Osteoarthritis ICD 9
Osteoarthritis (OA Osteoarthritis ICD 9 715.9) is also known by the name degenerative arthritis or degenerative joint disease. It is a group of mechanical abnormalities involving the degradation of joints,[1] including articular cartilage and subchondral bone. Symptoms of osteoarthritis may include joint pain, tenderness, stiffness, locking, and sometimes an effusion. A variety of causes, including hereditary, developmental, metabolic, and mechanical, may initiate processes leading to loss of cartilage. When bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage, it can potentially be exposed and damaged. As a result of decreased movement because of the pain, ligaments may become more lax and the muscles in the area may begin to atrophy.

Many of us at this time of year are getting excited for the pending Christmas season. It’s almost upon us and we’re looking forward to spending time with family, relaxing and sleeping in and breathing a big sigh of relief for at least a few days of freedom from our daily pressures.

We’ve all had a little bump or bruise at one time or another – bonked our knee on a coffee table or received a scratch from a branch. As regular people, we normally don’t give it a second thought and expect to heal within days… some of us within seconds. Unless our injury is something serious like a broken arm, we barely give any credence to the minor inconvenience to our body. I used to be this way and though nothing of a little nick here or there.

Have you ever thought to yourself how you cope with things? Have you wondered how events, either good or bad, affect your outlook and subsequent quality of life? Do you ever think of how your body, mind and soul is shaped through crises in your life?
For the past 14.5 years, I’ve experienced the incredible blessing to be married to the same woman. In many ways I’ve equated my good fortune to that of one who wins the lottery. I’ve always said that most guys have the good fortune to “marry up” and somehow, in some cosmic moment of great weakness, this beautiful woman felt it in her heart to marry me. Through thick and thin, better or for worse, good times and bad we’ve stuck through things together.

Conversation
A chat with Jesus Christ
Jesus: Hello. Did you call me?
Man: Called you? No. Who is this?
Jesus: This is Jesus. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.
Man: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.
Jesus: What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.
Man: Don’t know. But I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic. It’s rush hour all the time.
Jesus: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Man: I understand. But I still can’t figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
Jesus: Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.
Man: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
Jesus: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Man: why are we then constantly unhappy?
Jesus: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
Man: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
Jesus: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
Man: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.
Jesus: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Man: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
Jesus: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.
Man: You mean to say such experience is useful?
Jesus: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Man: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
Jesus: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Man: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading.
Jesus: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Man: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
Jesus: Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Man: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
Jesus: Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Man: What surprises you about people?
Jesus: When they suffer they ask, “why me? When they prosper, they never ask “Why me” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
Man: Sometimes I ask, who I am, why am I here. I can’t get the answer.
Jesus: Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Man: How can I get the best out of life?
Jesus: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Man: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
Jesus: There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.
Man: Thank you for this wonderful chat. I am so happy to start the day with a new sense of inspiration.
Jesus: Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don’t believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
Man: Thank you so much.
Jesus: You are always welcome. Have a good day my friend.
" Always remember, God's Word is the Word for YOU ".

This is just a brief note to let you know of a new website that has been developed that I'm sure everyone will appreciate at one time or another. The website, ThePrayerChain.org, has been developed by me on behalf of my wife and I to be a support to those who are feeling burdened and looking for prayer.
Prayer is a pretty fantastic thing. If you are a Bible believing, born-again person like me, you can understand the power of prayer. It's not simply about saying a few short prayers like “Thanks a bunch for this new flat screen TV' or a quiet 'Please God, let me have that car' type of thing. Nope. It's about having a personal relationship with Jesus and simply talking to Him like you would talk to the person sitting next to you. Seriously, it's a pretty freeing and empowering thing.
So, almost every person that I've ever come across has the need for prayer in one way or another. They need prayer for relationships, health, finances or a job situation. Prayer can also be used to say thank you to God for things – like relationships, health, finances or a new job. The cool thing is that, as lost and alone as one may feel, one is never left to fumble through things alone. ThePrayerChain.org, although it is completely and 100% anonymous, is meant to bring people together in Jesus through prayer.
This is what ThePrayerChain.org is all about. It's about lifting others up to let them know that they are not alone in their situation. It's about having others who care walk along beside you in a journey that you might feel simply impossible were you all alone.
We trust this site bring you healing, happiness, relief and perhaps a little closer to God. Why not give your troubles to God? The way I see, He's going to be up all night anyways.
Blessings friends...

