I was at the People Power Monument last Wednesday too for the Marcos indignation rally (aka the #MarcosNotaHero protest), but I didn't see this sign. If I did, I'd probably fist-bumped the guy holding it, haha. Def one of my favorites among the pop culture-laced ones that I saw floating around the 'Net (my top favorites are still the Lannister-inspired banner "Marcos Never Pays Their Debts" and "The Fault in Our Justice System" nod to John Green's TFIOS). And we, the so-called "Temperamental Brats," are not standing by to let that monster devour us all again. #MarcosNotaHero (at People Power Monument, White Plains, EDSA)

“The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.” - Frank Herbert, Dune
Wrapped and edited my series of Dune designs based on Frank Herbert’s epic novel. This book really struck me to the core, I loved his psychedelic transcendental ideas in the package of this amazingly thought out distant future. Hope someday to see the right director get a chance to show it for the deep work it is…but who?

Their second rule includes a plea to NOT drink the paint water. It does get a little confusing, when you 'sip' while doing your 'gogh', haha! Makes me wonder how many times the switcheroo actually happened. ;) #SipandGogh #Artriz #paint #painting #palette #vscocam #artstagram #vscoart (at Sip & Gogh Kapitolyo)

Ah, this kind of convos is what keeps me going back to this fandom. This is amazing, keep it up guys! But just to add a few things:
I think what we’re forgetting is that we’re talking about a kid–a fifteen-year-old girl, to be specific. She is the way she is because she is shaped by her past (which I would argue is not as dark as that of kid soldiers deployed to fight like war machines, but I’d say it’s very twisted that it skewed her philosophy about war and peace and life as a whole). The other fifteen-year-olds in the show are given 49 episodes to showcase their character development, whereas Dorothy is given less than half of that. Scenes with her are short, too, as if only added there as afterthoughts. I often think the creators went like, “Oh, right, I remember throwing this character in, but we’ve zeroed in on so much of the main heroes these past few episodes. Let’s just add this and that to show she’s somehow changed, blah blah.” This is a shame, because she is introduced as a very intriguing character and then was dropped to do most of her own growing-up offscreen. I’m saying that because she pops up with a different attitude the end of the show and at EW, hinting at probably some kind of behind-the-scenes introspection or self-realization on her part.
Frankly, there is so much about her that was left for the fans’ sandbox to play with. For instance, it is somehow hinted that there’d been a paradigm shift for her and that she didn’t initially share her cousin’s views on war (Ep48). The creators didn’t give us enough canon stuff to back or prove or even bluntly show the transformation she’s underwent, but it is there.
Agreeing on the part about the scene above being not the only thing that makes most people hate her. I’d argue, though, that it’s the best card Dorothy-haters pull out when laying out reasons to dislike her. I’ve seen people get annoyed at her very first appearance in the show, mainly because of how she behaves and talks, but they begin the hate and bashing because of the Quatre-stabbing thing.
Anyway, open to more convos like this, @theplottinghousewife, @crown-of-winterthorne, @simulacraryn! And as always, loving your interpretation of 1xD, @gundamwing-ellesmith!
Dorothy vs. Quatre Part II (Episode 48: Take Off into Confusion) Part I (Episode 44: Go Forth Gundam Team) is here
____
I don’t care how large the slice of Dorothy hatedom in a metaphorical GW fanbase pie graph may be. I still love her. Her haters’ best reasons (mostly consisting of her eyebrows and/or the scene above) did not–and will never–diminish her awesomeness and badassery in my eyes. Not one bit. She’s an amazing character, and will always be…no matter what she does, no matter whom she ridicules, praises…or stabs. :p

Today is Relena Darlian’s (Peacecraft) birthday! It’s also the first air date of Gundam Wing. The 21st anniversary of the show and we’re still here. Happy Birthday to our show and the voice of a generation.

Class Prophecy
So I was rummaging through my things yesterday and found a copy of our high school yearbook. Flipped through it and remembered that since I was the Class President, I had to write the Class Prophecy.
…and lawd. I actually ‘prophesied’ that three of my classmates would become GUNDAM PILOTS, haha. I think I also mentioned Vayeate in there, omg. Literally gasping for air while I laughed at the piece. It was so horrible it was funny. Ugh, such a dork. I wondered how it got past my editors. 😂

This shit’s been going on since time immemorial – before movies, it was wives editing and proofing books, sometimes putting in enough work that, had they been male, they would’ve been credited as co-authors.
That’s why having George Miller rhapsodize about how amazing his wife Margaret Sixel is and how important she was to Fury Road was so unusual and important – too often, women’s contributions to their husbands’ creative endeavors are viewed as a sort of marital obligation, not achievements in their own right.
Also, there’s this:
“You can see the huge difference in the films that he does now and the films that he did when he was married,” [Mark] Hamill pointed out in the 2005 interview, in a not-so-subtle dig at the prequels.
Yeowch.

If you wanna talk QW, I'm always down.
Ah, Quatre Winner, my homicidal golden baby! 😊 Definitely my favorite pilot, too. I’ve been meaning to write a meta-essay about him but just couldn’t find the time. But since you’re here already…
-Have you ever wondered about the poor guy’s choice of clothing? I mean you’d think as someone as rich as the Winners, he’ll have some kind of personal stylist or something. I love him tons but his style screams for fashion 911.
-How about pre-Episode Zero Q? I don’t believe that from the start, he’s already the bratty kid we met in the manga. I believe baby Q is kind, and that someone just shoved in his head that he and his sisters are just being used as a tool by his dad.
-What do you think about Sandrock? I mean the gundam kinda has a connection with him. Remember when it let him escape when he tried to self-detonate?
-Who d'you ship him with? I jump between shipping 3x4 and 4xD, haha.
