Chapter 7 of our season 4 rewrite is out, sorry it took so long!

Overall summary:

The universe has been reset, and the Hargreeves siblings have been left powerless in a world with their fathers name everywhere.

Meanwhile, while everyone else left Oblivion, Sloane never did. It took on a new shape but kept her there. She's joined by two familiar faces, yet they aren't the same people she remembers them being.

Chapter 3 of 'The Surge' has just been released

Extract from the chapter:

As I was running around the corner, I bumped into someone. I looked up, expecting to see one of my siblings, probably Diego, but instead there was a tall lady with platinum curled hair and an eccentric outfit that consisted of black heels, a leather jacket, fishnet tights and a tight fitted purple dress. In her hand was a black briefcase with golden locks.

She had a fashion sense that reminded me of Klaus’ just more… put together.

“Sorry.” I said before attempting to walk past her.

“Wow you're a fast one, huh!” She exclaimed, “almost scattered me over. Are you alright darling?”

I raised an eyebrow but smiled.

“I'm fine thanks,” I said, “just got places to be.” I turned around and started to walk away.

“Must've been one hell of a funeral with that dysfunctional lot, huh?” She called. I turned around, eyebrows raised.

“Who are you?” I asked.

Was she some die heart fan? With the media?

“Well, I know your brother…” She said, settling down on a bench and patting the spot next to her. Curious, I sat down.

“Which one?” I asked.

“Well he's short, jumpy, doesn't stay around for too long…” She said.

A couple months after the dissaperance of her mothers, Vera finally finds a place where she can start to rebuild her life without people constantly bringing up her past, however, when she finds out her 'hallucinations' are achually reality and the sky begins to turn red every night, her life becomes even more abnormal than before.

Five and Tara Hargreeves ran out of The Hargreeves Mansion with the intention to travel through time. Both of them ended up stranded just in different time periods and... circumstances.

I'm writing a fanfic about my TUA OC and plan on diverging from canon.

Here's an extract (non edited, its a draft however i think it summarises how my OC starts off):

Adrenaline is like a surge — lightning fast, electrical, beautiful. The thrill was unmatched, addictive, all consuming — I sought it out. The energy crackling through my veins made me feel alive, real. Everything was overwhelming but in the best way possible, my senses burnt and the world around me lit up.

I adored everything about it, even though I wasn't meant to.

“An increase in adrenaline equates to danger, Number Eight! Be strategic, use it to your advantage! Don't focus on the feeling but rather what it means!” My father repeated time and time again.

The blissful rush remained at the forefront of my mind, only encouraging my impulsive behaviour and that worked. I was able to conquer whatever danger I faced while indulging in the thrill of it all.

Going with the flow and being reckless worked for me… Until it didn't.

I had rushed out of dinner alongside my brother, Five. He wanted to try to time travel, I thought it was a wonderful idea and had decided to tag along, despite my father recommending otherwise.

It was the most excited I had ever seen him.

As he stretched and pulled at time. There was a flash of blue, a crackle and then the surroundings around me changed.

There was no surge however the fact we had just time traveled was enough to excite me. There were new stores, people, clothes, even the air felt different!

We popped into another time period and then another and another—

Suddenly the surge hit me, at that point it was the biggest wave I had ever had. I had gotten so caught up in the excitement, I forgot what such a thrilling feeling meant.

What was worse? I didn't pay the price, he did.

I let go of his hand, and he jumped away, into the future and whatever danger awaited him.

I avoided it, he didn't.

Brilliant work! To add to the subway mystery madness.

I tried to solve the sound (backwards talking) in the subway when season 4 came out, here's what I found (posts taken from my reddit)

So the way my brain works, I love a puzzle. ADORE a puzzle. So seeing that encrypted language all over the subway in season 4? It gave me an itch in my brain that needed to be solved. Playing around with it, it looked like a substition cipher, simple switch for letters and symbols. But with any TV show and props, there is a chance that someone in the prop department just threw together something random.

However. When I started looking, excluding the subway station names, there were 26 unique symbols. Which couldn't be a coincidence.

And it wasn't.

I started off by giving each symbol a letter, and then looking at frequency analysis. This got me some of the way there, (managed to get THE as a consistent correct pattern) but for less common letters the system fell apart. I was shown an image from the propstore auction (thanks @hansodax) so decided to focus on just this.

By doing the conversion to letters and then running again through a frequency analysis it was looking consistent with english. A couple of runs through a substition cipher decrypter and the word time line popped out. Just some manual clean up then needed.

I thought this was random until the incredible @hansodax thought to translate it.... It means loneliness. I'm 90% sure this still is from the first timeline they go to. The one where original Five is alone. Holy shit!

and the lettering on the subway car itself is also random, as using the same encryption just gives nonsense. I did suspect that might be the case given that the same symbols are repeated over and over on diferrent signs. Just in case I did invert, but upside down it doesn't match the alphabet.

Other signs used appear to be multiple letters and some new symbols mashed together:

I suspect a proper language was created for the initial prop of the map, and then the symbols used to decorate other surfaces without meaning behind them. Another consideration is that there are numbers in the mixed together symbols, but these are often harder to crack.
