TW: Strong metaphor for sexual assault

A poem I wrote after I was pressured into drinking at a family gathering on Christmas. I am 20 so I although I am an adult, I am not old enough to drink. My boundaries being violated like that took me back to a toxic relationship I had earlier this year where consent was often hesitant and boundaries were pushed, so I combined the feelings from both events. New weirdo just droped! Meet Calliope the olm. There is a lore reason why her ref sheet says “olm folk” and why her and Corvid have parts not from their actual species and I will explain it soon 👀

Calliope is blind, but her other senses are impeccable. She also has synesthesia so she can match colors with songs and descriptions instead of actually seeing the colors. This leads to some interesting dynamics between her and Corvid because he is quite loud, and she can learn a lot about him without actually seeing him. I envision Calliope and Corvid as neighbors who are just drawn to eachother, and their relationship keeps chugging along even though they are both scared of the possibilities. Calliope is a timid girl and mainly listens rather than speaks, but Corvid doesn’t mind at all! :)

I initially didn’t plan on making more characters to surround Corvid, but maybe I can make more and even include them in the poems? I am already working on an overarching story and I’m excited!

I AM SUPPOSED TO BE PRETTY PINK. A PRIMROSE DARLING. SO WHY THE FUCK AM I PURPLE IN BODY AND RED IN MIND? AND WHEN I SPILL MY GUTS IT’S TAR.

Project logo explanation!

The moon craters (idk why I made them so teeny LOL) are morse code for SOS

The C is not only a moon but also a moth, and the rest of the letters are a part of the caterpillar. Notice how the caterpillar’s head is facing into the moth moon, this represents how the caterpillar stage progresses to the moth stage, but is still a part of it.

There is a hidden female symbol in the wing. However, it is not facing down because it represents how Corvid is afab but also intersex and presents his gender differently (just like me!)

The line under “the wrong girl” is a typo line! It represents how Corvid knows something is wrong and he needs help, but he needs to like spellcheck his own life to figure everything out :)

The line birds directly parallel the typo line, representing Corvid recognizing the errors in his life and flying away on a journey toward healing.

I had a BLAST designing this logo! I may tweak it down the line but I still love it

Welcome to the beginning of a journey!

“Corvid the Wrong Girl” is an art project centered around using poetry and digital art to convey the trauma and complicated emotions of the titular character, Corvid the moth, and in turn my own. This began as these two concept drawings and the ideas just kept flowing! Then I made a logo to make it official, so yea ;3

I am also planning on setting up an ask blog to answer from Corvid’s perspective so you all can get to know him!!
