Five second rule is hilarious, but considering we both didn’t see the amok, and Mari seemed nervous I’d believe that Felix stole a ring again

I have a first degree black belt in Taekwondo, and while my teachers were pretty high up, most of my fellow students were, at most, a third degree.
It took me like four years to go from a white belt to a black belt (COVID delayed stuff). In Taekwondo, the degree of your black belt is how long you need to have that belt and keep training to earn the next degree. One year for first degree, two for second, so on so forth.
Even ignoring the cumulative years from the previous belts, you need to have an eighth degree black belt for eight years to become a ninth degree. Add that to maybe three years to go from white to black and you’ve hit eleven years already. Valarie is 14, and at least at my Taekwondo studio you couldn’t start to properly progress ranks until you were like six or seven.
And then you bring back the cumulative years.
Btw no one asked but most people (like the Danny Phantom show writers) don't actually know what a ninth degree black belt is.
There are only like two hundred people in the world with a ninth degree black belt in anything and it requires 'dedicated your entire life to it' levels of experience. Most of the time, you'll not only have spent time teaching it, but also will own a martial arts school.
It's also important to note that the exact requirements differ for different disciplines, and advanced black belts require a dedicated understanding of that discipline's philosophy.
The idea that Valerie is a ninth degree black belt is stupid (sorry Valerie) because of the precise experience requirements, which are measured in years (not competence), and even the idea that Maddie is one is pretty questionable. Valerie would be a third degree at most, while Maddie would maybe be a fifth or sixth.
The character implications for both of them, however, are pretty fun! It takes dedication and discipline, and it implies that martial arts was a huge part of both their lives even before ghost hunting was. For Maddie in particular, it implies that actively practicing martial arts was once as big a part of her life as science was - though I imagine having kids dropped it down the priority list.
Anyway. I don't care that it's canon. Neither of them is a ninth degree black belt, and martial arts is a much bigger part of their lives than is usually assumed.

I want it to be a thing in the revival that Stacy and Vanessa have this super involved Flynn-Fletcher Interference Plan™ that they developed themselves and that Perry did not ask them to do.
Whenever Vanessa knows Perry is going to be at a place the Flynn-Fletchers might be, she texts Stacy, who then coincidentally shows up and distracts them.
They have a text chain that’s just them coming up with excuses and corroborating stories.
Carl gets involved at some point and is like. these girls have created a secret auxiliary organization to our organization. what the fuck.

Okay okay so the scene where Glinda and Elphaba were about to escape the palace via hot air balloon, they failed because the roof closed.
But imagine what would have happened if it hadn't.
The balloon would fly, and they would escape.
Where do the winds take them?
Kansas.
Specifically, to where Dorothy is.
Dorothy, who's still around like 6 or 7.
So by some miracle, Dorothy's family lets them stay since someone needs to watch the young child while they're all away. So they basically become nannies/older sisters/substitute parents to this child.
Elphaba loves using her magic to make the little one laugh. And Glinda loves helping Dorothy dress up. The magic is a well kept secret.
Elphaba teaches Glinda some magic. While Glinda is not as powerful nor can she do as much, there are little things she can do. Such as make small objects float towards her, make flowers bloom, and control bits and pieces of light (I personally think magic is connected to not only emotion but personality).
As time passes by, Gelphie finally dates because 10 year old Dorothy one day asks Elphaba "where's your girlfriend?" while Glinda was just in the other room. Leading to an inevitable talk.
Gelphie's relationship is a well guarded secret by them and Dorothy, it took a while to explain to Dorothy why it's not so safe to tell others yet (remember the year this was made y'all), but she eventually got it.
When Toto was given to Dorothy, he did nawt like Glinda at first. He did eventually warm up to her, but Glinda still pouts about it sometimes.
Now the storm--well, tornado.
So, the house finally lands. Elphaba and Glinda step out first to make sure it's safe for teenage Dorothy to be outside.
And then the dawning realization that they're back at Oz strikes them.
And from the posters they see, it's clear that Elphaba is still wanted. Though this time, so is Fiyero. Because Fiyero lost Elphaba, the girl he's in love with but hadn't told, and Glinda (whether or not you personally believe he and Glinda had truly been in love may vary, but he cared about her, that's his bestie), he decided to take a stand as well. But of course, he had been painted as the wicked vigilante. Now, as for Glinda, she had been used to make Elphaba seem more of a villain--Morrible had been saying that Elphaba kidnapped her.
Dorothy is wondering why their names are all over this place Dorothy never heard of. Glinda and Elphaba are just like "sit down for this"
Dorothy is just "...I love that, actually."
And so now, they have to find a way home, then Elphaba fucking sees who's under the house.
And that night is spent through Elphaba crying in Glinda's arms, Glinda trying her best to comfort her, and Dorothy is also trying her best to be there.
Elphaba gets to keep the shoes this time.
Now their main question is how the fuck do they get home (they don't know of the shoes, how could they when they've been away from Oz for too long), find Fiyero, and maybe Boq, and maybe take the wizard down if they have time. How do they do all that when Elphaba is still blacklisted and Glinda is seen as some victim?
(Then maybe Glinda thinks out loud, what if there was a universe she hadn't been able to be there for Elphaba? And then the Dragon clock answers "Every other universe, you weren't there. Every other, you could never reunite. This is the only one you do." And upon hearing those words, Glinda becomes even more determined to stand by Elphaba's side because since his the only universe she stood with her, as an apology on behalf of her other selves, she'll make up to all the other Elphie's as much as she can here where she has this privilege to be with her)

