October is a rough month for me and I've noticed I really cannot find Tedri in my heart at the moment-- Perhaps an angry or angsty Ted, but not the kind I want to portray with how things are.

I am going on Semi-Hiatus from Tumblr. For me this means being around, but, as I have been, drastically slowing down my online presence to heal.

If Tedri comes back, I'll be here to rp happy things only.

Hey,

I come bearing a gift and explanation for my disappearance. I know it is not needed, but I feel bad.

So Murphy's Law is very real and one thing me and Ted share is our knack for over exerting ourselves. I'm okay though and everything is back on track. I come bearing a gift of a full timeline for Tedri Darsten plus his verses.

There are active trigger warnings and please read them. I tried my best to not focus on the details of the triggers as I wanted this doc to be accessible.

Tweaking this a bit! The easiest way to tell if Darsten likes your company: If he offers you a chewstim. Not you asking and him saying yes out of some obligation. Him offering you one out of the kindness of his own heart. Silent but effective in his own weird way.

Was he not being funny? Darsten swears that would have landed at least a ha. Many of his quips landed at least a snort or a smile from his coworkers! Why are all his superiors like this?! In his mucky brain that was a nice, solid joke. He shrugged and shook the datapad in the air as a goodbye before leaving the humorless General.

It was around the first-hour marker after stretching his legs that his companion finally joined him in his torture. Chipper, no matter the time or environment, always lived up to his name and it brought a smile to Darsten's face. It also lit up a small flickering lightbulb.

All droids are capable of doing fantastic things, you just need to program them to do it- and maybe move a few wires around. One of these things was of course making words into binary and then spewing them back out. While not a BB-9, as his earlier thoughts wants, it was nevertheless possible through the Mouse Droid. More challenging but would yield the same results once filters were set up.

By the end of the second hour, Darsten was on the floor wrangling his squirming droid. He just needed Chipper to hold still and allow a few changes! Just a download! Simple download! Of course, as if the universe wanted Darsten to suffer more, Hux decided this was a suitable time to finally bug him again. It even caught Chipper off guard long enough that Darsten could plug him into the cylinder with a scomp link adapter he snagged from a Tech not far from his station earlier. Finally, the process had begun in the little data miner Mouse Droid. Guess Hux was helpful for something, Darsten thought.

Popping up, he looked over the console and locked onto Hux. He was too frazzled for this and couldn't Hux just wait patiently like everyone else that needed files? It's only been, what, three hours? Darsten brooded silently as he paused to imagine Hux tripping on the bridge or even just popping out of existence! 

His tone said it all, husky in exhaustion, but still nippy, "Of course. I'm almost done in fact." It was unsaid, but he really wanted to push the whole 'now leave me alone and it'll happen faster' thing. Darsten was finding it difficult to want that though, as he really didn't have it in him to argue for the sake of arguing. He did have to add one thing though. "Also, you have surpassed 305,000. Congrats."

Did he know that as fact? No. Yet, he wanted to at least lie and act like he has not been wrestling a droid for the past hour. It was at least a logical estimate.

Perfect question. Let's do it. Darsten was to be the evilest, most unhinged, and chaotic character I have ever made. He was to be a horrible, insufferable person with many flaws and few traits to be liked. In fact, he was to be just a straight-up selfish jerk that took pleasure in the misery of others. Initially, I wanted a villain through and through.

I do not know how it happened, but he change after I made his Google Doc, and became better in my opinion. While some of that all still rings true, it has reasons now and is toned down drastically. He is not so much a villain, just a burned-out, exhausted, attention-starved guy that wants to be valued and appreciated. Willing to lie and joke to get just a bit of praise. Even drop weak friendships for it.

Still a bit chaotic and unpredictable at times with his mood, but more due to him not really understanding what to do with all his thoughts and feelings. Just blurting them out when they happen and dealing with the consequences later.

His selfish tendencies are more due to his strive for self-preservation. No one else is really looking out for him, so he has to do it himself.

The jealousy in his heart is from his fragile ego. It really is like glass. With all his insecurities it is no real surprise. It causes him to be unable to sit with himself, even acknowledge himself really. Rather finding outlets (or outbursts) to ignore his own turmoil.

