I think I finally found my niche. Or a least one for the day in DC. Being the nature nerd environmental science dork that I am, Sunan finally took me to the botanical gardens... my only complaint was that we couldn’t stay all day. I found myself going on and on about plant adaptations and different types of roots, endemic species and climate, plant ecology and trees and everything in between that I probably bored him half to death, but I was so giddy. I can’t wait to go back in the spring with my field guides and torn up moleskin notebook. Again, dork.

only a snippet of all the fun times we had- from infinite oyster shooters and dinner at pearlz, to drinks at cocktail club and late night warehouse friday, to brewery boppin at Holy City and Palmetto, followed by shopping and fancy Thai we had the best weekend. Love you leashie!

Since I can't run the bridge still (or run without a new something hurting every three minutes to be precise) I walked it Saturday.

I never knew I lived so close to such a gem. Thanks for paddling with me, Sunan. Next time, I want to go when the water lilies are in bloom; I cant imagine how beautiful that will be, as it was already quite breathtaking in frosty January.
