TBB finale thoughts with

SPOILERS

AHHHHH SO GOOD!!

Honestly a good finale!! They really had us thinking one of the core 5 was gonna die lol. Honestly, I feel satisfied with this ending. The Omega/research thing is a non issue now, all the clones and kids are safe, and Hemlock is dead. The mysteries that are left are healthy mysteries - they were never going to answer every little universe nitpicky detail, and Im glad they didnt try to. I enjoy being able to wonder and theorize

Echo MVP truly!!! They hid him until the final hour for maximum effect!!!

Adding Rex in would have messed with the message of the finale. If you want Less of the Bad Batch in the Bad Batch show, that’s gonna lead to some disappointment lol. But Rex is such a Big Character, and his story is so much bigger than the mission happening here, there’s no way they could have done him justice. Plus we all know he’s getting more story after this somehow lol, whether its a book or show or maybe even movie one day

The CX-2 fake-out was crazy 😂 once the other CX clones stepped out I started thinking maybe they were clones of the Batch? But i think we saw enough of their faces to see that they were just clones designed to parallel the Batch. But the identity of the CX clones (Tech, Cody, etc) has the same deal with Rex - would have drawn focus from the main plot points being resolved and couldn’t have been done justice. Better for them narratively to stand as anonymous mirrors of the Batch. Better for Tech to rest, showing the true stakes of what they do

(Plus I HATED the idea that CX-2 was Cody from the start. It made no sense beyond that they are both kind of important clones and both worked with Crosshair at some point?? Cody’s story is turning into one of freedom, or rebellion, or making amends with Order 66, not into getting reconditioned AGAIN)

Can’t wait to see Emerie again working with the rebellion!! She has so much mystery around her, like why did they make her in the first place, or if she’s a deviation why did they let her live? Was she on Kamino until Hemlock picked her up?

OLD OMEGA AND HUNTER GOT ME CRYING IN THE CLUB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Will be talking about this for day!!!!! Omega kind of wears her hair like phee with bangs (might be me being crazy but the resemblance is there to me 🥹) and the Bad Batch logo!! THE BANDANA SWAP!!!!!!!!! Hunter’s intense dad energy after approximately 10 years of parenting!!! They all get to get older!!! OMEGA IN THE REBELLION!!!!!

Dang it took the Pabu mountaintop scene for me to really realize that the Batch picked up like 7 extra kids this season 😂 like wow the Mandalorian/Fett adoption genes are Too Strong

Aw man, I can’t wait to rewatch this with my sibling who stopped mid-school semester at Ep 8 or 9 😂 the emotional whiplash of watching Ep 10-15 back to back will be wild

Okay I have been thinking. Now that we basically 100% know Omega isn’t force sensitive. I have been putting some things together.

Omega during season 1 was supposed to be force sensitive. I think that’s pretty obvious but they changed their mind sometime during writing season 2. Her being excellent that one time at shooting, her being incredible at games of skill/chance with very little learned knowledge of the game. Her sensing when crosshair was coming before he actually entered. Her knowing who cid was before cid actually said her name. Her knowing Crosshair would betray the batch before he did.

Stuff like that. However the hints of her being force sensitive really stop after season 1. The only really big one we get in season 2 is actually the opposite. She meditates once in season 2. I forget which episode, but she says something along the lines of I can’t do it the way he described but I like it.

So my best guess is that at some time between season 1 and 2 they changed Omega from being force sensitive to not. And that’s what Ang was talking about in her interview.

Now this raises two interesting questions assuming I am right about season 1 and I really think I am. Why did they decide to take her in a different direction? I get changing it during writing season 1, but they are pretty consistent deep into the season showing hints that she’s force sensitive. So I am very curious what changed Jennifer’s mind on this.

Now the second question this raises is why the Ventress episode? Why the whole your lying line at the end? That’s what really trumps me on this. That’s what I don’t get it. That’s the thing that still makes me wonder.

Anyway would love your guy’s thoughts on this. But that’s what I think happened behind the scenes. I doubt we’ll ever get an official explanation on this, but it’s fun to talk about.
