In prompt-too webinar about strict posting vs. general posing. General posing enables your client(s) to act more naturally resulting in more organic photographs that actually shows who the person(people) are like. When you pose them, by giving direct commands (Example: Yes, you put your arm half way down her back. Put your arms around his torso, and you! Pretend you’re sniffing her cheek!) It becomes the photographer more than the people. As said in the webinar “You can see three people. The couple, and the photographer” . Of course, the webinar was more wedding photography oriented, but can be applied to all avenues of photography and this model “natural photos” is entirely what I built my business off of (no I didn’t watch the video before I created Shotgun.) It is comforting to know many photographers are leading this way over the highly posed work - however, it makes it harder for photographers to stand out of the crowd and be unique. But that’s the creative life, and one of the many creative challenges.

With the closing of my photography course (I only needed to refresh the basics) I decided to write it on my customized paper. I call it “Shotgun” and it is not for download / purchase and it is branded to my personal company. I decided to keep it super simple with my logo on the four corners, and used shotguns as the line. Lines are a light gray.

I have done something incredibly awesome, I have learnt the Alphabet in Braille. You may be asking “Cannuk, you’re a sighted person! Why are you learning Braille? Are you going to make fun of the blind?”

The answer is yes, I am sighted. No I am not making fun of the visually impaired! I learnt the braille alphabet , numbers, and the grade two level “er” for an important reason that will be revealed later... Can you guess what it is?

01.10.18 [26/100] Today was a crazy day!! So much was going on and none of it was able to be online in the form of my own original photo. I did a lot of work regarding my company as well as cried at my tutors harsh (not even constructive criticism) comebacks to my last assignment. PLUS!!! My stomach has hurt all last night and today and I barely slept :/ Tomorrow will be a better day...
