This. But imagine at the same time there is also another character who ACTUALLY breaks the 4th wall often and they just see this other character n their shenanigans and he's like: "Bro. Seriously?!" everytime the other guy just messes up so bad.

I think it'd be funny to have a character who keeps trying to break the fourth wall and failing

Furthermore! Kind characters who choose to still be kind in a world so cruel and unforgiving are such fuckin' badasses. These fuckers are my absolute favorite.

What do you mean you're still gonna show compassion and love even when everyone doesn't give a shit? What do you mean you're still gonna help this helpless child when you can barely get by? What do you mean you won't accept this government's cruel and corrupt ways and still hold that little glimmer hope that everything will be okay and that people still deserve that bit of kindness you still choose to give despite everyone saying it is all for shit - that it won't matter in the end - that nothing you do can change this world and you should just join us and accept the reality of things?

But despite all that this kind character remains kind. Why? Well, it's not because they're stupid - or naive. Fuckin' hell they probably see the cruelty of the world, probably very aware of it even. But that's why they choose to be kind. Not to be saint or shit (cuz that's fuckin' bullshit). They choose to be kind cuz in a world that's cruel and unforgiving we that spark of kindness to get us by.

This kind person proaoby knows this as well. Most of the kindest people come from the most cruelest of circumstances. But then maybe someone showed that little itty bitty spark of kindness - gave them a lil' bit of hope - and that's how they learned how beautiful kindness was. Maybe they realized how cruel the world was and decided they didn't want it to be that way forever - that the cruelty if the world had to change but it had to start from somewhere.

I think some people forget what kindness really is sometimes. Cuz sometimes maybe the reason people think kind characters are boring is because of how they are presented in most media - mostly cuz characters are usually watered down or oversaturated to certain extents (angry guy, nice one, smart guy, y'know what 'm gettin' at) to the point people just think that's all they can be. Hell! Most kind characters are either the shy and meek type or the happy friendly always nice type (AND nothing's wrong with these type of characters, they can still be great - but it doesn't that since these are the numero uno only trait that mainstream media wants to put out and not expand upon, so others just assume/generalize that this is the definitive trait of being kind when these traits are very distinct and dynamic and you can actually be a kind character but be so confident or be so sassy or be so—).

Kindness is about giving a shit about other people. It's about sharing your last rations with a starving friend. It's about offering to share an umbrella with someone on the streets when the rain doesn't give in. It's about giving a strange a polite smile and greeting when they've had a really rough day. It's about hearing someone's frustrations. It's about giving up your guaranteed win to help those who are still struggling to get by. It's about being their for a dying friend in their last moments.

In the end it's about caring. Being there for others when the whole world decides not to be. And honestly that goes fucking hard.

In a world as cruel as the one of our reality, kindness is such a powerful thing. Kindness is something we all need. All crave for.

In conclusion: Kindness is NOT boring.

Kind characters are not boring; in fact, due to the vast amount of people who hold that opinion, kind characters are as edgy as it gets. In this essay I will
