#i am forever hugely against whitewashing and was disappointed to read the first book#and learn that ade was originally written as nigerian#but thinking about it? especially after reading cibola burn? i kinda get the decision#like. reading the books it's clear that holden's taste in women is women#but if you're not inside his head hearing his thoughts#and you see ade and you see naomi and you see elvi#you might think holden is weird about black women :)))#....not that elvi is much of a love interest in the show but#if you're gonna make any one character white it might as well be the one that doesn't make it past the first episode#ig the moral of the story is props to the series for having so many woc that there actually was an issue#i don't understand the choice at all when it comes to errinwright though#how are you gonna give a man with a name like sadavir blue eyes#perhaps the writers didn't want people to mistakenly think the secretary general had a fetish for appointing desi politicians 🙄#dear diary
