3D printing with a robotic arm?
In the video above, a robotic arm is used to extrude molten plastic and produce furniture. Just like 3D printing with a robotic arm right, so what?
Well this is where it gets interesting; the material used (plastic granules) is made of waste from the production process of another of designer Dirk Vander’s products. These granules are then melted and extruded as they are printed.
If applied to the world of consumer 3D printing, this means that failed prints or waste material could be reused very easily.
As for the designers claims that its quick, well of course its going to be quick with a 10 mm layer height.
