sorry Y/N... "
"Mark, I-... I can't find a way for us to be back together." I told him. "...Am I being selfish?" I asked remembering that it was always what we had asked each other whenever things felt unfair towards the other.
".." He was quiet, he too knew that I wasn't, and he understood why I am acting the way I am. I watched as his hand twitches, making me leave a small smile of gratitude. "You're nervous," I said making him quickly hide it behind his back. "It's... too selfish."
"Lies," I said sharply taking a step away from him. "I can't believe you. You're always lying. You only wanted me when you needed comfort." I reasoned realizing, after all, he's gone through and had put me in, he still didn't care at all.
He broke my heart once, and it was a warning for the both of us. He broke it twice, and that was a lesson. Yet, he still doesn't understand that it's him who's turning the tables around. There's no love in what we had at all. Nothing, but useless desires for warmth.
And for this third chance, I didn't want to be unhappy again.. I don't want him to be the one to take another advantage of me making me trust him when all I would receive back was fatal flaws of deceptions and manipulations...
"I don't know what you want this time from me Mark... but... I can't come back. It was me who was always there waiting for you in the same boat. How could I come back when you walked out on your own? You were the one that left."
There it was again... silence from him. I looked around sighing in grief and distress. The sky was turning dark by now. The people began walking by, the streets were crowded again with cars beeping and honking at each other. The wind was breathing again, but what only stood between Mark and me was silence now.
Hearing nothing from him, I checked the time. It was time to leave... time for me to pack my things and never look back upon this misery.
I looked back at him, waiting for an answer, but he only stood watching my every slightest movement. "Well?.." I shrugged my shoulders and he takes a sigh noticing the digital camera that I've always wanted as a present from him, "I see you got yourself a came-" And just at the same time, my phone rang drastically changing the mood for once. "Sorry," I told him before picking up the cell.
I ended the call quick and turned back to him with a small grin. I looked at his outfit and my smile grew brighter with a new image in my head. "Mark, can you do something for me?" I asked taking out my camera.
He shrugs and lets out a soft sigh. "Anything." "You wouldn't mind giving me a pose for a picture, would you?" I asked again fixing the vision.
"Sure." Mark shrugs again with a slump and a small smile appearing on his miserable face. Taking a few steps back for some distance, I looked into the lens. "Ready?"
He nods and looked at me for one last time and turned his head down to look at the cold gray cement floor under us. His hands were in his pockets with a slump of his shoulder... and then, he kneels down.
A small gasp escapes from my mouth in agony reminding me of the time he once came to apologize for me long ago. Taking a hard exhale as I began to cry silently, my weak hands come to balance the frame and took the photo. "Thank you." I then said lowering my head before placing the digital thing away.
"Y/-" Mark begins to speak again as he still maintains on the ground looking up at me, but I cut him off. "I have to go, I'm going to be late," I said quickly checking the time. Swinging the black bag over my shoulders, I turned around and began to walk away... leaving our past and memories behind us.
I watched as the sky turns dark gray and the leaves of bright colors become ash gray. Droplets of rain wash down on the city streets like it was crying making everyone run towards shelter. The happy families at the grand park across the street was now filled with emptiness.
"Was it because of me!" Mark shouts making me stop my tracks, and without turning to face him, I answered, Is it selfish to agree..?"

I watched as Jaebum stands there for a moment considering her thoughts. “Go ahead expose.

“Here’s my business card. If you have any further questions or response, call this number and you’ll be directed to me.” The man in glasses with a suit and tie hands me his business cards before placing his pen in his breast pocket. He stands for a moment watching me scan the card. “Choi Lee Hwan?” “Mr. Choi is fine.” He nearly cuts in. “I’ll be hearing from you.”
Moving my thumb where it covered part of the business card it revealed “JYP Entertainment”. “JYP Entertainment? Like 2PM & GOT7 JYP Entertainment!” I questioned with a serious tone. No way.
As I looked up to see no one before me, I realized Mr. Choi had long gone left the backstage.
“Line up, girls! We’ve got the last dance ticking on the clock!”
I quickly shoved the card in my duffel bag and ran up to the stairs that led to the stage before meeting up with the other girls. “Ready?” Everyone of us nods before throwing our hands into the center of our huddle and chanted. “3, 2, 1! Charge!”
