The Future Holds
The future is unknown. It is yet to be written. After a year of great upheaval, brought on by a mismanaged pandemic, I do not know what the future holds. Perhaps the decrepit woman in her ragged tent has the answers. The voices floating through the air suggest that she is the best they have have spoken to. It seems she knows things about people that their closest friends do not even know. The…

Deep in the Forest
Deep in the Forest
2020 has been a story that one should only read about in books, created by epic authors, meant to destroy the psyche of the reader momentarily. Instead, 2020 was a reality many long to never of experienced. For me, 2020 brought great change, both personally and professionally. I faced many changes in my work environment, from working at home to changes in how I could do my job in person. I had a…

Cozy Corner
Nestled in the corner, the tiny cat dwells. Shrouded in the perfect amount of light, to see but not be seen, she lays quietly watching the world around her. Silently she lays, taking in the sounds both within and out. She wonders when she will spotted; longing to be spoken to – but not for long. Her hiding spot is secure for now, but soon she will have to find…

Ocean Breeze
Tumblr media
Sometimes I struggle to put words to paper. I find inspiration within a scene, create an amazing title, and then struggle with the story I wish or rather long to tell. This is such a time. A perfect picture, with a fitting title, and yet words escape my fingertips. I am left speechless, unknowing what to put to fit the scene. Is this what the phrase “writer’s block” means? Is this what my…

Sunrise Stroll
Tumblr media
One of my favourite things to do is wake up early, before the rest of my family, quietly get dressed and take an early stroll in hopes of seeing the sunrise. This doesn’t happen often, sadly. Most times, a little one will hear movement within the house and come, rubbing sleep from their eyes, inquiring as to where I am going. On these occasions, I will say just getting the newspaper from the…

This past Thursday, I was made aware of a new family sim dedicated to children. Please join me as I venture through the beautiful family sim called Nuggets.
Tumblr media
Stepping out of the taxi, I was greeted by a friendly voice welcoming me to Nuggets. As my eyes adjusted to the sunlight, memories of other adventures (real-life) came to mind as I took in the arcade, restaurants, and the boardwalk strip leading to the Ferris Wheel. I ventured down the boardwalk a bit to read the sign in front of the Ferris wheel; learning about the location’s upcoming grand opening.
Hearing the taxi depart, I turned around and moved towards the road once more. Noticing the enticing beach front, the availability of wagons and dino cars to ride, the daily events board, and the path leading off in various directions.
Deciding which way I would embark, I turned to the left and followed the road listening to the sounds emerging from the environment around me. Rounding the bend, I found myself in front of a nibbles parlor and outdoor gaming tables. The Bowling sign piqued my interest and off I went in search of the familiar clatter of pins crashing against the polished wood lanes.
Satisfied with finding the bowling ally and other games, I returned to the parlor and enjoyed an ice cream before venturing further around Nuggets.
Through my travels, I explored various children’s stores, campfire locations, playgrounds, outdoor activity areas, and local wildlife. I even had the pleasure of meeting some little explorers arriving for musical chairs (but realizing they had missed it – they were happy to explore the area).

A Little Escape
Tumblr media
Every so often, when the normal becomes mundane, I decide that a little escape is needed and search for the unknown. Today happened to be one of those mundane days, where I needed something new and fresh. I pulled out my travel guide and read about various locations. I had to make a decision on where I wanted to visit and for what purpose. Was it to see something new, meet new people, do some…

Location Updates
Tumblr media
I am pleased to say that I am back to exploring family friendly locations within Second Life, after a very long absence. With this comes finding new communities to live in, attractions to visit, other interesting place for your family to enjoy. With that said, I need your help – if you have a place that perfect for families and you would like to share this with the Family Community, please let me…

Come Inside
Tumblr media
A month ago, restrictions were lifted on the number of people you could have within your social bubble. While my family accepted the increase and invited our closest friends over, we did not allow them within the house and they did the same when we went over there. Today, social distancing rules change, yet again, to allow people inside of restaurants – not just patios. It has been a topic of…

Contemplation
Tumblr media
Often, I sit alone and become lost in my thoughts. I wonder about those I have come into contact with in SL and how they are doing. I think about those who have come into my life and hold a deep-rooted place within my heart. I contemplate those who I have let move on, yet grateful that they still remain within my life – while others are no longer there and a hole has been left in their place. I…

Night Sailing
Tumblr media
Every once in awhile, my husband and I get the chance to spend time together without our three children. While these moments are rare, they require an abundance of planning and obtaining childcare (especially during a pandemic). We recently took a risk in our night out and went sailing with a friend, while their oldest son looked after our youngest two. The sky was gorgeous, the breeze cool, and…

A Walk in the Park
A Walk in the Park
There is something about being able to travel outside your home and venture into the park. Surrounding yourself with the sounds of singing birds, chattering squirrels, and the wind rustling the leaves. There is no better feeling than taking a deep breath and letting the day’s worries drift away. In the park, taking the less frequented path is where I enjoy spending a few hours with my family.

The Woodland Celebration
Tumblr media
Nestled within the forest clearing, the woodland creatures were busy preparing for a special event. From behind a tree I watched in amazement as they worked together. From the small house tables, chairs, and decorations were brought outside. The sweet aroma of cakes and cookies filled the air. Sunflowers were cut and placed within vases, adorning the tables. I watched as they sang and played as…

June 30 - Update on the Inventory
June 30 – Update on the Inventory
Tumblr media
As you know, awhile back (and by a while I mean several years ago) I started cleaning and sorting out my inventory. A task that is never easy, as many of you already know. I created a folder with the same title as this blog to help me organize my items for later posts. I further organized this folder based on years and months.
Over the last few weeks, I have whittled away slowly and the large…

My Bloody Bunny
Tumblr media
There is something about Halloween that makes me excited! It is the same feeling, I believe, that those who love Christmas get. Halloween, in my opinion, should be a holiday or something we can celebrate all year long. September rolls around and before I know it I am heading to the mall to find the latest Halloween goodies to adorn my lawn with. I will not only look for new decorations, but rest…

Rose Cottage
There once stood a quiet little house tucked away in the corner of a small island. The aroma of baked goods could be found floating in the air drawing in those who were out wandering. From the outside, you could tell the home was well cared for by its owner.
Tumblr media
No one knew who lived there, but one would wager a guess that a humbled old woman dwelled within. If invited inside, you would conclude she…

Vacation
Tumblr media
What started on September 3, 2019, came to an end on June 26, 2020. It was a year like no others, filled with lots of highs and lows. It was a year, not how I had pictured nor planned. It was a year filled with troubles, mixed emotions, job action, and moving away from the traditional into the unfamiliar. I learned more about my craft this year and areas where I need to engage in professional…
