We curated a collection of our favorite pretty goodies for an afternoon fête for elite interior designers. Our style team began building the tabletop by selecting this blue brocade linen adorned with hemstitch napkins from @latovola. Next we selected blue fleur de lis glassware, crystal cut wine glasses and vintage opal flatware from @tacer_losangeles. The centerpieces were a composition of potted herbs from @collagedesignla nestled with fresh baked goods from @celestinodragocatering and colorful fruit displayed on our cutting boards.My personal favorite detail is the pop of color from the lemon in the bottled water. 🍋 What is yours? Feeling an urge to write an Ode to #this wedding cake. This magnificent white cake may be the prettiest, most elegant wedding cake I have ever seen. Giving it up to @thebutterend for perfecting the white layered cake with perfect proportions and the smooth butter cream. The two cake flavors, lemon and carrot, were dreamy as well. Those real orchids deserve a bow to Mother Nature. One of my favorite floral designers, Kim from @collagedesignla,added the orchids with a perfect steady touch. No time to retouch a cake so you only have one chance to get it right. What does the perfect cake need? Not too much, still this table from @mtb_event_rentals and a view from Greystone Mansion. Up, up and away! As the bride and groom were saying their vows while our team was buzzing behind the scenes. The plan was to have all of the guests tie a balloon to a miniature dream house upon entering the wedding. When the big announcement, “I now pronounce you man and wife,” we were cued to let our balloons fly away into the sky carrying our little house as the theme song from “Up” played. Soo, when you hit a kink like the balloons not lifting the balloons as anticipated by our engineer groom who calculated to the molecule, we had to think fast. First, I trued completely deconstructing and wrecking that house pulling, tugging to get the bottom plate off. The nails won. So thinking fast, I noticed a brown lunch box that was holding the corsages. I tied that baby to the balloons and off they went. Nobody could even tell it wasn’t the house. When your favorite 🎥 is “Up” then you have to have a little dream house float away with balloons 🎈 Wedding guests wrote a little wish for the couple on a balloon then tied it to the miniature house. For fun, @thekatvond and @prayers wedding design from rendering to real life. Looking back on 2018, I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to create. I believe events are living art with a multitude of interlocking details from a collective of artisans working together. Our original renderings by of our ballroom with the romance of Phantom of the Opera and the mystic of Dante’s Inferno. one version was using all drapery and one with cave walls. This daughter of a geologist was so proud to use the words stalagmites and stalactites at work. The final design encompasses both drape and cave walls, our circle of candles and hundreds of floating candles.