Darsten now has realistic fears, shortcomings, and slip-ups. He was to be a great manipulator. Horribly so. Yet, it really doesn't fit his impatient and defensive nature. Instead, he is great at white lies and maybe the passing big claim, but with big schemes he is horrible. Fears don't get me started on. There is a lot, one being abandonment. Probably why he doesn't really seek out friendships.

> Real quick side note: Darsten's lying tells are really easy once spotted! Like some theater major putting on a show, he moves around with exaggerated movements and expressions. This can be charming to some and make it believable, but to others, it makes it so hard to believe it is painful.

Guess while I'm ranting, I should touch on Chipper. Darsten has never really had a friend before- surprise! This is excluding his last friendship in the Academy. Anyway, he was supposed to be some jerk that was using a droid's kindness. That has changed!! Thank the Maker! It became more like, oh I can get my entertainment and gossip from a droid! To then, oh this droid actually likes being around me? To finally, a growing bond with this droid helps me ground myself. This droid listens to me! This droid doesn't tell me to can it! This droid cares about my health and wellbeing!

It is now a deep friendship and they really do complement each other nicely in my eyes. Also, if anything happens to Chipper, I swear I might just cry with Darsten.

That's, uh, about it. Really. Little things here and there, like his favorite foods and hobbies and words. Even obscure things like his favorite textures and his chewstim (gum) addiction. Yeah!!

how much has your oc changed since you first made them?

This was refreshing and pleasant. It made Ted wish people approached him more often. Well, people approach him now but it's usually in a what are you doing or stop being yourself kind of way. Not a how are you, are you feeling well kind of way. He wished for this amount of care more often. Made him feel important!

There was also the fact he was actually agreeing with someone for once. He too felt like he often had to act a certain way to be pleasing in the eyes of others, though he promptly throws away those feelings and does what he wants anyways. Still, he understands. Especially after working with Hux, he understands. "It, unfortunately, comes with the territory of being the most power Captain in the Order," he says. "But between you and me, I think it's snotty to force such principles. If you do your job and do it well, who cares about all the rest? Be yourself, be wonky, be happy." He was sounding like Chipper now. Perhaps the droid's logs are rubbing off on him. He toned it back a bit after clearing his throat. "But I'm just a Data Analysts, what do I know?"

While Darsten does have quite the tendency to get sicker than a dog, no one has ever shown any care. Maybe the one's having to tend to him, but no one else. It was odd- and a little disturbing- to him that suddenly someone was asking. He had to sit with it for a moment before deciding he liked being asked. Now there was the worry if it was sincere.

"I'm in perfect health, Captain..." He smiled wider, "Thank you."

Starting this weekly oc fact thing I wanna start off with something lighthearted! (let me ramble dang it)

Ted loves winter: the cold, the dark, the snow, and the ice. He loves how it's so quiet that he can hear his own heart beating and feel himself breathing in the frigid air. It makes him feel alive. He also loves just the sight of snow. How it shimmers and dances in the wind.

If he is to ever go planetside again, unlikely based off of the first Voorpak incident (finger's crossed though), he hopes it is a planet with snow! He wants to frolic in the snowfall so bad.

ᴇɴᴛʀʏ: I had quite the surprise today when I went to check on the Interns and Randy was there again. I have not seen him in weeks! He keeps getting approved for vacations is what he tells me. Meanwhile, I have not had a vacation...ever! What if I want a day away on some nice planet? I hate this. I hate Randy.

Randy if you ever read this it is on sight next time!

At first, he was a little shocked at what he heard. Like his colleagues, he gave a puzzled look at Hux due to his words. It is not every day one hears their superior speak so openly. However, his weary looked turned into an amused one when Hux began backpedaling. Darsten is never one to follow the common tongue biting of the conglomerate. He always found it a waste of time and energy. Seeing it firsthand was always entertaining, especially so to his brain that he swore was melting with each passing hour. At least everyone else seemed just as exhausted. "Shame," Darsten snorts, "that medal of honor sounded nice. If you ever mean that offer-." Darsten shrugged and leaned to insinuate the high treason he was leading on to. He was joking, of course. He just wanted a reaction at this point. It's what he does and how could he not take up such an opportunity?
