the american flag motifs? uncle sam telling him his art is too ghetto and essentially too “black”? praising him for doing a censored disney song instead? AND DOING IT ALL IN FRONT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES???

and oh yeah he called drake a pedophile in front of the entire nation

i'm cheering for not like us on the super bowl like everybody else but consider kendrick lamar surrounded by american colors introduced by uncle sam singing "the revolution is about to be televised. you picked the right time but the wrong guy." icon, i fear

Pausing the shenanigans for a moment, can we maybe do away with the narrative that Kendrick Lamar is purely just “a hater”? I know it’s hard for white people especially to see the Black struggle and our lives as something other than entertainment for your Sunday nights, but let’s not forget Kendrick directly criticized Drake for using African American culture especially for a cash grab, without actually giving back to the communities who loved and supported him for so long.

I know it’s fun to dance on people’s graves, especially Drake’s, but I beg nonblack people to stop diluting Kendrick’s messages to him purely just being a petty lil’ hater.
