Me, to myself: (yes motherfuckers I'm still kicking, and I will make it everyone's problem) ...y'know, actually? It's very hard to actually have a legitimate trauma response PTSD episode when picturing *that one character* (who unfortunately I do have actual childhood trauma around) as a deranged version of Bob The Builder. Fuck it, he's Homicidal Bob now. Eat shit and die, bitch.

In case anyone ever forgets or doubts how completely arbitrary the sizes are for "women's" clothing:
I was at the mall today and of the clothes I tried on, the sizes that fit across the six items (four shirts, one skirt, one dress) were medium, large, XL, and 2X. Several of them were the same brand, three of the shirts were the same style/cut, and they still weren't consistent. Of two shirts in the same brand and size (both XL), one is a tight "hugs my body" fit and the other is a somewhat loose "not-quite-boxy-or-baggy" fit. I swear they are literally the same pattern just with different materials - they both have the same cut in the neckline, sleeves, and hem. (I have been sewing for over a decade, including altering and full on making clothing for myself and others - and dolls/toys/stuffed animals. I'm telling you there's very little difference in the pattern of the two other than the fabric.)
The 2X dress fit my torso the same as the L shirt did.
This shit is ridiculous. There's no reason we can't have standardized sizing the way "men's" clothing does other than sexism.

I tried to do something nice for my mom cause I was having a really good, low pain high-energy day
And I fucked up. Got overconfident and forgot that just because I feel like I can do stuff doesn't mean my body is physically capable of doing non-disabled levels of shit and I have been shaking so hard I can barely stand or hold things for like forty minutes.
The good news is I'm not struggling for breath anymore so that's nice. 🙃🫠 I'm in agony.

i am always the bitch who's like. that's actually not true :) your brain does not stop developing at 25 or ever :) love languages can be a useful vocabulary but is not real :) a lot of the personality disorders you villainize are responses to immense pain and fear :) stop trying to sort the complexity of human experience into HARRY POTTER HOUSES pleaseee think critically abt what u are being told and who's telling u this. why would someone want u to believe that u aren't fully capable of decision making until 25? psych has been a tool to oppress since it was created, don't buy into it!
#me too op#the study where the brain isn't developed tol 25 is such a fun story too!#i think its so funny#and very cool#chris rambles#reblog#i live for random stories tidbits and facts#i collect them like a dragon hoards gold#except I share them at every opportunity

My mom once made a comment about how stupid America and its younger population is, because drug ads will tell you not to take that medicine if you're allergic to it or its ingredients. And "back in her day" you didn't have to tell people not to take something you know you're allergic to.
I replied that it's not an individual failing when our food is full of garbage that's literally outlawed in other countries, our schools are failing and falling apart and function on a system that was developed to train silent factory line workers and teaches more government propaganda and indoctrination than anything else, most people are one medical emergency away from extreme poverty, a majority of our working-age generations live paycheck to paycheck, and the top 1% of multi billionaires (and trillionaires what the actual fuck?!?) who pay the politicians to do what's best for the rich are actively pushing for even worse conditions.
If the children are lacking the skills or resources you believe they should have then you should look at their elders and ask what *they* have done wrong. Ask yourself what you can do to help fill those gaps. You should look at the systems that they put in place, and ask yourself how can I improve this? How can I help these children succeed? You should stand shoulder to shoulder with them and help carry the burden they've had forced upon them. Be at their backs to help them move forward, stand in front of them to shield them from harm, and beside them to demand more - demand better. Help them tear the mansion of the corrupt down, splinters be damned, and dig your hands into the soil with them to plant the seeds and grow a garden, without worry for how the dirt will ruin your manicure, and join in line to share the bounty so that everyone has enough.
Gen Z - my generation - has been treated much the same as Gen Alpha is being treated by older generations, but it seems to me that each generation is treated worse than the last. Boomers and Gen X complained about Millennials, then berated and belittled Gen Z, and now they are harassing and outright abusive towards Gen Alpha.
An unfortunate percentage of older Millennials adopted the mindset and behavior of older generations - and the rest should be proud of choosing to step up and start doing the work to break the cycle. A majority of Gen Z - in my experience - made a promise to ourselves that we would not continue the cycle, and we would do what it took to build a better society, country, and world, as we lose patience with the harm caused by broken systems. Gen Alpha, having received the worst of the treatment from the moment they were born, are coming into their teens and early adulthood already having lost their patience for it- if they had any to begin with.
TLDR: Gen Alpha has been blamed for the choices and systems made by Boomers, GenX, and Millennials, and anyone with a shred of decency or humanity should have sympathy for and support, protect, and fight for and with Gen Alpha instead of perpetuating the abuse against these children.
in like 5-8 years when gen alpha starts really making fun of gen z no one is allowed to complain because like 99% of people do nothing but treat those kids like shit

An ad on TV: RSV is the leading cause of hospitalization for infants under 1
My immediate thought: LMAO not me, I was brought back to the ER within days of going home cause I would periodically start struggling to breath or outright not be able to, and it wasn't RSV! Ha!
My very next thought: Chris...what the fuck is wrong with you?? That's not a flex and it's not some sort of competition. Why are you like this!?

When I genuinely fully expect to get called names and verbally abused in response to a message asking to know what time we're meeting for a chat so I can make sure to not be busy then, and restating the boundary that if anyone is unable to remain calm and respectful or there is any name calling or similar mistreatment/disrespect than I will walk away from the conversation until everyone is ready and able to have a productive discussion.
Joy. Says a lot about the pattern of behavior they've established that I'm not even mad just tiredly expecting to be treated like shit.

I feel like the human body should *not* be allowed to respond to being fed when it's hungry with making you incredibly nauseous and sick to your stomach for no apparent reason.
No there's no possibility of an allergy or the food being bad, yes it's food I have had frequently and don't usually get ill from eating. It's nothing about the food itself - my body just goes "oh, you're doing the thing you need to do to survive that we were asking you to do? Hahaha no thanks, have some severe nausea.

A lil something I put together for Pride Month this year.
The cane has become a daily tool I can no longer deny, and wanted to create something to show the acceptance of this aspect of my life. Alongside with the many colours I've found through the never ending journey that is self discovery.
I did create one flag myself here, the bottom right purple one. Purple is the colour ribbon used to represent fibromyalgia as well as the butterfly used as symbol for this chronic illness. I took those elements and made my own fibro flag to go with the Disability Pride flag.
Do enjoy and merry Pride Month to ya'll.

I wish kinky sex ed wasn't so stigmatized even among left-leaning "sex positive" circles. Everyone's all "uwu I'm a sub I'll do anything you ask" okay mommy wants you to read The New Bottoming Book so you learn how to sub without hurting yourself since your sex ed up to this point is porn and your ex boyfriend Jared who liked to choke you incorrectly

Straight - passing couples at Pride deserve the same love and respect for their identities as non- straight-passing couples do.
And if you disagree, please keep in mind that you are being a dick to queer people based on who they love, which is the exact opposite of what Pride, the queer community, and allyship is about. Don't be queerphobic because someone's queer in a way that's different from how you are / think they should be / are comfortable with.
not to Discourse but I’m a cis man and my partner is an afab enby and if you call us a “straight couple” I will personally come to your house tie you to a chair and make you listen to a podcast about gender identity on endless repeat
#reblog#happy pride 🌈#queer pride#pride month#lgbt pride#queer community#this blog is a queer friendly space#this is just transphobia#you realize that right?#if you disregard someones place at pride because of their presentation you're trying to erase their identity as a queer person
