This is a little sitting room in the master bedroom turned into MUCH needed closet storage. If you will swipe RIGHT ➡️➡️, you will see our clients before closet space which is down the hall from the master. The sitting room space was used as a home office prior to the closet transformation.⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ You can see in the before closet photos, our client has a mix of shelving needs (folded clothes) and hanging. Incorporating drawers in this new closet space and not losing any hanging or shelving storage, was a slight challenge.⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ On the back wall, is all the modem equipment, and we didn't want to close that up with drawers. Plus, having the drawers on the side walls, better uses the window space on the one wall and provides a better split of storage for our couple. ⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ This closet has a ton more storage now! The builder did give hanging space, leaving no shelving storage for this closet. But the potential for this space is great!! ⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ *⁠⠀ This design now gives a better passage way for our clients to move around easily inside the closet. The ADJUSTABLE hanging is on the sides with shelving and drawers as you enter the closet. Our client's daughter's closet, had this bottom shoe shelf built by the builder in the previous closet system. Many times, this is the builders "clever" way to store ALL the shoes needing to be stored in the closet,⁠⠀ 👗 👛 The problem with storing shoes this way, really hides the shoes under the hanging clothes. It is not a great way to store shoes. ⁠⠀ 👠 After much discussion, our client didn't want to remove this shelving. Most of the times, it is added on with no piping underneath. However, there are a handful of times, it IS to store/conceal piping. In addition, the flooring was not being replaced and the existing flooring was done after the shoe box was installed.⁠⠀ 👚 👜 We will talk in future posts about the type of systems more (floor based, vs wall hung systems) and the advantages of each. ⁠⠀ 👠 With such a small closet, hanging was needed, in addition to drawers and shelving above the drawers.
