I’m SO excited!!!! August is gonna be so slow I know it because I’m looking forward to October. I’m curious about what this album is gonna be like, especially with the album cover and title choice, but I noticed some of the tracks have shorter titles and I usually take that to be a good sign. Idk why I just always seem to find that the best songs have short titles. I can’t wait to hear this!!

“He could be romance/sex favorable!” they scream. And to that I say, he could! Why do you think that? Name one sign you think points to that. Yeah, just as I thought, you don’t actually care about favorable aroaces and just want to erase him. Not on my watch. Not after I’ve finally found a character who shows me I’m not alone. Ship him for fun all you want but don’t you dare try to deny the existence of the one piece of representation we have.

It’s crazy how many people just don’t understand why a lot of aro and or ace people don’t like that Alaster gets shipped. It’s not that hard to understand we don’t have a lot to let ourselves lose. I mean can you name 10 asexual characters? 5? Can you name two aro characters. There’s the guy from Archie who they made have a sex scene in a movie version. There’s a few books. I think a background character in Heartstopper? Do you see the theme here??? You’re all queer people, do you not get it? How it feels to have nothing? Is it so wrong to be upset that there’s finally an outwardly aroace person in popular media and instead of people embracing that they’re fighting on the internet about why it’s ok to ignore it? And I will never in my fucking life have anything against the people who are aro and or ace and portray him in THEIR experiences, even if it is a romance or sex favorable experience, but it is obvious that way too many of you guys are allo and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t even like him as a character that much, he isn’t even made by an aroace artist. The show isn’t even that fucking good, I just want to keep someone like me for once in my life. If there were a million other aroace characters I wouldn’t care, but it just hurts seeing erasure coming from my own community. It just sucks, man, I don’t know. It just sucks

Tbh I'm really moving away from sex-positivity and more into sex-neutrality as a label for my stance bc I'm kind of... exhausted?

I view sex itself as a neutral act. Not shameful, but not some Awesome Sacred Innately Good And Human thing. It is good for those who are impacted positively by having it. It is bad for those who are impacted negatively by having it. Its meaning and value is not objective but rather up to the individual to decide what it means to them. I am "sex positive" insofar as I think people should have the sex they want, and be free to express themselves. But I don't know, I'm a very private, low-libido black stripe asexual with a lot of bitterness about sexual norms and expectations and sex positivity as a movement largely doesn't feel like it cares about me or is at all for me. Sex is a thing. Do it if you want. Don't do it if you don't want. I'm pretty tired of moralizing in either direction about it.

Fearless has always been a good song for ships, although I don’t really have one that I feel like this is the exact song for, I kind of just like the vibes. My favorite lines being especially:

“Absent mindedly makin' me want you,”

“And I don't know how it gets better than this, you take my hand and drag me head first, fearless”

These honestly have sskk vibes just because they’re so impulsive and romantic and I love that for my ships.

And then ah, invisible string my beloved, this one honestly fits skk well but some sskk lines would be

“Time, mystical time, cuttin' me open, then healin' me fine. Were there clues I didn't see?”

“Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire. Chains around my demons, wool to brave the seasons,

One single thread of gold tied me to you.”

Something something them healing together, realizing they don’t have to be bitter forever.

And of course that last line is always so pretty.

hoax is just sad. Why would you do that to me?

“You knew it still hurts underneath my scars, from when they pulled me apart, but what you did was just as dark.

Darling, this was just as hard.”

They’ve damaged each other so much, watched each other die, Atsushi’s even had to see the abuse Akutagawa’s suffered at Dazai’s hand…

“My win-less fight

This has frozen my ground”

They’re stuck in these moments of trying to kill each other and yet trying to keep each other alive at the same time. </3

… And yet maybe they’re frozen together as in nobody will ever “win” this fight by killing the other, they’ll just end this rivalry and live happily ever after :3

Midnight Rain. I’d say they both have their share of midnight rain inside them, but this line hits especially hard for Aku

“It came like a postcard, picture perfect, shiny family, holiday, peppermint candy,

but for him it's every day.”

Because Atsushi just has a warm life with Dazai and the agency and Akutagawa was cast aside, never to be loved by this warmer version of Dazai, only remembering the abuse by this broken teen who hadn’t escaped yet. But when he did escape, he left Aku behind.

And then Atsushi’s past echoes in this line

“I guess sometimes we all get some kind of haunted, some kind of haunted, and I never think of him, except on midnights like this.”

Just him accepting what he went through at the orphanage as “how it goes” until some days he actually has to face that trauma again

And then Back to December ughhhh I need to listen to this on loop 163829 times now.

Just that reality crashing down on Atsushi that he didn’t actually want Aku to die, that he misses seeing his face, that he wants there to be more time for them to be together, and he won’t take it for granted next time. They’re in love!!

Opinions on Daylight and The Great War being anthems for Sskk? :>

So many Taylor songs are anthems for sskk honestly

Daylight for sure, I feel like it fits a lot of the characters honestly but so many of the lyrics are so sskk just reading them

“There are so many lines that I've crossed unforgiven. I'll tell you the truth, but never goodbye”

Even though they’ve hurt each other, in the long run this will be their forever. I mean, who else are they going to love but each other?

“I've been sleeping so long in a 20-year dark night. And now I see daylight, I only see daylight.”

Akutagawa is 20 years old. He’s lived his entire life in darkness and Atsushi is his daylight 🥹

“Threw out our cloaks and our daggers because it's morning now. It's brighter now, now”

They can live in the light.

So yeah, this song is definitely definitely sskk, especially Akutagawa.

As for The Great War, I actually associate that one with Gon and Killua from hxh lol (just because I was obsessed with them when it came out) but reading your post about it you’re honestly so real for that, especially the last like three lyrics you quoted were so sskk

I’m not caught up with the manga but I know what’s going on, and it fits.
