Ey Richard, what do you think of the local babysitter? Completely random question, I'm just curious :)

I already know he won't do it but God it would be so funny if he joined in on the joke

Richard's first instinct would be to deny and tell her that she's old enough to sleep alone, but thanks to redemption arc some internal conflicts, he just sighed, getting a bit closer to Carmen and tapping on the bed so Lottie could sleep next to him. He was still being careful to not wake her up, yawning silently.

“ Dad..? Are you awake still? “

Richard just rubbed his eyes in a tired manner.

❝ Mm... now I am. What do you want, Charlotte? ❞

His voice and expression are quite mean, wearing an obvious frown, but he's not annoyed. That's just how he is when waking up.

She's furious, but it's not explicit. Not explicit, but also not hidden.

Carmen simply watched in silence, quite surprised at such reaction.

She just bring one hand to Lottie's head, repeating the same thing she's doing to Roy as she now caresses the hair of her own children.

She's not letting anyone get rid of them, not while she's still alive atleast.

There was the sound of a car pulling up and then immediately parking, the door slamming before the front door quickly opened.

“ Mom! “

She didn’t hesitate to do. anything really,

Lottie nearly knocked them both over but she caught her balance real fast, simply hugging her mom tight.

“ Good your okay— I was so nervous— I— shoot, Roy! “

She quickly kissed her mom’s cheek and let go to go check on her brother.

Carmen was just sat on the couch with a blanket right next to her, not even having the proper time to react before anything. Once Lottie gave the first steps to go check for Roy, she coughed to get her attention.

She pointed at the blankets, with it moving very slightly. Roy is laying under them, and it's only noticeable because of part of his hair coming out.

❝ Lottie.. everything is okay now. You don't have to worry. ❞

She says, in a lower tone now.

Richard had to digest the 'I'm not angry at you' before finally being able to speak properly. He also hated how he wasn't allowed to fully disagree... however, he could partially.
