It's February, so here is some recent commission work #caricature

Feel like you can't do a month long challenge and not write a reflective post to end it. First off, I had a lot of fun doing it. Overall I was happy with the outcome. Some personal favorites: Danny Devito, Whoopi Goldberg, and Paul Rudd (Rudd especially because I was worried about getting a likeness and I thought I captured him pretty well. Least favorite: all those young pretty girls. It's funny, but the things that make someone pretty are the same things that make them hard to caricature. I'm glad they were on the list, I need to keep practicing on the more difficult faces. Oh, and Jesse Eisenberg, didn't have the time I wanted on that one. Overall, I felt the challenge did what it was suppose to do. It created the habit of drawing everyday. Even now I'm wondering who to draw tomorrow. I did hit a wall about the midway point. I think it was a combination of still having around 15 caricatures to draw and it was around a group of celebrities I didn't care to draw. I pushed through and by the time I had 10 left I knew I had to finish. I had fun back at the end again. I tried a mix of digital and traditional. Mostly using the variety to keep things interesting. Moving forward I'm going to start exploring some of the things I tried on this challenge. Mostly exploring a combination of shapes and lines. I'm looking forward to taking more time on pieces instead of getting them done quickly. Will I do it again? Yes, I always look forward to anything that will help me grow as an artist. #caricature #caricatureresolution2017
