I like to think Tremaine would be clever enough to evade everyone under Zero's control (it's also hilarious to picture Zero having beef with this one bounty hunter lol)

hey so I had an angsty ask/idea of my own -

imagine if for whatever reason (maybe he found out through his criminal/underground contacts), Tremaine never used the contact lenses when he got it. maybe someone warned him somehow, or maybe he simply had a bad feeling (considering the life he lived, he must have good instincts). and if he never used the contact lenses, then he's at no risk at being mind controlled like the others, so he would've been SAFE

But everything that happened to him in the book still happens because he would've helped Emika no matter what

Just... picture Roshan being torn between asking Tremaine to help Emika and begging him to run so he would be safe. Because no matter what Tremaine has been through and what he's done, he's got a good heart, and that's why Roshan loves him.

This would make such a great au bro 😭

Like okay I remember that Emi did Link with him multiple times, and she implied anyway (when Roshan was saying how people are being jumped for not being under control) that he would be under Zero's control even though he's safe from him anyway.

-When Hideo became more famous and rich, he would often run into Roshan at their fancy rich ppl events. Hideo was secretly proud to see Roshan becoming one of the top Warcross players, and was happy that Emika was chosen by Asher to be on the Phoenix riders because he knew Roshan would look out for her.

-Hammie went on to professionally compete in chess matches after Wildcard, and quickly became a top player. Asher cheers her on at every match.

-Speaking of Asher, he taught himself how to do a variety of hobbies, including knitting, crocheting, drawing, etc. Maybe throw an instrument in there or two. He's a very talented guy.

-Emika goes back to New York to find her friend, Keira, and buys her an apartment. They're still good friends.

-During one of their bounty hunter/hacker/criminal adventures, Tremaine and Jesse had to fight a robot that looked similar to a Star Wars droid. They decided to never speak of it again (after the mind control plot, the two were so done with genius inventors).

i think after Wildcard, Tremaine explained everything to Roshan (once he was out of the hospital of course, just in case he felt the need to run away fgjhfjfjh)

As for how that went down - i think Tremaine just laid it all on the table, you know? he almost died and at that point, he didn't want to waste this second chance of life he had. so I think he would've told Roshan the entire truth about why he broke up with him. I see it as Tremaine being like "So that's the entire truth about my life, take it or leave it" and ofc Roshan accepted him.

and Roshan feels awful about it, too, because it was *his* father that started a domino effect that led to Tremaine's misfortunes
