went to ESNS to see Käärijä with @jaarijani and @linkhundr and had an amazing time 💚

two funny things:

waiting outside in the queue to be let into the venue and kä and an interviewer just sit down at the window right next us

kä is handing out cds to the crowd during the gig, he says "only for people who aren't fans yet", I'm a second too slow to put my hand down and he sees my green hair and Trafik shirt and looks me dead in the face and says "not you, you already big fan"

I didn't actually realise how prolific I was with regards to my writing last year until I checked my AO3 today.

2024 was absolute miserable garbage for the most part (at least the second half) and yet I managed to publish 8 works, 3 of which were finished oneshots and the others first and second parts to soon-to-be-completed trilogies or multi-chapter sequels.

this is compared to:

2023 - 1 oneshot

2022 - 6, 3 oneshots, 1 final part to a trilogy, and parts 1 and 2 of a trilogy that I'll never finish.

2021 - 2, parts 1 and 2 of a trilogy completed in 2022.

2020 - 3, 1 oneshot, 2 abandoned multi-chapters

2019 - 0

2018 - 0

2017 - 12, 2 oneshots, a 7 part series, parts 1 and 2 of an incomplete trilogy, and an abandoned collab multi-chapter

This makes 2024 the best year for my writing since the time I was still active in the wrestling fandom, not just as far as quantity goes but also I feel in quality.

Writing for my ESC boys really gave me my inspiration back after so long... and though I know full well it'll never be as successful as my nu-metal stuff, I feel such a love for these works, these guys and everyone I've met since returning to tumblr.

I really hope I can keep this feeling. ESC might not have gone the way I had hoped for any of these guys but I'm so grateful to them for the connections I was able to make because of their music ( @cutebodyhorror @stealthywing @spentandpent @vonnoddity, even a few people in real life @jaarijani @linkhundr 💚 and getting to reconnect with @kidvoodoo again years since we both moved on from wrestling).

Anyway, sorry for the tagging in this sappy post, I was just feeling reflective in a surprisingly positive way for once alsfkfjdkkd