I got a somewhat silly idea for Mari to make. Mirror glasses, like those periscope toys but attached to glasses so that she can hang with her friends and they can see her without being transformed

Dick and Kori have Mar'i and Bruce is just... confusion.
Bruce seems like the type of dad who cannot for the life of him comprehend the idea of his children having sex lives. Like one of them will make a crude joke on patrol or something and Bruce will just… blue screen. Because there is no way someone did something like that to his precious baby???

In the sandboy chapter, how would Tikki react if adrien describes maotifs fear as her disappearing, considering she already made a link between little marinette and moatif with the pen earlier?
Tikki definitely sees similarities between the two, especially learning that Maotif sews, but Tikki is very much under the impression that Marinette is dead. So to her, at most, she'll think when the wish rewound time it went to someone with similar traits as Marinette. The thing about Maotif disappearing is obscure to them, however, they're just confused. Tikki does know the wording of the wish, but the magic of the wish is so absolute, and she didn't see the result like Plagg did, that she doesn't think there's any chance Marinette could be alive (or rather, poofed from existence/memory and [information removed because spoilers]). Tikki's right, in a way. The magic of the wish is absolute, and Marinette's lucky that Chloe's whole magic supply was burned up and the wish stopped before it got worse (the wish doesn't like that).
Tikki is refusing to see Maotif in a positive light, and as such, while she makes these parallels, she doesn't want to think it true, even when all the signs are there.
Don't worry. Tikki's opinion will start to change soon. (Adrien's opinion has shifted to more annoyed-neutral, and it will take a while to get out of there. As Adrien is right now in the story, he's stagnated. Something drastic will happen, and Adrien will eventually change.
I swear, this story isn't supposed to be Adrien salt.)
TLDR: Tikki definitely sees the similarities between Marinette and Maotif, but to her Marinette died, and only has the ring and a few traits in common with Maotif. Why Maotif disappearing is her worst nightmare is just a mystery.

I love every fic that sees this and is just like "...yeah, no. Those are maybe the BIG ones, but there are a lot of schools."
I'm pretty sure she doesn't understand georgraphy well, because I'm pretty sure the wizarding population in the US was stated somewhere to be around the same size as England and like...
The US is big.
And that's not even getting into the rest of the world.

I watched this scene and was just like, "Ah, yes. This is why I ship them."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The newest Episode had SO sooooooo many good scenes I don't think I can keep up with all of it! But man.... This scene in particular made me so happy because Ragatha finally got the recognition she deserves!
My heart was bursting through my chest when Pomni finally approached Ragatha and told her how much she appreciated her efforts! I thought it would be funny to imagine what Ragatha was actually thinking in that moment..
I'm so happy for them 😊💕

Overview of some topics when it comes to drawing characters who are burn survivors.
DISCLAIMER. Please keep in mind that this is an introductory overview for drawing some burn scars and has a lot of generalizations in it, so not every “X is Z” statement will be true for Actual People. I'm calling this introductory because I hope to get people to actually do their own research before drawing disabled & visibly different characters rather than just making stuff up. Think of it as a starting point and take it with a grain of salt (especially if you have a very different art style from mine).
Talking about research and learning... don't make your burn survivor characters evil. Burn survivors are normal people and don't deserve to be constantly portrayed in such a way.

