RotBTD fans:

If any of you are still alive, from a retired veteran of the RotBTD fandom, the thought occurred to me today, in 2024 time, that if we wanted updated artwork of the characters, we should turn to the Mirrorverse’s designs for Rapunzel and Merida. They look absolutely badass and I will not hear any arguments cause they are: wow

Hiccup’s updated designs will of course be HTTYD’s latest versions of himself.

But Jack, unfortunately, we have to use our imaginations. Especially since Dreamworks has selfishly held back on a guardians sequel.

(I say that last part specifically as a joke… however they do need to make a sequel just so we can have a ‘hiccup-glowup’ moment again but with Jack Frost.)

Clone Wars AU

JUST HEAR ME OUT PLEASE.

Fives lives BUT He discovers and adopts Omega while he’s on Kamino just after Tup’s death. He runs off with her and AZI as his partners in crime, and they end up shutting down the entire Clone Wars, discover Palpatine’s plot, and stop any/all separatist movements because they are 100% likely to be utterly chaotic together and they wouldn’t miss a beat. They’d also find Echo. He’d also be the best worst influence for her until Hunter, who just randomly appears in their lives, decides to casually take her off his hands.

Yet another, TBB Headcanon:

I have a headcanon that the Bad Batch, as Cadets, weren’t as well behaved as we may think. Yes they likely behaved at the start of it all but… Y’know the knack for not following orders had to come from somewhere.

I’d like to think they truly bonded as siblings over causing mischief. Clearly, they never got along with the Regs until the end of the clone wars (still an iffy relationship regardless)

Imagine the countless times they got bullied because of their defects? I mean, they were LITERALLY called “The Sad Batch” in season 1’s first episode: Aftermath. Sorry, you can’t tell me they just sat around as cadets and took the abuse of the normal clone troopers.

I think it solidified their positions in terms of being a squad too, when Hunter just sat up one day and instantly blurted out: “hey, let’s rig a booby trap in their barracks” and you all just know they collectively looked at each other and went: “yes.”

Bonus points if you just pictured cadets: Tech working on timing the trap with his glasses glowing like a hacker, Crosshair’s sinister smirk, and Wrecker’s over eager knuckle cracking.

A Bad Batch Theory

I raised this question on Instagram, because truly it made me think.

Technically, we don’t know how he got his scar— a lot of us just speculate that it was an explosive incident and/or a deadly hit from a more powerful kind of droid (Droidekas, BX commandos, a tank for all we know)

I personally subscribe to an explosives incident whether intentional or non, idk if it’s canon by any means. It’s like Cody, no one knows where Cody got his scar. Or Howzer. It’s kinda irrelevant but like scar stories… like Wolffe’s happened due to Ventress. Thats a cool story.

Alright fine, I’m gonna force us to talk about that scene from The Bad Batch Season 1 Episode 1 Aftermath, where all of them were in the holding cell on Kamino casually breaking out with the shock troopers standing outside. Let’s take notice that lil omega was there. The boys worked together so they could pry off the wall panel while Echo and Hunter kept watch.

Flash forward, season 3 Episode 14, Flash Strike. Omega, was confined with a bunch of other kids who had no idea what they were doing whatsoever but they did their best to keep a distraction. Not only did Omega completely come up with the plan on her own cause she KNEW what she was doing, not just because she was taught, but she had so much to look back on memory wise- AND PULLED THE SAME STUNT with the WALL PANELS.

That in itself, is growth, my friends.

Nope. I cannot die happily now that I know how Tech, Crosshair and Hunter never actually gave out a hearty, boisterous, HEARTFELT laugh.

Wrecker was always giddy, of course his laugh was easy to hear all the time but the other three all had snarky snickers or low gutty chortles and tbh I don’t think Tech ever really laughed, maybe an occasional smirk or grin- which is completely understandable based on his character!

Omega was a lil giggly girl till her season 3 arc and we heard her genuinely laugh with the Lawquane kiddos and Hera.

but man I am now sick to my stomach :(

Tech panicking while teaching Omega to fly the Marauder is so funny to me because literally the very first impression we ever get of TBB is Tech drifting the Marauder onto a landing platform at like 3,000 miles per hour

Seeing Crosshair's helmet in the Tales of the Empire opening just reminded me that it was left behind in Tantiss, along with Hunter, Wrecker & Echo's. Their gear is the last to be discarded of Clone Force 99 so they can be free to choose their new path.

It's the literal shedding of skin. From losing their job, their purpose, their ship, their colors, their armor. Then comes the rebirth.