Saturday, April 4th, 2015 (5 months later)
“JYP Entertainment is going to be producing a reality survival show for the female trainees. Those who make it to the end will debut within the end of this year and those who don’t will continue their training.” Ms. Kim lowers her clipboard and fix her glasses before continuing. As she scans the room with intensity, her eyes land on Cecilia and Lena. “This will be a very competitive competition. So, if your name is listed, you are required to join this reality show. The list may be adjusted throughout this week and some changes may also be made. More information will be explained by Park Jinyoung, himself, tomorrow. Thus, you must be on the watchout. That’s final. The list and announcement will be posted on the bulletin on floor 4 tomorrow morning. You all are released for the day.”
Everyone rushed out of the room with a pain of some sort, whether that is shoulder pain or knee pain. I, for one, walked out with a back sore. Chaeryeong and Sieun caught up to me with giggles. “What so funny?” I questioned. “Aren’t you excited for the survival show?” Sieun asks with excitement. I shook my head with a smile. “Should I? I’m more worried if I am ever on that list.”
“Think about it, it’d be a great chance to debut!” Chaeryeong chimes, but I just chuckle. “It’s been only 3 months of my training, I don’t think I’m ready. However, I will cheer the both of you guys on if you guys ever enter the show.”
“Hey, I need to use the restroom for a minute. Wait for me on the lobby floor.” Sieun groans and grabs her stomach. “Yeah, uhm. We’ll head up.” I replied, but Chaeryeong stays behind. “I might as well use the restroom now or never. The dorm will have a long line.”
I shrugged. “Go ahead. I’ll be up here.” She nods and turns towards the restroom. As I head up, Ms. Kim’s voice down the hallway stops me for a moment. “Cecilia, Lena, wait.”
I quickly stoop down and hid behind the trash realizing this is something serious.
“Yes?” They replied. Ms. Kim pauses for a moment, “I- this show is vital to the both of your debut. I know what you’re thinking, but this show is an opportunity to experience what it’s really like. You both will enjoy it.”
“So we’re on the list.” Cecilia complains. “Yes-no. I can’t answer that. What I’m trying to say is, there’s not really a way out of this reality show.”
“We don’t have a choice?” Cecilia says again. “Like always,” she mutters under her breath.
“Then what about 6MIX?” Lena asks. Ms. Kim sighs, “The rest of the members are already notified about this.-” “You mean, we are on that list.” Cecilia interrupts. “I thought we were set to debut near fall somewhere? Why are we going through this ‘stage’ to debut? Plus, a survival show? A show to test us? We win, we debut? What if we don’t win? Train again? For how much longer?” Her voice raises with the verge of tears.
“Ceci, I can’t answer those questions. I wanted to let the both of you know and consider it.”
Lena rubs Ceci’s shoulder and calms her, “Consider?” Then, Lena clears her throat. “Ms. Kim, excuse us. It’s late, we need some rest.” Ms. Kim nods, “Right. I won’t keep you guys much longer. Rest well.”
“We will, thank you.” Lena replies and grabs Ceci with her before the both of them could towards the stairs.
I took a run for it and quickly ran up the stairs to sit on the floor. I watched as Lena and Ceci walked out of the front door of the building in quietness. I just somehow felt burdened; I knew I shouldn’t have listened.
“Woah! You scared me, Rainie!” Chaeryeong shouts with a slight jump and laughs. “Get up, don’t sit like that. You look like a ghost waiting for food.”
I got up and gave her a dead look of are-you-serious. “Come on, let’s go sleeeeep.” I yawned. “Yeah, and by that you mean homework.” She adds wrapping her arm around my shoulders.
That’s when our struggle kicks in. “Ugh, don’t even mention it!” Chaeryeong shouts.
《▪▪▪》
“Rainie, how the hell do you solve number 17?! I’m stuck!” Sieun throws me her paper in anger. “I’m so tired… I need coffee. Anyone?” Chaeryeong yanks her blanket off and looks at us. “Get me two.” Sieun holds up two fingers behind her as she focuses on her little tutoring session.
“And then you drop the 7 down and multiply here to there.” I simply added before handing her her paper. The door swings open again and in comes Hwanseol drying her hair.  “Oh hoooo. You ditched us, girl!” Sieun points the tip of her pencil at Hwanseol with a devilish grin. “Sorry? I needed a hot shower.” She apologizes and plops on her bed.