I’m Not Dead: Living with the Loneliness of Invisible Chronic Illness and Pain
In the classic comedy movie Monty Python and the Holy Graille, there is a scene where the local Dead Collector wanders through the village crying “bring out your dead!” A poor soul, thought to have met his demise from the Black Plague, is brought out to the Dead Collector’s cart. Suddenly, this presumedly dead person blurts out, “I’m not dead!”
Do you suffer daily in silence with chronic illness and pain and feel that you’re invisible? Do you feel that no matter how poorly you feel, you simply get the shoulder shrug and relegated to being an after thought? Much like the poor soul mentioned above who was thought to be dead but in fact was very much alive, most people who suffer from chronic illness and pain feel like yelling “I’m not dead!”
Speaking from experience from watching someone I love suffer through the sentence of chronic illness and pain, she is in fact very much alive. We were chatting the other day about how it seems people simply a) don’t care about her suffering and ignore it or b) pay lip service to her condition and as soon as she’s out of sight she is forgotten. In our discussion, my wife mentioned how, through tears streaming down her face, it feels like she is living through her own funeral as most people, many considered friends, simply ignore her. Through trying to figure out the perceived crassness of people in their ignorance of the suffering of others and how to deal with it to her seemingly being forgotten as a societal burden, it donned on us that this is simply how it is. It’s life and we, just as others need to learn how to cope with those afflicted with invisible chronic illness, need to learn how to cope with our reality.
We’ve discovered that, through our dealings with a great number of people who are aware of our situation, most people simply don’t have the capacity to cope with someone who is in chronic pain every day. There is no moment in time in my wife’s life where she is feeling great. People simply don’t have a frame of reference for that reality, so the best mechanism to cope is simply to withdraw and ignore.
Do we blame people for this reaction? We came to the realization that, no, we don’t blame them at all. The fact of the matter is, this is just reality – people don’t have the tools to cope or respond. This, however, does not make it any easier to deal with the lack of contact from people once considered friends, people who have the best of intentions but simply don’t have the tools to cope. We really can’t blame any of them. If we were in their shoes, would we want to hang out with someone who we assumed couldn’t really participate in any activities? Is it not easier to simply ignore the seemingly overbearing elephant in the room and not deal with it all?
What people don’t realize is that all a person who suffers daily from invisible chronic illness and pain want is to be treated like a regular, normal person. They want to be treated and recognized just as any other healthy person would be. They would love a phone call to ask how they’re doing, an invite to a lunch or tea and perhaps even a visit to their home. A person with invisible chronic illness has learned to cope with the expected rejections, but this doesn’t mean it’s easily accepted. Quite often, just as others don’t know how deal with a person with a chronic illness, the afflicted wants to forget they have an illness. As mentioned earlier, just as the poor soul who claimed he wasn’t dead yet, a person with chronic illness and pain wants to be recognized as an individual who has a lot to give and offer.
Quite often people simply don’t know what to do, which is ok. We know that it can be uncomfortable to know what to say or do. My suggestion is simply to ask how the person is doing – genuinely ask and listen. We are thankful for those who have sent emails, sincerely tried to connect with questions, cooked meals, offered words of encouragement, supported us financially and showed Christ’s love and grace to us. It is these demonstrations of grace and love that truly keep us sane most times as we deal the daily realities of what we go through.
As much as the thoughts in this note are personal reflections, we know that there are others suffering with many of the same thoughts and feelings. The vision of CureMyWife.com is to be a support for women suffering with chronic illness and pain and to let them know that they aren’t moving through all of this on their own and that there are others who can relate to their pain. To those who feel alone in their suffering, know that there are other praying and lifting you up for the strength each day to keep on keeping on.
I wrote a song a little while back called Invisible. It was a song written to draw attention to and inspire those women who suffer daily with chronic illness and pain. Take a listen and perhaps you know of someone who would be blessed to hear and know that there are others fighting the same fight they are.
