Unpopular opinion: We shouldn't need a holiday that happens once a year to remind us to express gratitude for things we are thankful for because we should be doing it all year round.

I don't understand why people who haven't made any effort to get together with me all year suddenly want to get together for a holiday that the purpose is to show gratitude. If my family were grateful for me, we'd be getting together more often, no? And if we were getting together often, why does Thanksgiving have to hold special meaning? It feels like a photo op on this day compared to the others. Listen, I'm grateful for the family I do see and that I'm close to. But not everyone has that, and I don't feel the need to make a spectical out of it, like I'm competing in a measuring contest to see who's family is grander...

Sometimes, social traditions and norms just don't make sense to me. I fear the significance of Thanksgiving will forever confuse me.

I promised a potatoe chip book last week.

Not the first time I've read this series an not going to be the last.

The series plot is thick. In The first book it is a loose retelling of Cindarella. Follows a teenage assassin who is summoned to the castle for a competition after being released from prison to serve as the king's champion.

One of my favorite things about this book is SJM first began developing this book when she was 16. She had posted 4 novellas about the main character on FictionPress.Com before being picked up by a publishing company. You can see SJM's writing develop throughout the series as she advances through her high school and college career and adult life.

Sooo...Last year my new years resolution was to read 30 books. I tracked 145 books this year (so far, i dont think i logged them all). Decided the year is almost up and I want to do a (weekly?) book count down. Below is the first one. Its a classic, I'll pick a couch potatoe book for next time.

It iss not a particularly fun read. The characters are purposefully one dimensional. It is however one of the first books I'd recommend everyone should read at least once in thier lifetime. This heavyhanded, politically driven forbidden love story is timeless & has some earth shattering, thought provoking points that are very relevant to today's political climate. 1984 reads like it's 2024. I still am confused and impressed by how this book is and always has been relevant to current events. It explores topics like totalitarianism, individual freedom, government surveillance, and the power of language.

Spent Friday Night camping in White Cloud Mi. It was a blast. I loved spending time with my besties and disconnecting for a bit.

I'm not spiritual by any means. But I do believe my soul has known Sara's for a very long time. Feels like our souls grew up together in the antichamber of creation. Like they knew eachother and rekindled right away.