“Gosh, it’s so loud.” I complained covering my ears. Pots and pans were banging right in the kitchen. “Seriously, it’s like a zoo here.” I added.
Hwanseol chortles, “It is a zoo here. I can’t wait until some of us move out.” She yawns and adjusts herself to the bed above me. “What do you mean?” I asked.
She adjusts herself again and responds with a little groan, “Well if some of us are on the list to be casted on the survival show, I’m sure those girls are going to move to another dorm. You know, so they can probably focus on the debuting and little less on the training.”
I nodded understanding the changes that could occur. There’s twenty of us younger trainees living together in one dorm; there could be a huge change in expanding our spaces. Our dorm is not so big either, there’s one small kitchen and a single fridge for twenty people! There’s five rooms and each for four people; it’s sometimes suffocating.
“Two coffee for Sieun.” Chaeryeong walks in and placed them on her desk. “Sieun. Sieun!” Sieun groans and Chaeryeong nudges her before shaking her head. “Seriously, she’s asleep you guys. Can you believe her?”
The rest of us groan and threw our pillows at her. “Like always!”, everyone laughs and turned off the light in the room.
There goes the silence again with three flashlight lit in the room. “Seems like our battery is going to die at this rate.” Chaeryeong yawns before shutting off her flashlight. “That’s it, I’m off to bed.” “Yeah, me too. See you tomorrow, Rainie.” Hwanseol groans and turns off her light. “Goodnight to the both of you, I guess.” I replied looking at the clock, 1:36 am.
“82.125? That’s not right.” I punched in the keys back into my calculator before entering. “78.”
There was a sudden knock on the door and a voice echoes. “Rainie? Are you still awake?” It was Somi.
I grabbed the doorknob and opened it. The light hits me right in the eye and I blinked for a moment, “Ye-yeah.” Somi hands me a package. “That came in earlier today, I forgot to mention it to you when you guys walked in.” “Oh, thanks.” I took a hold of it and placed it on my hips forgetting to mention that I never did ordered anything. “Don’t stay up too late. You might want to rest for tomorrow,” She told me before walking to her room and I nodded closing my door.
Quickly grabbing my pair of scissors, I opened the box in a rush anticipating what was in it. There was a note taped onto the cylinder packaging with a writing.
“My Dream Knight?” I questioned. Opening the lid, I grabbed a soft plushie and flashed my light at it. JB? GOT7’s leader JB? My Dream Knight? I let out a soft laugh thinking that this whole situation is somewhat hysterical.
Picking up my phone, I send a text over to my mom.
“Thank you for the guardian angel. I’ll make sure to take it wherever I go.”
Soon enough a text of reply sends back with a heart and a “You’re welcome, darling. Take care of it. Also, go to sleep. -_-”
I let out a laugh and shut off the flashlight after placing the plushie and phone on the night stand beside me. “Goodnight, I guess.”
                                                             Sunday, April 5th, 2015
You’re really going to bring that with you here?” Hwanseol looks at the plushie and judges with a slight embarrassment. “Yes. What harm can it make?” I questioned feeling a slight annoyance at the girls embarrassment.
“What if the members of GOT7 see it?” Sieun questions quietly as we enter the entertainment building. I rolled my eyes with a half smile shaking my head. “They wouldn’t possibly really have the time to care. They’ve got more important things to focus on.” I replied turning around to slap Sieun’s hands off of my plushie.
“Ahem!” Chaeryeong clears her throat strictly and boldly. All of us looked ahead and straighten. A soft chuckle releases from Chaeryeong mouth as we all move out of the way and bow. “Good morning.” We greeted the GOT7 members, although we couldn’t see their faces, and their managers as they walked out of the door. I couldn’t even hear if they responded to our greetings, but I think I counted only 6 pairs of shoes.
“What are you counting?” Hwanseol nudges. “Huh?” I turned to look at her with a blank face. A laugh runs out of her mouth. “I saw you counting shoes. How many were there?” “Six.” I blurted before I could shut it. “Hah! So you were counting their shoes!”
I shushed her and we walked down that stairs into the training room. Chaeyeon turns around and looks at her sister, “You’re late.” Our laughter stops and Chaeryeong looks at her sister. “Why- what’s going on?”
