I'm back from my camping trip so here's some of the sketches I did!

I love learning new things about Star Wars. It’s a massive galaxy with SO much lore. I think I’d live in that galaxy over this one, because although there is obviously a lot wrong with that universe, it’s literally a reflection of our own corrupt and failing world.

i love the unintentional poetry that george lucas spews. like this is awesome, seeing it put this way. its very true but i never noticed how this felt, but always felt it anyway.

Something very cool to me about Star Wars that’s also a complete accident is the way space in the OT feels so much darker and emptier than in the prequels. Obviously it’s just a result of Lucas getting the green light to do whatever he wanted and sacrificing structure for tons of world building, but it does really make the prequels feel more full of life than the OT.

You see Tatooine and Naboo and Coruscant in the prequels, Kamino and Geonosis and Utapau and Mustafar. Obi-Wan and Anakin throw out random names of planets three times a movie, coupled with a quip about something that happened there. There’s a whole, thriving galaxy out there that feels immediate because the characters know it, because they’ve been there and they remember it. And then… the OT. Luke has never left Tatooine. When he does, the first planet he sees is a smoking ruin. Dantooine, that Leia mentions, is abandoned. Han hasn’t touched his home planet of Corellia in years. Hoth is hidden and desolate. Dagobah is home only to one person. Bespin is out of the way, and also the only place Han, Leia, and Chewie have to go. The galaxy is cut off in the OT—darker and emptier. And it’s a total accident, but… it works anyways. The Empire has risen. The galaxy is splintered. Everyone is alone.

So far I’m absolutely loving the bad batch- I like how they’re really fleshing out the characters, especially hunter bc in the clone wars I felt like his character was a bit base, but now he’s become one of my favourites. Omega too, I was worried she’d be annoying but even though she makes some poor decisions, she’s super loveable and I like what they’re doing with her character. My only complaint is I wish they did more with Echo 😭 he’s my boyyy and he barely got to interact with Rex

THE UNSPOKEN HISTORY OF THE DYNAMIC DOMINO DUO

TCWs had some timeline fuckery, cos well, it wasn't always linear and you couldn't always tell when or where something happened, and who saw it.

But since I've got a bit of a list of chronology, lemme give you the fun facts about the Domino Duo, Fives and Echo.

THE DOMINO DUO were... ... Adopted into the 501st during the Malevolence Crisis--thus would've definitely encountered the 104th. ... Present for Sergeant Denal, Rex's early season squadmate, and were around during the Battle of Deveron (Thus Denal's Death and the intro of Cad Bane). ... The Battle of Orto Plutonia, and the first appearance of Riyo Chuchi. ... The Zillo Beast ... The Second Campaign of Geonosis ... Saleucami (Though they weren't on the ground with Rex's Squad at the time) ... Could be argued that they were undergoing Arc Trooper training during the Battle of Sullust and missed the introduction of Savage.

Point is, the Domino Duo were in the 501st for a Good year before Lola Sayu (where Echo was presumed dead).

DOMINO SURVIVOR (Fives) was Around but Not Directly Present For... ... the Battle of Onderan (intro of Saw Guerra) ... Zygerria ... Kenobi's Fake Assassination ... Jedi Bombing Crisis

Fives did not make it a full "year" after Echo.

One of my favorite things I’ve seen about Wrecker in fanon is him giving one of his siblings Lula whenever they’re hurt, sick, or upset. It is something I hold so close to my chest, since when writing Wrecker I often try to keep my brother and how he acts in mind, and my brother used to do that with his baby blanket when he was little. I just love Wrecker so much.

Look I don’t headcannon Echo as non-binary, but I reckon he doesn’t give any shits about gender and will refer to himself as anything.

The Bad Batch call him mum all the time. Doesn’t matter to him, as long as they do as he says 🤷

I headcannon he’s got the personality where he likes skirts, but prefers to wear pants because they’re more practical for what he does. (He kept the kama cus its pretty, cool and practical)
