Charleston Slavery Tour
89 posts
Our blog and our Historic Walking Tour, 'King Cotton, Slavery & the Planter Aristocracy"  focus is shedding light on and sharing truth about Charleston's leading role in racially based American Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Not only will we introduce to the men most responsible for "Our Peculiar Institution", we will more importantly honor the incredible accomplishments of the enslaved Gullah Geechie Community and the so very many that have descended from them.

I like this unexpected but logical and passionate Barbados connection that is developing. When you consider that Charles Town and the Carolina colony was just as much a colony of Barbados as it was England this makes big time sense. Let us grow us........ (at Brigdetown, Barbados)

What did the wealthiest men in Colonial America look like? Meet Charlestown's Slave Holding Founding Fathers. The first one every American should know considering he is the man appointed by George Washington to draft Our U.S. Constitution and without his influence among other things we would have had a bi or tri cameral Executive Branch as in 3 potential Trump's in office. Lord have mercy. #truthinhistory #theyallownedslaves #historiansarepartoftheproblem #whodoyouthinkhasliedtous #thetruthinhistoryinitiative #findoutforyourself (at Marion Square)

What does a man look like who owned between 50 and over 600 human beings? Well they look a lot like the Virginia Founding Fathers considering they were all Slaveholders and the leading members of the Planter Aristocracy. Do not believe the b.s. that modern day so-called historians try to feed you that they were conflicted.....like mama said "actions speak louder than words" #truthinhistory #thefoundingfathers #thetruthinhistoryinitiative #stopthelies #weneedtoownourhistory #kingcottonslaveryandtheplanteraristocracy (at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello)

The Blake-Grimke House. The Blake family were leading members of the Planter Aristocracy owning over a thousand fellow human beings between them. Offspring of the Grimke family include Sarah, Angelina and Archibald. The Grimke Sisters were leadering Abolitionists and suffragettes and the first Americans male or female to combine these two causes. Their mixed racial nephew and a former slave Archibald Grimke became an early leader in the NAACP working side by side with W.E.B. Du Bois and serving as the national V.P. #truthinhistory #charleston #equalrights #civilrights #abolishingslavery (at Charleston, South Carolina)

The Great Nullifier John C. Calhoun's presence can still be felt today as he stands guard in Marion Square Park. His "Paternalistic" mindset can still unfortunately be found her too.
