thinking abt that thing i said in my phil gafs post like, phil trusting dan with the understanding that if one came out it would have to be together and allowing dan to be the one to tell that part of their story with care. i mean that entire section in BIG is about dan's trust in phil. TRUST is such a huge part of dnp's relationship bc there were so many times where literally, they had no one else to turn to. it was phil's video that was leaked. it was phil pouring his heart out that was shared. they couldn't even trust a website's privating system to work reliably. it's no wonder they're so attached at the hip, if they weren't, who could have protected them?

i think about phil's side of no homo era a lot. he wasn't nearly as vocally no homo as dan, but if they were together in a younow he'd obviously also deny his queerness, in order to protect dan but also his own privacy. like i said, it was HIS video that was leaked. in the context of what we know about phil's sorta hidden breakdown during the hiatus and also much louder breakdown while dan was away on tour, it makes me think like. it must have been so painful right? being the polite yet palpably upset messenger in the dm's of people who violated his privacy. quietly taking down any copy he could find. and then having to rely on youtube's automated system which was technically a part of the system that violated his trust in the first place, even if it was just a glitch. and like dan was furious and you could visibly see the insecurities contort within him during all this and he would (understandably) lash out, but phil didn't play the good cop because he wasn't as affected, it was to protect themselves. it's just that if he didn't, i feel like dan would have watched the whole world burn and phil would have been right next to him. dan would have poured the gasoline but phil would have paid for it.

theres been such an energy to this preshow. its just felt like chaos. dan started it encouraging phil being a freak to the phlit.. he did his Freak Voice and was like "you get right in there phil" so of course a fire alarm would go off. preserving us. phil spent a solid couple minutes assigning sexualities to various fruits (plums? nonbinary. pineapples? bisexual. bananas? gay.) when asked "name 5 women QUICK" dan's first answer was chappell roan and phil, without hesitation, went "SISTER DANIEL." and also was like (re: nashville being the birthplace of sister daniel) "these streets saw her ass :)" Okay.

we gotta discuss skater boy phil tho. he listens to limp bizkit and rage against the machine. he brings emo girl dan to the half pipe and defends her from his chauvinist douchebag friends. when he falls off his board and gets a scrape he doesnt clean the wound cuz he wants to get a cool scar. he just wants to escape this small town.... no one gets him like emo girl dan....
