Baby It's Cold Outside

idk I just wrote this in like 30 mins and originally I wanted Roland to be trying to convince Cedric to stay so maybe I’ll write that too???? idk I’m too Christmas already this fic doesn’t even have anything to do with Christmas just teens having a secret relationship and they both live in the castle and suggestive themes idk idk I’m done

“Do you really have to go?” Cedric asked from his bed, arms around his secret lover.

“Unfortunately. My father would kill me if he found me missing from my bed, again,” Roland sighed.

“But my bed is so much warmer than yours. And the trek back to your room will surely be freezing,” He gestured with his head to the window, where snow could be seen falling without any intention of letting up soon.

“I’m a big boy, I'll survive,” The prince laughed, getting out of the bed to try to find his shoes.

“Your hands are already so cold!” Cedric said, reaching out to grab his beloved’s hands as he walked by. “It’s truly in your best interest to stay here with me.”

Roland’s eyes showed he really wanted to stay, but- “My father might have been angry last time, but mother was terribly worried. I couldn’t do that to her,”

Cedric fell back against his pillows, hands clasped behind his head. “You’re wonderful. Did you know that? You’re caring and beautiful and you’re going to make such a wonderful King someday,” His smile was a little sad, because he knew he would never be able to rule beside him. Roland hated seeing his lover sad, so he sat on the edge of the bed and leaned down for a kiss(or two, or three).

“I love you. I really do. But I need to get back before somebody notices - can you imagine if someone saw me sneak out of here in broad daylight?” The blond boy reluctantly pulled himself up.

“Who cares?” The pout could be heard in Cedric’s voice. “If you stayed long enough, I bet none of their rumors would even be false.” Cedric grinned when he saw Roland glare at him over his shoulder.

“That statement could certainly use some /punishment/,” Roland said without missing a beat.

Oh, /damn/, Cedric’s trick had really backfired. He squirmed in the bed, glaring.

“I can’t find my coat. Can I borrow one of yours?” Asked a voice from the closet.

“Are you seriously leaving after that comment? I know you want to stay here. You’ll regret it if you leave me here, like this,” The darker haired boy smirked.

The crown prince snorted in reply. “I really think you’ll miss out more than me. It’s not like I haven’t enjoyed tonight, you know,” He walked over to the bed once more, zipping up a thick coat of Cedric’s.

Cedric pulled his prince into a kiss, tugging on his hair. He moved to kiss the older boy’s neck, unzipping and successfully removing his jacket in time with the sighs and groans.

“Maybe I could stay for a little while..” The royal heir climbed on top of the black-haired boy’s lap, kicking his shoes back into the floor.

The training sorcerer kissed him in appreciation. “I was starting to take it personally,” He grinned against Roland’s lips.

“But don’t think you’re getting away with this. You’ll really need to work to keep it down tonight.” Cedric’s blush at the suggestive words couldn’t be seen in the dark.

Sofia floating past the iconography of past Disney Princesses to reach The Secret Library

The sequence is so great. The notion of Sofia “getting on a Disney park boat ride” is really clever and a meta, while also good for the show’s lore. There’s this disquieting feeling in how the older Princesses have their “stuff” half buried in water. I love the imagery and the score, plus how these elements are allowed to speak for themselves. A rarity in children’s TV animation, this is a solid 3 or so minute scene without dialogue. I love how ALL the Princesses’ elements are present (even Pocahontas!).

Roldric fic - Gettin' Together

ok so I’ve had THE WORST writer’s block lately???? and this is all I could crank out. so this isn’t going to be the best thing you’ve ever read and I apologize in advance. I’m also taking roldric prompts???? :)

“I can’t believe you would do that!” Roland yelled after Cedric, who was trying to angrily storm away.

“Oh, hush,” Cedric glared over his shoulder.

“Stop walking away from me!” Roland put his hand on his longtime friend’s shoulder, which forced him to stop walking and turn in his direction.

“Why? So you can yell at me some more? I get enough of that from everyone else. I don’t need you joining in.” The younger boy pulled his shoulder away.

“Of course not, I just..” The prince sighed, shoulders slumping. “Want to know why you would do something like that. I thought we were… something.”

“Seriously?” Cedric laughed bitterly. “You joined in when your entire team was making fun of me in chemistry the other day. If that’s your way of saying you’re in love with me, you have a funny way of showing it.”

“I’m not in love with you,” Roland tried to say, so as not to seem too emotionally involved, but realized immediately how it sounded.

“See? Why are we even talking about this right now if you-” Cedric’s tone just kept getting colder.

“I miss you!” The prince shouted, unable to control hold back the emotion on his face any longer. “I didn’t mean to say it like that. You’re my best friend; I care about you, I miss talking to you, and I know I should stick up for you more. I’m sorry.” The sorcerer-in-training could feel his resolve falling.

“I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss you, too. But not you.. lately.”

Roland chuckled, looking down. “I haven’t been myself lately. And I apologize for that, too,” He looked up. “I guess I need you to keep me grounded.”

“I-I don’t know about that. But I appreciate the apology,” Cedric smiled sheepishly. “And I need to apologize for what I did with June. I was hurt, and I knew you would see us after your practice and I just wanted to make you feel how I felt. It was terribly cruel of me, and I am sorry.”

Roland smiled, lighting nudging his best friend with his shoulder, prompting him to start walking with him. “I can’t help but feel like I deserved it,”

They walked in silence for awhile before coming to a large tree brilliantly colored with red autumn leaves, where Roland grabbed both of Cedric’s hands and swayed nervously on his heels.

“Now, about declaring my love for you,” He grinned.

“Oh, you really don’t have to do that. I was being ridiculous before. I know you care,” The blushing teenager tried to pull his hands away, but his strength was nothing compared to the other flying derby racers.

“You’re not getting out of this so easily,” Roland took a breath before beginning. “Where would I be without you? You push me to be a better me, you forgive me when I shouldn’t be forgiven. Not to mention how stunning you are,”

“You’re not too bad yourself,” Cedric smirked.

“I know I’m not always the best at expressing feelings but you should know that I’m in love with you. I really am! I adore you in every sense. I hope this is not all for naught..?”

“Of course it isn’t, Rolly. I love you, too,” Cedric smiled.

“This is wonderful news! Now, if it’s alright with you, I would very much like to kiss you right now.”

“You don't need to ask,” Cedric smiled before leaning up to kiss his best friend.