Holy crap, I've got a character with this ability, who goes on to be a relationship counselor...
--
Most everyone has heard of the red string of fate. Sure, no one probably thought it was real, but many had heard of it. A string tying soulmates together.
But there were others. Strings symbolizing relationships of other kinds. Ties between family, between friends, between romantic partners. The string's location and intensity varied, especially depending on the healthiness of a relationship. A pink string of romance tied around one partner's neck and tinged green was a sure sign to end the relationship. A blue string of friendship fading away on one end often meant the relationship was truly one sided.
Amare had always been able to see these strings. A red and pink between his parents; yellow between him, his brothers, and his parents; blue between him and his friends.
A red string tied to everyone's finger.
Everyone had a red string. A tie between them and their perfect soulmate. Sometimes it didn't have another end for a few years. Sometimes, someone had multiple. Sometimes the string would eventually land between romantic partners, sometimes it was between friends.
If Amare focused on the string, he could sometimes see out of the eyes of the person on the other end.
Most of the time, he tuned them out. The strings could be confusing, and if he paid them too much mind he could feel them, and would often trip on the strings crisscrossing through the world.
He tried not to interfere with relationships, just to force soulmates together. Soulmates would always meet eventually, and so Amare didn't feel the need to force them. If someone wanted his help, however, or if the relationships he saw were clearly toxic, he would step in.
All five of his older brothers had learned to ask him before marrying their partners. It had been slightly awkward for his oldest brother to ask him considering they were 15 years apart, and his brother got engaged at 20.
He'd gained the reputation of being "Cupid" at school.
Despite what he could do with other people, he'd never been able to see out of his own soulmate's eyes. Black met him each time.
He didn't know what it meant. Was his soulmate blind? Could he just not see through his own soulmate's eyes?
It wasn't like this ability came with a manual. Most of the time, it was just distracting. He did not want to see the orange strings between his Chemistry teacher and English teacher. Especially not when they both had pink strings heading off in different directions to their spouses.
He was just glad that he had yet to see an orange or pink string between a classmate and a teacher.
He was a freshmen in high school now, and was relieved he hadn't found out worse. It could have been worse.
No one had called him crazy yet either, so that was good.
But for the first time he was wondering.
The new girl at school, Solis, who had been found in the woods with no memory, was intresting.
She had a faded yellow string and two yellow strings alternating with black. Two dead family members, and one she wasn't close to (which made sense for her amnesia). A faded pink string that twirled with her red string.
So likely, before she lost her memory, she'd been dating her soulmate.
But where was that soulmate?
There were also two faded blue strings, and the stronger blue string toward Luna, that was crossing with a forming yellow one.
But when he had touched her red string, he saw black.
Her soulmate wasn't dead, he knew that.
The year got more unusual when he had checked in on his own soulmate string and... saw, something.
Forest.
Two days later, he met her. His soulmate.
She had a two yellow strings alternating with black, and a strong yellow string leading to... Solis. She had weak blue strings with the three other new kids, two of whom shared a red and pink string, and the third shared a red and pink with... Solis.
The new kids were weird as well. All of them had yellow strings with black segments. Orphans. Beyond that, they talked weird. Very formal.
But that wasn't important. He was just trying to get to know his soulmate.
And figure out why the heck they keep literally bumping into each other.
Some say that an invisible red string is tied around the fingers of soulmates meant to be together forever. As it turns out, you can see these red strings, and have therefore created a highly successful matchmaking business.

"Will Maotif ever be friends with Misterbug? Probably not."
That's lame, so there isn't even gonna be a satisfying conclusion to their conflict?
What I meant was more so they're not likely to just randomly hang out or anything. Once stuff happens and Misterbug's character arc properly starts they'll get along more, but they aren't gonna be close friends. Moreso the relationship of like, a coworker.
I also don't have everything figured out, so this may be subject to change. And you guys don't even know the extent of Mari's curse and how it'll affect her (or if it can be undone before it's too late).

How do you feel about the Love Square?
It's a little silly, but also understandable. But the actual crushes in the earlier parts of the show make it weird, and it's why Marichat is my favorite. That's the only side where they both treat each other like normal people and you can understand why they'd actually be decent as a couple. Ladrien is kinda both their personas, and add that with it being the side where they both have a crush, and it's just awkward, and also just weird with the way the show wrote (mostly Marinette's) the crushes. Adrien is semi-competent around Ladybug as Chat Noir, but for some reason as himself is not? Mari's just a disaster around Adrien regardless.
Adrinette and Ladynoir are both just fine, and have cute moments, but the both have their normal moments.
So if I was to rank the sides, from worst to best, it would be: Ladrien, Adrinette, Ladynoir, Marichat.
Anyway, long story short, a love square is fine and even understandable in a show where both the love interests have a secret identity, but Miraculous Ladybug just didn't properly write it (or flesh out all the sides to be honest, which could've been cool).

Why does this types of AU fic always seem to have Ladybug!Adrien and Chat Noir!Marinette hating each other and eveybody just being an asshole to Ladybug!Adrien?
It's more so (in this fic at least) from the misconception that whoever uses the black cat ring is evil. This led to Pegasus attacking Maotif, and Misterbug sided with Pegasus, forming the sides.
But it's not outright hate (at least from the kids' perspectives. Some adults hate Misterbug). Maotif is mostly just neutral on Misterbug and just likes messing with him, whilst Misterbug wants to hate her but she's too good at her job to do so. Maotif isn't close to him, but they work together to a degree.
As for most of the rest of Paris, they mostly just prefer Maotif. She was there first, and Misterbug's partner attacked her. A lot of people by this point would accept Misterbug's help, though they prefer Maotif. However, Pegasus gets a lot of hate because he attacked Maotif initially, and wasn't a hero long enough for people to be more neutral. This'll be resolved eventually.
For this type of fic, it honestly just depends on the starting place. Some people probably take it too far, but in this fic, it's mostly just teens who don't exactly get along and don't know each other well enough. Will Maotif ever be friends with Misterbug? Probably not. But she doesn't hate him, and Misterbug struggles to think she's evil.
Honestly, they're just kinda at an impasse.
