South Park successfully convinced an entire generation of little shit kids that being Gay wasn't "gay". And I don't think new Queers appreciate just how big an accomplishment that actually was in the 2000s. They successfully made this:

less "gay". I don't really know how to describe it properly. The show's first pro gay message was in the fourth episode of the first season in 1997. That was fucking groundbreaking at the time.

Unsurprising actually. South Park did more to help me accept that it was ok to like other men than pretty much any other show on television or any other cultural influence in the world at the time.
Legitimately, without South Park's influence I think I would be a worse, or at least more suppressed person.

Satan from South Park was probably the most positive gay representation I saw growing up and I have no idea how to feel about that.

Then they are weak. If they honestly wanted to start watching Gundam with a show that screamed "THIS IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS" at the top of its lungs that's on them. If their opinion of a 45 year old franchise with over a thousand episodes total is being determined by 12 episodes then they would always try to find an excuse to jump off. And if they wanted a yuri show...they could have just watched any Yuri show or Yuri manga. Hell it ends with Nyaan and Machu being "roommates", it's a better end than Char/Amuro or Yamagi/Shino got.
Me watching GQX episode 1: Wow, this show already looks like it's going to outo WFM in terms of protagonist, story, and yuri, as that show left a fair bit of room for improvement for all 3 of those.
Me finishing GQX: I will never take WFM or sulemio for granted ever again.

saw some speculation on what exactly the zeknova does, and whether it's actually transporting people to a physical location or what. i'm here to answer that question.
it takes you to the closet from g-witch where side characters go when the writers don't know what to do with them

i think what gets me about AC6 is the naked CONTEMPT it has towards the student pilot and everything he represents.
he shares a VERY exclusive position with the final boss as having a mission dedicated to killing him, and only him. there are no other ACs, no MTs, not even a small obstacle course to jump around in. the second the mission starts, you arrive at his position and are given the objective to kill him. removed from the context of AC6, the mission actually starts to feel a bit strange. because if this tester AC is so damn important, why arent there any guards? why isnt it defended?
why isnt the AC being piloted by... i dont know, G13 Macquarie?
the answer is that Armored Core VI fucking DESPISES the Student Pilot. everything he represents deserves to die. its this strange holier-than-thou protagonist attitude he has. "I can't die to a merc who kills for credits!" the fact that he seems to believe there is some intrinsic difference between killing for corporations or killing for pure cash is very telling, both of his actual experience and of his idiotic worldview.

Fuck It, One last thought.
Digimon Data Squad did a better job with the immigration, colonialism, and "nature of humanity's evil" themes than the Netflix Devil May Cry show did.
Final thoughts on the Devil May Cry Netflix abomination
If I wanted to watch a snarky and boisterous guy with magic powers and a red coat deal with a Refugee Crisis and Genocide I would have watched Fullmetal Alchemist.
If I wanted to watch Johnny Yong Bosch play a red coated gunslinger who loves pizza and has to juggle humanity's immorality contrasting with its potential while also dealing with an evil twin brother with a preference for the color Blue I would have watched Trigun.
If I wanted to watch a show dealing with the horrors of war and humanity's capacity to dehumanize the enemy I would have watched Gundam.
The show just isn't Devil May Cry, it's a bunch of ideas thrown together in a really ugly collage of contrasting themes and ideas.