Some of the trainee girls sat down on the glossed floor and others were busy stretching out, but the atmosphere was quite serious and gloomy. Chaeyeon walks over to us, “Did you see it?” She asks quietly looking around cautiously. “See what?” We all asked. “The list. Floor 4, bulletin?” Everyone of us shook our heads. “Why. Whose names are on there?”
Chaeyeon took a moment to calm herself. “Well, for one… I am.” Then, she turns to her younger sister. “... and so is Chaeryeong.” We froze for a minute looking stunned. Eyes wide open, jaws dropping, the three of us gawked except Chaeryeong.
“And what about them?” Chaeryeong looks at us and shrugs a bit, but she was excited as ever to be. Chaeyeon shakes her head. “It’s just you out of the four-”
The door swings open and in walks Ms. Kim.“Good morning, ladies! Take a seat please.” Ms. Kim walks in with her clipboard again and fixes her glasses. When the room was quiet she began, “Jinyoung will be a little late this morning in going over with the reality show; therefore, it is delayed for a couple of hours. Something complicated has come up, but don’t fret.  Jinyoung will be attending here later between 8 and 9.”
“So ignoring the change of schedule for the morning, let’s start with the usual. I’ll start weighing the senior trainees first, since Ms. Park is not available today. Those of you waiting at the back, better start losing those kilograms if you haven’t yet.”
Most of the girls lined up but we all sat down together in quiet.
“Where’s Lena and Ceci?” Ms. Kim looks around the room and lowers her glasses. “Does anybody know where they’ve gone to?” No one answers. “Nayeon? Jihyo?”
“We have no idea, they were gone when we woke up this morning.” Jihyo answers closing her cold water bottle.
Some of the other trainee girls began snickering among their talks about the missing two and looked around. “Weren’t they on the list?” “I saw it too. Do you think they went to talk it out with Jinyoung?” That’s right. Maybe that’s why there’s a change of plans today.” “No way! Ms. Kim wouldn’t be questioning about them right now.”
I cleared my throat. “I’m going to grab a water. Do you guy need any?” All shook their head, and Sieun stood up. “I’ll come with-” “No, I-I also have to the restroom. It’ll take a while.” I interrupted. “Oh, okay.”
I quickly walked out and ran up the stairs to floor 4. “The bulletin.. Ah, here it is.”
“I knew it. All the members are here.” I quickly ran to the back of the floor where the production system and the CEO, Jeong Wook’s, office was. His office was slightly open and I peeped inside hoping to see the two in there. However,  instead of seeing them, JB was in there.
“You do know this is a major assignment, and only you can pull it off. I don’t want the other members knowing, not even the managers to know. This is top secret.” Jeong Wook says in a low quiet tone. There was a moment of silence and then a sigh. “No one can know about this.” He reaches under his desk and slides a device that looks like an ipod.
An ipod? For what?
JB’s eyes stares at it before focusing his attention on the CEO. Then he broke his silence. “Do we know where it is?”
“Of course not.” Then the CEO sighed before leaning back on his chair and relax. “This was a mistake made, but it’s a brilliant one.”

I dont know what that person means either and I, too, dont like what that person said. Culture appropriation? Find a better argument and problem to worry about! There's people out there starving! Argue about that and possibly find a way to end it! Stop creating nonsense drama that ain't worth anyone's time to read. 👊 what happened to culture unity and liking something?

ALRIGHT. LISTEN UP.
So recently, I got calls from the phone number, (937) 353-8319. They claim to be a job service, and one of their “employees”, Carrigan, is friends with whoever the call recipient is, and that Carrigan has recommended you for this $15.00/h “job”. I also got a text message from (937) 607-1493, claiming to be Carrigan, and that they need stuff to “win a scholarship”. I do not know anyone by the name of Carrigan and I know very well that this is a very dangerous scam. If you receive a call from a number, and they ask you if you would like a job for $15.00/h, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. If you accept the “job” offer, and you go in for an interview, they will give you a drugged bottle of water and you will wake up somewhere you don’t want to be. These phone calls & texts are from a human trafficking service, and if you oblige to them, you will be sold to people and you will be raped, no doubt about it. So PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS OR TEXTS. I have listened to the voicemails, and allowed my dad to do the same, and he learned that anyone offering a $15.00/h “job” is a human trafficker. PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST THIS ALL OVER TUMBLR
