I'm desperate. Saturday is approaching and I haven't received any donations to go to North Gaza, which costs $1,000. My children, Elif and Joan, are crying. We need your donations to reach the goal.

I got stuck on Facebook reels and became addicted to those really bad Chinese mini-dramas that are all recycling the same 3 tropes. I don't spend money on them at all, but send help. They are awful and I love them.
Every single one is either a second life or isekai and it rotates around 2 core plots about some starcrossed lovers or revenge with a "main character gets a better partner" subplot. Sometimes it's revenge against a bad partner, sometimes it's revenge against terrible parents and siblings. But it really is the same stories over and over.
I especially love the terrible English names the subtitles give them. Like this one right now uses every character's full legal name every time.
God they are such trash. The MC just kicked out her husband and his mistress and immediately her long lost ex-fiance just pulled up. It's even more abrupt in the show.
It's a blazing dumpster fire of dog shit. I love it.

Moving
Currently looking at moving my posts from here to another blog since I'm currently falling into some old patterns with crashing out over politics, so I want to reorganize and move my political posts over to their own blog, this blog's post to a clean side blog that is entirely about critical analysis of media, stuff like that. I'm need to compartmentalize the chaos in my brain.
Sorry about recently.

I’m really surprised they didn’t go for a “Stolas wants to prove himself to Blitz by being more than a mouth to feed” arc starting in Sinsmas. I get Stolas is depressed, but it’s interesting how he doesn’t go “I don’t deserve this” on camera while Blitz is helping him or spending loads of money on him.
The fact that he just lets Blitz spend all his money on him without going to a food bank or picking up items for Blitz as a thank you really shows what kind of person he is.
Seriously. Every episode, it's so easy to think that this will be it, this will be the one where Stolas finally starts shaping up and becoming a better person and a more equal partner to Blitz, and every episode he just gets more self-centered and crueler and worse. I feel bad for the people who love them as a ship and are finally starting to realize that this is it, this is what their relationship is like, and Viv doesn't see a problem with that.

Hypocrisy is something I personally consider worse than evil. Lies are worse than blatant stupidity to me. But there's a growing understanding within me that people... Suck? I try to think that while some people are truly hollow ghouls and social parasites, I try to believe that is the minority. That most people are just uneducated or don't know.
You don't know what you don't know.
But with the way the world, the whole world, is heading I have to question that belief. It is idealistic. It is optimistic. Is it so idyllic and optimistic that it's stupidity? I felt that way when it came to gun control. I always believed that gun control was paramount to reduce violence and deaths. But that only is the case if you exist in a world that would be safe for you to be unarmed.
That world doesn't exist. Even if we took away guns, there are people who will still commit violent crimes like rape, murder, torture, and human trafficking. I watched a video of UK right wing zealots barricade the door of a burning hotel because it was where migrants were living. I saw a video of a woman burn to death as people stared on, not a single expression of outrage at how such a thing could happen. The closest thing anyone did to attempt to help was literally fanning the flames.
The world is not less violent when guns are taken. You just have less options to deter violence.
Even gun control in California is based on racism. Implemented by Ronald Reagan's stint as governor in the 70s to disarm the Black Panthers for simply being armed during an otherwise peaceful protest. A protest that was peaceful largely in part to the guns being in attendance as anti protestors suddenly were not so emboldened as to assault the demonstrators.
So we live in a world where we just think things are good in a vacuum and not question why or how. But then I have to challenge people to do that. Ask why. What would it take for your beliefs to shatter like mine did? What would the state of the world have to be for you to consider that maybe this isn't working? That maybe we aren't at a place where these beliefs can exist yet.
And the answers I get are what makes my stomach churn and my skin crawl. Because they insist that isn't possible. Even as we are seeing the world burn, they insist that the right answer is not putting out the flames, but simply believing we are fireproof.

When Trump and Muskrat demand government employees to return to the office, the Democrats are all about how bad this is for Taxpayers.
Where was that when Gavin Newsom, Nancy Pelosi's nephew, did this last year in California.

Just an FYI. The FDA is not allowed to announce any food recalls due to the health communications pause the current administration enacted. You can still find this information by visiting USDA the site directly.
https://www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls
Here’s the fda link to use to search for recalls, safety alerts, and market withdrawals.
https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts
So, while you are making your grocery list, you may want to visit the recalls list since there’s no public communication right now.

Learn how to rewrite the narrative.
The death of Brian Thompson saved tens of thousands of lives by directly causing Blue Shield to back down from capping the amount of anaesthesia covered by the insurance. His death saved uncountable lives, actively. There are people today benefitting from his death. Not a death as a martyr, but as a threat.
We have a short memory. Keep repeating what happened. Keep insisting on this narrative. This is the reality. Don't let the media change it. Don't let the government change it.
Don't let them change it.
This is the People's History of the United States.
#brian thompson#rewrite the narrative#stake a claim on how history is remembered#dont go silently into that future#keep the narrative alive#keep it fresh#because one man died#thousands are alive today#luigi did nothing wrong#luigi is innocent

This song is how I often feel. Moreso in the last month, obviously, but this feeling has never left me. We're alone together, encouraged to see each other suspiciously and that we are competing against each other for jobs and homes when the scarcity is artificial.
False job listings for positions no one intends to fill. People having to work more than one job just to survive when making all jobs liveable would remove artificial demand. The fear mongering about minorities and immigrants when the real culprits are employers who are actively avoiding young hires and older people who just want that career they were promised would be waiting for them after their degrees and years of experience, but getting paid as if they had no experience at all.
Are we the ones who are really "fucked up" when we have to wait for our parents to die for the hope of owning property? When we can't pay off student loans when we have already paid the principle, but the interest leaves us in debt until we die? Because employers don't pay fairly for the amount of debt we went into to get the degrees they want for the jobs they need filled that they don't want to pay fairly?
Is it really us?
Maybe we should stop being strangers.
